Abstract: The technology performs obligations fulfillment monitoring. An input data stream of data messages is received including transaction data and reference data, obligation control logic, and a set of obligation parameters associated with the obligation control logic. An event data processor processes the input data stream using a current version of the obligation control logic and the set of obligation parameters. Subsequently, the event processor receives information to implement and execute obligation control logic that is dynamically-modified and different from the current version of the obligation control logic. The event processor generates and outputs an obligation fulfillment message based on the dynamically-modified obligation logic and transmits to an interested entity.

Abstract: A docking station to couple with a mobile device is disclosed. The docking station, in one embodiment, includes: a frame configured to detachably hold a mobile device; a connector configured to communicate with the mobile device when the mobile device is held by the frame; and a dial configured to change a character selection on a virtual character selection reel for composing a passcode entry; wherein the connector is configured to send a command to change the character selection to the mobile device.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for managing electronic messages of an electronic trading system in which orders are extracted from the electronic messages involve executing actions associated with respect to the orders and matching orders to counter orders. Matching orders may be based on a priority determined using a market quality index of the order and an associated market participant.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing a payment cardholder with multiple funding source options for a payment card are provided herein. First, a managing platform associates at least two funding sources with the payment card. The funding sources include a first funding source and a second funding source. Next, the first funding source is designated as a default funding source and a set of pre-defined routing rules for funding transactions made with the payment card. Then, the managing platform intercepts each transaction of the payment card and routes the transactions to an issuer funding system for the first funding source using the managing platform.

Abstract: A method for secure passcode entry is disclosed. The method, in one embodiment, includes: receiving a request for authenticating a user; in response to the request, generating a passcode entry interface including buttons corresponding to character options for composing a passcode entry, wherein the passcode entry interface is used to receive the passcode entry to authenticate a user of the payment card; identifying, on a touchscreen of the electronic device, a traffic region that experienced touch events prior to receiving the request; and displaying the passcode entry interface on the touchscreen such that at least a portion of the passcode entry interface is positioned in the traffic region.

Abstract: A method of secured passcode entry is disclosed. The method, in one embodiment, includes: receiving a request to authenticate a user; in response to receiving the request, generating a passcode entry interface that includes a plurality of buttons for the user to compose a passcode entry, each button representing a character of a set of characters, the set of characters having a natural sequence, wherein said generating includes displaying the buttons on a touchscreen of the electronic device in an arrangement that does not reflect the natural sequence of the set of characters; detecting a touch event, represented as a coordinate on the touchscreen, interacting with the touchscreen while the passcode entry interface is displayed, wherein the touch event is indicative of at least a portion of a passcode entry by the user; and verifying an authenticity of the passcode entry based at least partly on the touch event.

A currency amount or a number of credits is established on a vending device in order to obtain a product, service or access time from a vending device using a cellular telephone, or other personal wireless communication device. The personal wireless communication device activates an applet, which may be downloaded at the site, to establish a link with a vending machine universal wireless interface coupled to the vending machine device controller and also establishes a link with a remote server for authorizing credit for a vending transaction, which allows the vending transaction to take place.

The method includes inserting a code segment into a first webpage that is configured to populate fields included in the first webpage with received data, where the first webpage is displayed on a display device in a web browser application executing on a computer system; receiving data from a second webpage; and executing the code segment to populate the fields based on the received data.

Abstract: Pursuant to some embodiments, insurance systems, methods and devices are provided which include a data storage device for storing, updating and providing access to loss risk score data. In some embodiments, a request for information associated with a user's location identified by user location data may be received over a communications network. A computer processing system may then be operated to generate a safety score associated with said use location data, the safety score being based on a plurality of loss risk factors associated with the user location data. A response, including the safety score, may then be transmitted to the user over the communications network.

Abstract: Commercial size of spending wallet (“CSoSW”) is the total business spend of a business including cash but excluding bartered items. Commercial share of wallet (“CSoW”) is the portion of the spending wallet that is captured by a particular financial company. A modeling approach utilizes various data sources to provide outputs that describe a company's spend capacity. A mutual fund rating company can use this CSoW/CSoSW modeling approach to predict the performance of funds that invest in a particular industry or sector. In addition, since mutual funds often provide guidelines for selecting stocks, rating companies can use this modeling approach to predict the performance of companies in a fund's portfolio.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for capturing the full dynamic and multi-dimensional nature of the asset allocation problem through applications of stochastic dynamic programming and stochastic programming techniques. The system and method permit one to consider many rebalancing periods, many asset classes, dynamic cash flows, and a general representation of investor risk preference. The system and method further provide a novel and general framework for representing investor preference by representing utility by directly modeling risk aversion as a function of wealth. The system and method demonstrate how the optimal asset allocation depends on the investment horizon, wealth, and the investor's risk preference and how optimal asset allocation therefore changes over time depending on cash flow and the returns achieved.

Abstract: A variety of embodiments for hardware-accelerating the processing of financial market depth data are disclosed. A coprocessor, which may be resident in a ticker plant, can be configured to update order books based on financial market depth data at extremely low latency. Such a coprocessor can also be configured to generate a quote event in response to a limit order event being determined to modify the top of an order book.

Abstract: An insurance enrollment and underwriting method includes providing a first user interface with one or more controls for enabling a user to specify one or more health conditions in an enrollment application for pet health insurance. Data representing one or more health conditions specified through the first user interface is received. That data is electronically processed. Each condition is electronically flagged as a condition that is acceptable, precluded, or for manual review. A dollar limit of coverage for each of a plurality of diagnoses in lieu of one or more exclusions is calculated. The plurality of diagnoses include one or more diagnoses related to one or more of the health conditions. Where all conditions are and flagged as acceptable or determined to be acceptable following a manual review, an active policy is packaged to include coverage for each of the plurality of diagnoses up to each diagnosis' corresponding dollar limit of coverage.

Abstract: Various aspects relate to systems, methods or devices for processing overdrafts made by customers. A particular embodiment is directed towards a system that is configured to receive transaction data from customer-oriented terminals. The transaction data includes requests for monetary transfers on behalf of customers that hold a checking or savings account at a financial institution. In response to receiving the transaction data, the system accesses customer account information, which can include the amount of funds in the checking or savings accounts. The system determines whether sufficient funds exist in the accounts to cover the financial transactions. In response to a potential overdraft of one or more customer accounts, stored customer information is accessed to determine and authorize overdraft deferment eligibility of the customer based upon the stored customer information. The system defers an overdraft fee by providing a grace period during which funds can be transferred to cover the overdraft.

Abstract: Methods and systems for calculating values for indexes based on breakout currencies are provided. A prospective breakout index may be formed before an entity breaks out of a monetary union. Other aspects relate to calculating an initial index value on a breakout date. An initial exchange rate of the breakout currency may be combined with a breakout value and/or a base value. In one embodiment, the breakout value is the reciprocal of the initial exchange rate. Therefore, in accordance with certain embodiments, the initial index value of the breakout index may be equal to the base value. Further aspects relate to calculating a second index value. A second exchange rate of the breakout currency may be utilized with the fixed base value and the breakout value to calculate the second index value of the breakout index. Further aspects relate to creating a prospective currency unit for a monetary union.
