  • Patent number: 10511828
Abstract: Projector with rolling illumination to incrementally project a pattern over a scene within an image sensor FOV. Only a portion of the FOV is illuminated by the projected pattern at any given instant in time. The image sensor may be operable with a rolling shutter to incrementally collect a frame of image data representative of the scene. The projection roll position and rate may be synchronized with the roll position and rate of the image sensor shutter so that the portion of a scene illuminated by the projector at any given instant in time spatially overlaps the portion of the scene being sampled by the image sensor. When a shutter has rolled through one complete integration cycle over a frame time, the pattern projector has also rolled through one complete illumination cycle. Lower projector duty cycles associated with rolling illumination may enable more efficient operation and/or higher on-state radiant intensities.

  • Patent number: 10508984
Abstract: An in-liquid state of a mobile device is detected by processing color components indicative of an intensity of the ambient light at different wavelengths and a pressure data indicative of ambient pressure. A first plausibility index indicates a likelihood of an air/liquid transition as a function of variations of at least two color components. A second plausibility index indicates a likelihood of an air/liquid transition as a function of variations of said ambient pressure. If both the first and the second plausibility indices indicate a likely air/liquid transition event, an in-liquid state signal is generated.

  • Patent number: 10491873
Abstract: A scanning observation apparatus (10) deflects illumination light with an actuator (25) through an illumination optical system (26) to scan an object (32), subjects light from the object (32) to photoelectric conversion with an optical detector (44), performs processing with an image processor (46), and displays an image of the object (32) on a display (60). A memory (35) stores information on optical characteristics related to chromatic aberration of magnification of the illumination optical system (26) relative to light of predetermined colors. A scanning pattern calculator (45) calculates a scanning pattern, on the object (32), of light of each color using the information. Using the scanning pattern, the image processor (46) calibrates a plot position yielded by a photoelectric conversion signal from the optical detector (44) for light of each color and generates an image of the object (32), thereby more easily correcting the chromatic aberration of magnification.

  • Patent number: 10477190
Abstract: An imaging system includes an imaging scope, a controller, a camera, and a processor. The imaging scope is selectively rotatable about a longitudinal axis relative to a horizon plane. The imaging scope has at least three optical channels, each including a respective objective that captures light. The objectives are positioned such that respective viewing direction axes of the optical channels extend at least substantially parallel to one another. The controller activates a pair of optical channels that is at least as parallel relative to the horizon plane as any other pair of optical channels. The camera generates a first image representative of light captured by a first optical channel of the activated pair of optical channels, and a second image representative of light captured by a second optical channel of the activated pair of optical channels. The processor generates a 3D image using the first and second images.

  • Patent number: 10455151
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a signal processing circuit and an imaging apparatus by which a plurality of images including an overlapping region can be accurately stitched. Stitching (projective transformation and warping) is performed on direct-transformation region images on the basis of camera initial condition information (information on directions of camera modules) stored in an EEPROM. Stitching is performed on overlapping-region images under the determined composition condition. Stitching is performed on buffer region images by the use of a value (e.g., moderate value) determined on the basis of a projective transformation condition of the direct-transformation region images and a projective transformation condition of the overlapping-region images. The present disclosure is applicable to, for example, a signal processing circuit used in an imaging apparatus such as a camera.

  • Patent number: 10455281
Abstract: A process adapts user-initiated search queries. The process executes at a client device with a microphone. The process downloads audio fingerprints from a remote server for a plurality of video programs, and downloads information that correlates the audio fingerprint to the video programs. The audio fingerprints are preselected according to relevancy criteria, including stored user preferences and prior search queries by the user. The audio fingerprints and correlating information are stored locally. The process detects ambient sound using the microphone and computes one or more sample audio fingerprints from the detected ambient sound. The process matches a sample audio fingerprint to a locally stored audio fingerprint and uses the correlating information to identify a first video program corresponding to the matched sample audio fingerprint. The process then receives user input to initiate a search query. The process provides auto-complete suggestions for the search query based on the first video program.

  • Patent number: 10448102
Abstract: Systems and methods for allowing a user to access a different version of a blocked media asset. These systems and methods allow a first user to request access to the blocked media asset from a second user who has authority to approve access to the blocked media asset. These systems and methods determine different versions of the media asset available from different sources. These systems and methods notify the second user that the first user has requested access to the blocked media asset and include, in the notification, an option to unblock any one of the different versions of the media asset available from the different sources. This allows the second user to determine if there is a version of the media asset that the second user deems suitable for unblocking.

  • Patent number: 10448121
Abstract: An online system presents content in videos to users. Content providers may value having their content injected into videos from certain sources more than others. This preference is quantified as a brand value score. The brand value score is determined as a function of user engagement with a source of the video and, to account for brand value, the system performs a two-stage auction. First, the system determines whether to inject any content into a video by determining a distribution of brand value of videos per demand for videos in a previous period and filling a projected demand for the content in a current period to determine a brand value threshold. Then, any videos having a brand value above the threshold are eligible for the second stage of the selection process where the system performs an auction where projected benefit of presenting the content is compared to projected loss.
