  • Patent number: 10803478
Abstract: Third-party publishers (such as websites) provide online advertisements combined with social endorsement information to users. A request for an advertisement is received from a viewing user via a third-party publisher system. A particular advertisement is selected in response to this request, and one or more advertisement tags associated with the advertisement are retrieved. The advertisement tags comprise information related to the advertisement. Social networking system data for users related to the viewing user is retrieved. Social endorsement information is obtained using the social networking system data and the advertisement tags associated with the advertisement. The social endorsement information and the advertisement are then combined and transmitted to the third-party publisher system, or are transmitted individually for combination by the third-party publisher system.

  • Patent number: 10789625
Abstract: A method and apparatus for influencing a potential customer to purchase an item. The item for targeted marketing is identified. The potential customer in a social network for the item is identified. An influencer that has an influence on the potential customer with respect to the item is identified using a hypergraph comprising objects representing people in the social network; edges connecting the object nodes for the people based on relationships between the people; and influence edges representing opinion influences on opinions about items, wherein the influence edges connect the edges to identify opinion influences between the people. An incentive directed to the influencer to influence the potential customer to purchase the item is generated. A display of the incentive in an application running on the client device for the influencer is initiated.

  • Patent number: 10762536
Abstract: Instead of accepting competing ads and using an arbitration function (e.g., an auction) to choose winning ads to be served with a document, sets of ads (perhaps having different characteristics) can be generated, and an arbitration function can be used to select the winning set of ads. Such arbitrations on sets of ads can consider how ads, search results, colors, positions, fonts, etc., all interact with each other and affect the usefulness of the sets of ads to advertisers, end users, document publishers, and/or an ad serving entity.

  • Patent number: 10755290
Abstract: Systems as described herein may include predicting item level data based on merchant advertisement information. A transaction pattern may be detected. The merchant advertisement information may be retrieved and parsed to generate a price list. A number of transactions that each shares a common payment amount may be determined and the number may reach a threshold value. Items from the price list may be matched with the common payment amount. The transaction records may be updated to indicate likely item level transaction information. In a variety of embodiments, the likely transaction information may be presented to a user.

  • Patent number: 10740795
Abstract: The disclosure herein relates to systems, methods, and devices for decreasing latency and/or preventing data leakage that may arise from advertisement insertion. In some embodiments, the systems, methods, and devices described herein provide for asynchronous advertisement selection and/or insertion separate from user-requested content retrieval and/or delivery, wherein the advertisement selection can be performed in parallel with and/or at a separate location from the user-requested content retrieval and/or delivery, thereby decreasing latency in rendering user-requested content. Further, in certain embodiments, the systems, methods, and devices described herein can prevent data leakage by preventing and/or circumventing the need to use cookie syncing among different DSPs, SSPs, or the like. Moreover, in some embodiments, the systems, methods, and devices described herein are configured to deliver advertisements as a native content, thereby further decreasing latency and/or preventing data leakage.

  • Patent number: 10650406
Abstract: An advertiser specifies an advertising campaign along with a budget, a duration and one or more objectives associated with the advertising campaign. An online system presenting advertisements from the advertising campaign determines an interval representing a portion of the duration, an interval budget, and one or more interval objectives. Historical information describing selection and presentation of advertisements by the online system is retrieved, and used to determine one or more filters limiting the number of opportunities to present an advertisement in which advertisements from the advertising campaign are included. The scaling filters may be based on the one or more interval objectives, bid amounts determined for advertisements in the advertising campaign, and bid amounts associated with advertisements previously selected for presentation form the historical data.

  • Patent number: 10621623
Abstract: An online system scores campaign audiences based on historical scoring data for similar audiences. A third party system selects a target audience and a day on which the target audience should be exposed to a campaign. The online system generates an availability grid and a score grid to determine a score for the target audience. Values in the availability grid are determined based on the availability of exposure time for the target audience on the specified date. Values in the score grid are based on historical scoring data for the same audience. The online system scores the target audience by interpolating between data points in the score grid based on a selected availability from the availability grid.

  • Patent number: 10592921
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for predicting target events occurrence for an advertisement campaign. A computing device according to some embodiments assigns a label to an advertisement as unlabeled, in response to a notification that a prerequisite event occurs for the advertisement. The device generates feature vectors based on data that relate to the advertisement. The device further trains a machine learning model using the feature vectors of the unlabeled advertisement based on a first term of an objective function, without waiting for a target event for the advertisement to occur. The first term depends on unlabeled advertisements. The device predicts a probability of a target event occurring for a new advertisement, by feeding data of the new advertisement to the trained machine learning model.

  • Patent number: 10572899
Abstract: An email server sends an email message to a user with an empty container. When the user uses an email client to open the email message, the email client transmits pulls data to be loaded into the empty container from a dynamic content provider. The dynamic content provider determines in real time a set of valid coupon offers for the user and transmits the set to the user in real-time for insertion into the empty container. The dynamic content provider may determine a rank for each of the set of the valid coupon offers, such that the rank is observed when the set of the coupon offers is inserted into the empty container.

  • Patent number: 10552858
Abstract: A system is described that receives first user identifiers from a first user space and a first set of hash values generated from a hash function applied to first information that identify users associated with the set of first user identifiers. The system determines a hash value included in both of the first set of hash values and a second set of hash values that are generated from the hash function being applied to second information that identify users associated with second user identifiers from a second user space. The system generates a mapping between the first user identifiers and the second user identifiers that each correspond to the same hash value. The system determines targeted information directed to the first user identifiers and based on the mapping, outputs the targeted information to user devices associated with the second user identifiers.
