  • Patent number: 11813988
Abstract: A display image is obtained by superimposing an image showing a vehicle on a captured image obtained by capturing an image on a rear side from the vehicle. For example, the image showing the vehicle is a computer graphics image. For example, a change is made in a superimposed positional relationship between the captured image and the image showing the vehicle in accordance with motion of a viewpoint of a driver. Since the display image is not only made from the captured image obtained by capturing an image on a rear side from the vehicle, but the display image is obtained by superimposing the image showing the vehicle on the captured image, it is possible to easily provide a sense of distance by motion parallax.

  • Patent number: 11801749
Abstract: A system, such as a driver assistance system, arranged to form images of outside a vehicle for viewing from an eye box region within the vehicle. The system comprises an image capture device, a picture generating unit and an optical element. The image capture device is arranged to be mounted to the vehicle. The image capture device is arranged to capture images outside the vehicle. The optical element is disposed in front of the replay plane. The optical element has a focal length. The distance between the replay plane and the optical element is less that the focal length of the optical element such that the optical element forms a virtual image of each picture for viewing from the eye box region. The picture generating unit may be a holographic projector. The holographic projector may be arranged to form pictures on a replay plane. Each picture may correspond to an image captured by the image capture device.

  • Patent number: 11800151
Abstract: In a method to improve the coding efficiency of high-dynamic range (HDR) images, a decoder parses sequence processing set (SPS) data from an input coded bitstream to detect that an HDR extension syntax structure is present in the parsed SPS data. It extracts from the HDR extension syntax structure post-processing information that includes one or more of a color space enabled flag, a color enhancement enabled flag, an adaptive reshaping enabled flag, a dynamic range conversion flag, a color correction enabled flag, or an SDR viewable flag. It decodes the input bitstream to generate a preliminary output decoded signal, and generates a second output signal based on the preliminary output signal and the post-processing information.

  • Patent number: 11752943
Abstract: A method for automatically panning a view for a commercial vehicle includes receiving a video feed from at least one camera defining a field of view. A plurality of objects in the video feed, includes at least one wheel and at least one line, are identified. A path of each object in the plurality of objects is tracked through an image plane of the video feed. A trailer angle corresponding to each path is identified, the identified trailer angle is associated with the corresponding path, thereby generating a plurality of trailer angle measurements. The plurality of paths are down selected to a single path and identifying a single trailer angle measurement corresponding to the single path.

  • Patent number: 11750790
Abstract: A viewing direction may define an angle/visual portion of a spherical video at which a viewing window is directed. A trajectory of viewing direction may include changes in viewing directions for playback of spherical video. Abrupt changes in the viewing directions may result in jerky or shaky views of the spherical video. Changes in the viewing directions may be stabilized to provide stabilized views of the spherical video. Amount of stabilization may be limited by a margin constraint.

  • Patent number: 11745658
Abstract: A method for providing visual information about at least part of an environment on a display device is disclosed. The method involves detecting a first vehicle travelling ahead by a sensor device, requesting and receiving the visual information about the environment, a view onto which is concealed partly by the first vehicle, capturing an image of a certain part of the environment including at least part of the first vehicle, and displaying the image of the certain part of the environment and the received visual information as a video stream embedded in the image on the display device. When it is determined that an object different from the first vehicle is present in the certain part of the environment and that the object cannot be driven over, the displaying of the visual information is modified so that the at least one object is clearly visible for a driver.

  • Patent number: 11702010
Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head and a display device disposed in the mirror head and behind a reflective element. An actuator is operable to adjust the mirror head between a mirror mode orientation and a display mode orientation. Operation of the actuator moves a cam follower to cause a pin at the mirror head to travel along the groove to adjust orientation of the mirror head. With the mirror head in the mirror mode orientation, a first voltage is applied to adjust the mirror head out of the mirror mode orientation. A second voltage that is lower than the first voltage is then applied to adjust the mirror head toward the display mode orientation. A third voltage that is higher than the second voltage is then applied to adjust the mirror head into the display mode orientation.
