Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detecting the departure of a vehicle from a set of land boundaries. A boundary determination component is configured to determine an associated set of lane boundaries for a vehicle. A kinematic sensor is configured to measure at least one kinematic parameter associated with the vehicle. A lane departure warning system is configured to determine if the vehicle is crossing one of the determined set of lane boundaries from the at least one kinematic parameter and provide a response signal if the vehicle is crossing one of the determined set of lane boundaries.

Abstract: A video-platform server may obtain and provide context-specific metadata to remote presentation devices via an application programming interface. Context-specific metadata may include tags describing one or more assets (social-media-enhanced annotations or other such enhancements arising from viewer selections, e.g.) that are depicted in or otherwise associated with a given sequential position (a segment in a video playback, e.g.).

An example method for calculating granular data of a region for media audience measurement includes determining, by executing first instructions via a processor, aggregate behavioral data associated with a measurement of a media audience of a target region; determining, by executing second instructions via the processor, aggregate demographics data of the target region; and determining, by executing third instructions via the processor, granular data of a source region. Abstract: A media processing system including a media studio allows the user to bring the studio along to live events. The media studio allows for preview, e.g., simultaneous preview, of multiple media input items (referred to herein as an aggregated media item), generating a media output item based on the multiple media input items, sharing the media output item, and storing the media output item for future viewing, all via a remote operator console. The media studio may be programmed to generate recommendations for the media output item and/or generate the media output item directly based on predetermined rules.

Abstract: A device is disclosed that includes an interface component configured to generate a user interface for playing and requesting videos and a reception component configured to receive a subset of videos from a set of videos in accordance with a video streaming session having a preset duration of time and play the subset of videos for the preset duration of time via the user interface. The device further includes a request component configured to request an increase to the preset duration of time of the video streaming session by a segment of time after reception of a video included in the subset of videos, wherein in response to the request, the reception component is configured to receive the subset of videos for an amount of time including the preset duration of time plus the segment of time and play the subset of videos for the amount of time.

Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein enable a more efficient allocation of one or more shared network resources (e.g., bandwidth, memory, processor time, etc.) amongst a number of client devices based on media content data complexity and client device resource constraints in order to better manage perceptual playback quality of adaptive streaming content. In some implementations, a method includes aligning sequences of one or more temporal segments such that time boundaries of temporal segments across the sequences are in alignment; and, selecting segment representations for each temporal segment based on a combination of the sequence alignment and perceptual quality level values associated with available segment representations, such that a combination of resulting perceptual quality levels satisfies a joint quality criterion. Each sequence is associated with a respective one of a number of client devices sharing a network resource and an instance of a respective video stream.

Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations comprise obtaining product image data and comparing image data of a media program with the product image data. A product placement in the media program is determined based on the comparison, and an entry in a product placement database is generated. The entry comprises identifiers of the media program, a product descriptor descriptive of the product, and a context descriptor descriptive of a presentation scheme used for the first product placement. A rating is assigned to the media program with respect to the product in accordance with the entry of the product placement in the product placement database and other entries of other product placements in the product placement database. Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for determining media access sessions. In an example, an apparatus to determine media access sessions includes a record locator to access, in a data store, a first media impression record indicative of a first media access segment, and a second media impression record indicative of a second media access segment and a view counter. The view counter is to update at least one of the first or second media impression records in the data store, when the second media access segment occurs within a threshold time after the first media access segment, to indicate that the first and second media access segments are associated with a same first media access session.

Abstract: Creating audience segments for campaigns is described. In one or more embodiments, an audience manager is configured to create, for one or more videos, a video audience segment associated with the video by storing, in a data management platform, user identifiers of users that viewed the video. The user identifiers can be received from a client player each time that a video is played at the client player. The audience manager is further configured to extract demographic information from a demographic report associated with the video that is received from a demographics provider, and to associate the demographic information with the video audience segment. The audience manager is further configured to generate a target audience segment for a campaign by merging and combining user identifiers that are included in two or more video audience segments.

Abstract: Systems and methods for preventing spoilers from being presented to a user based on user activity are described herein. In some embodiments, the media guidance application may predict events that a user may not wish to be spoiled based on user activity, and prevent spoilers for the predicted events from being presented. For example, by using received data identifying purchase activities associated with the user, a media guidance application may identify events associated with the purchase activity. The media guidance application may identify content associated with these events, and prevent the identified content from being presented to the user in response to determining that the identified content includes spoilers for the events.

Abstract: In a pilotless flying object detection system, a masking area setter sets a masking area to be excluded from detection of a pilotless flying object which appears in a captured image of a monitoring area, based on audio collected by a microphone array. An object detector detects the pilotless flying object based on the audio collected by the microphone array and the masking area set by the masking area setter. An output controller superimpose sound source visual information, which indicates the volume of a sound at a sound source position, at the sound source position of the pilotless flying object in the captured image and displays the result on a first monitor in a case where the pilotless flying object is detected in an area other than the masking area.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for broadcast state agnostic timeline metadata presentation on a companion device is implemented on a computing device and includes: receiving timeline metadata associated with a video content item in a pseudo-live mode, where the timeline metadata is received from a timeline metadata provision system according to a timeline for an original broadcast of the video content item, and presenting the timeline metadata as it is received from said timeline metadata provision system, where the presenting is in parallel to an original or non-original broadcast of the video content item playing on an associated viewing device.

Abstract: Displaying a graphical user interface on a second-screen device. The graphical user interface can include a partial video stream displayed in a video display area on a touchscreen of the second-screen device and a contextual panel in an active display area on the touchscreen. The contextual panel can include content associated with the partial video stream. The displayed partial video stream can be associated with a video stream displayed by a primary display with the two displayed video streams being associated with the same content and substantially synchronized.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method (20) for operating a mobile device (10). The mobile device (10) is configured to download a media stream comprising a plurality of data segments (S1-Sn) and to playback the media stream during download. The media stream is downloaded as a plurality of blocks of data segments and each block of data segments comprises a set of the plurality of data segments (S1-Sn) representing a corresponding media stream portion of the media stream. According to the method, a required playback time (T) for a next block of data segments to be downloaded is determined depending on a predetermined required minimum playback time (C) which defines a required minimum time duration for playing back the media stream portion provided by the next block of data segments.

Abstract: A video distribution technique permits individual subscribers to pay a nominal fee to follow celebrities and receive videos directly therefrom. An individual may qualify as a broadcaster by having a sufficient fan base as measured by the number of followers in existing social media services. The broadcaster uploads video to a central processing service where it may be transcoded to a convenient communication protocol for distribution. In addition, a warning message is sent to all subscribers of a particular broadcaster to indicate the impending arrival of an incoming video from the broadcaster. In one embodiment, the broadcaster can limit distribution of the video based on a geographic restriction. The broadcaster provides the restriction data and the system filters the subscriber list to include subscribers that meet the geographic requirements, such as residence in a particular area or current presence within a certain area. Messages sent only the targeted subscribers.
