The LMPF may be deployed as a virtual or physical network function in a 5G network or as an application function interfacing with the 5G network over a standardized interface.

The transmitting method further generates presentation time information indicating a presentation time of the predetermined data unit, based on reference time information received from an external source; and transmits the predetermined data unit, first control information which includes the generated presentation time information, and second control information which includes leap second information indicating whether or not the presentation time information is a time that is before a leap second adjustment. A receiving method receives the predetermined data unit, first control information, and second control information; and reproduces the received predetermined data unit based on the first and second control information that are received.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing subscriptions. A media guidance application obtaining viewing patterns of a subscriber and determining a first and second media package of interest to the subscriber. A first and second release schedule are obtained related to media content in the first and second media packages. The media guidance application predicts a first viewing impact of the first subscription and a second viewing impact of the second subscription, for the upcoming time period, wherein the viewing impact indicates a total predicted amount of time spent viewing the media packages in the upcoming time period. An available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period is also determined. The media guidance application generates a subscription recommendation for the upcoming time period based on the first viewing impact, second viewing impact, and available amount of time for viewing media in the upcoming time period.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for inserting advertisement content into a program content stream includes receiving, by a headend content server, the program content stream. The program content stream includes an advertisement insertion cue. The method further includes detecting the advertisement insertion cue in the program content stream, and the advertisement insertion cue indicates an insertion point in the program content stream for inserting an advertisement. The method further includes modifying the advertisement insertion cue to indicate an expiration date and time for playout of a first advertisement content to be inserted into the program content stream, and inserting the first advertisement content into the program content stream.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a display apparatus including a controller and a method for displaying view history in the display apparatus. The controller is configured to cause the display apparatus to perform: after logging in to a cloud account on the display apparatus, in response to a command for watching a first video item on the display of the display apparatus, generating a first view history record corresponding to the first video item; sending the first view history record to a server; inserting the first view history record into a first place of a second history information list; in response to receiving a command for displaying a view history interface, sending a request for view history to the server; in response to receiving first history information list, displaying preset images of first view history records included in the received first history information list on the view history interface.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for generating audio descriptions of live events in near real time. Visual elements are identified in video frames. Semantic representations of the visual elements are determined and used to generate an audio description. The audio description is provided to a client device for playback during the live event as an alternative to the original audio content.

Abstract: A system may provide supplemental content to a viewer of a content item through use of an embedded identifier indicating an address of associated supplemental content identifying data. The supplemental content identifying data may identify one or more supplemental content items associated with the content item and available to the viewer. An address or other identifier in the supplemental content identifying data may be used to retrieve at least a portion of the available supplemental content items, and a display may be generated combining the content item with the supplemental content. In some embodiments, the identifier may be securely provided to a client and may be authenticated as part of retrieving supplemental content associated with the content item. The identifier may comprise a trusted token or security token used to authenticate the supplemental content identifying data associated with the content item.

Abstract: Techniques are described for expanding and/or improving the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 television protocol in robustly delivering the next generation broadcast television services. In a boundary region between first and second broadcast stations in which a receiver can pick up signals from both stations, a primary tuner receiving signals from plural antennae presents a demanded service while a secondary tuner uses a single antenna to scan for duplicate transmissions of the service, with handing off between the tuners being effected between scanning and service presentation.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for allowing a user to dynamically manage rich media content in an efficient and effective manner. Tiles including media content, personalized video selections, content pack upgrades, and promotions for featured content are presented to a user. Each tile may include calls to view, purchase, discuss, rate, review, or read about associated content. Tiles may be presented as still images, logos, text, or live video. Multiple tiles may be manipulated using keyboard, mouse, touchpad, and/or touchscreen movements, motions, and gestures. In particular examples, an overlay provided on top of a tile mechanism provides a user with additional navigation and management options.

Abstract: Systems and methods for time-shifted prefetching of predicted content for wireless users. Prefetching video data can include retrieving video data and feature data and generating a video candidate set including selected videos of the related video data. The method can further include determining predicted videos using a machine learning algorithm. The predicted videos can be videos of the video candidate set that are likely to be viewed by a user at a future time. The method can further include prefetching the predicted videos by downloading the predicted videos.

Abstract: A system for construing a content presentation is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the system includes Input/Output (I/O) circuitry to receive an indicated location, and memory to store scheduling information that includes a location information and date information associated with the location information. A processor identifies at least one media segment for inclusion into a customized media programming stream based on (a) comparing the indicated location to the location information from the scheduling information; and (b) comparing the current date to the associated date information from the scheduling information. Further, the processer assembles a customized media programming stream by adding the at least one identified media segment to the customized media programming stream. The I/O circuitry transmits the customized media programming stream for presentation on a user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for determining a preference of a user for or against a participant of an event when a media asset relating to the event is being played based on monitoring user reactions to the event. Specifically, the media guidance application may detect a change of at least one of the biometric state (e.g., pulse rate, blood pressure, etc.) and physiological state (e.g., facial expression, gesture, body movement, etc.) with a user. The media guidance application may determine that an event has occurred within the sporting event that triggered the change. The media guidance application may determine that the user favors the first participant over the second participant, if the user reacts positively towards a score for the first participant in the event.

Abstract: A system may selectively deliver interactive portions of a piece of content, based for example on a recipient user's historical tendency to use interactive portions of prior content. Multiple levels of interactivity may be defined for a given piece of content, such as an advertisement, and different users may receive different levels of interactivity based on how much they use interactive features. Some users may receive no interactive features at all, while others may receive the interactive features, and despite the fact that all of the users' devices may be perfectly capable of processing the interactive features for the user. The omission from transmission may conserve bandwidth and transmission resources.
