  • Patent number: 8997540
Abstract: A method is described in which a length of hot rolled product is decelerated in the course of being passed through the rotating curved guide of a coiler. The product exits the coiler at a reduced velocity and is delivered to and progressively accumulated on a cylindrical drum as a helical formation of rings. The drum is rotated to continuously unwind the accumulating product at the reduced velocity. The tail end of the product is retained in the coiler until substantially all of the rings previously deposited on the drum have been unwound.

  • Patent number: 8984923
Abstract: A programmable machine for roll forming metal decoiled from a roll of metal and cutting the panels at a desired angle is provided. The roll former can form male and female edges on the metal which are necessary for a metal roof. The machine has a notcher to notch the metal where it is to be cut in order to avoid difficulty in cutting through a male or female edge. An exit cutter is provided after the metal has been roll formed. The angle at which the exit cutter can cut is also calculated in the programmable computer. A measuring device for measuring the roof and transferring the data to the programmable machine for cutting the panels completes a system for automatically and accurately cutting the panels for the roof.

  • Patent number: 8919172
Abstract: Threads are formed in situ throughout a bore of a sleeve inserted into a corresponding hole a substrate. A sleeve having a bore is inserted into a corresponding hole of a substrate. A mandrel is rotated through the sleeve. The mandrel has a threaded ended; the threaded end rotating throughout the bore of the sleeve forms threads throughout the bore. Prior to inserting the sleeve into the corresponding hole of the substrate, the sleeve can be placed onto the mandrel. In this case, the mandrel has an increasing diameter at the threaded end thereof, such that the sleeve rests on the mandrel towards the threaded end thereof where the bore has a smaller diameter than the mandrel. The mandrel is then rotated out of the sleeve in a direction opposite the direction in which the sleeve has been inserted into the corresponding hole of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 8915109
Abstract: Provided is a manufacturing method of a spiral duct including an elbow. The manufacturing method includes: bending projecting wave portions of metal plate members upward by a ball caster, the metal plate members being cut in such a manner that a straight lines and waves are formed; transferring the metal plate members using a pair of transfer rollers which are rotated by a first motor installed in a manufacturing apparatus of a spiral duct including an elbow; pressing a single folded portion and a double folded portion of the metal plate members using upper and lower pressing rollers while the transferred metal plate members are rolled into a circular shape by a joint jig; and cutting the elbow formed by the manufacturing apparatus using upper and lower cutters. According to the invention, an elbow curved at a gentle angle can be formed, and the projecting wave portions of the metal plate members are bent so as to form the elbow. Therefore, a fluid can smoothly flow along the curved portion of the elbow.
