  • Patent number: 7655054
Abstract: A wax core is dipped multiple times in liquid clear wax and water sequentially. Thereafter, the candle is dipped multiple times in a first liquid pigmented wax to form a first pigmented layer. When the desired shade is achieved, one or more layers of clear wax are added followed by dipping in water after each clear layer is added to produce a primed surface layer at ±1 degree ambient. This sequence is continued by applying a second pigmented wax layer to three-quarters of the candle ball, a third pigmented wax layer to one-half of the candle ball, and a fourth pigmented wax layer to one-quarter of the candle ball. An outside white wax is formed by dipping the ball into white wax in preparation for adding an outside color.

  • Patent number: 7648539
Abstract: The present invention is a hybrid diesel fuel and method of manufacture. The fuel composes a petroleum diesel fuel mixed into a biosynthetic waste or virgin oil and further containing a stabilizer. The hybrid fuel consists essentially of about 10% to 50% of Diesel Number 1, Diesel Number 2, or Farm Diesel petroleum fuels, and up to 90% filtered and polished biosynthetic oil, measured by volume. The biosynthetic oil can contain all levels of common commercial vegetable and animal fats in any ratio. The hybrid fuel also contains up to about 0.17% stabilizer, which further contains cetane boosters, cleaning agents to remove deposits from the fuel system, a lubricant, demulsifiers, and anti-gelling agents. The invention functions as biocide to inhibit bacterial growth. The invention is substantially equivalent to Diesel Number 2 in terms of power and engine speed, but is cleaner burning and considerably less costly.

  • Patent number: 7641706
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a naturally occurring group of biological compounds to produce a combustible fuel that may be used in either internal combustion engines or as a burnable heat source. These compounds are a set of biomolecules produced by some bacteria in nutrient limiting environmental conditions when storage of carbon is necessary. More specifically this invention envisions the use of polyhydroxy alkanoates (PHA), especially those ranging in size from C4 to C8, to produce the combustible fuel.

  • Patent number: 7547385
Abstract: A method for producing a supercritical cryogenic fuel (SCCF) includes dissolving a hydrogen gas in fuel value proportions into a supercritical hydrocarbon fluid. The method is performed by placing a hydrogen gas and a hydrocarbon fluid at a pressure greater than the critical pressure of the hydrocarbon, placing the hydrogen gas and the hydrocarbon fluid at a temperature below or approximately equal to the critical temperature of the hydrocarbon forming the supercritical hydrocarbon fluid, and then mixing to dissolve the hydrogen gas into the supercritical hydrocarbon fluid. A system for performing the method includes a vortex mixer configured to turbulently mix the hydrogen gas and the supercritical hydrocarbon fluid. The supercritical cryogenic fuel (SCCF) produced by the method and the system includes the supercritical hydrocarbon fluid with a selected mole fraction of the hydrogen gas dissolved therein.

  • Patent number: 7544645
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to triester-based lubricant compositions. The present invention is also directed to methods of making these and other similar lubricant compositions. In some embodiments, the methods for making such triester-based lubricants utilize a biomass precursor and/or low value Fischer-Tropsch (FT) products (e.g., alcohols) so as to produce high value triester-based lubricants. In some embodiments, such triester-based lubricants are derived, at least in part, from FT alcohols and fatty acids. The fatty acids can be from a bio-based source (i.e., biomass, renewable source) or can be derived from FT alcohols via oxidation.
