Abstract: Embodiments provide a Polar code transmission method and apparatus. A bit sequence is encoded into a code sequence using Polar code by a network device. The bit sequence contains a control signaling and a Cyclic Redundancy Code (CRC) sequence. The code sequence is transformed into M copies such that an ith information copy of the M copies multiples by a first matrix of the power of (i?1). M is an integer and M>0. M copies of codeword was encoded by Polar code, the M copies implicitly conveys different time stamp information, which is suitable for the transmission of PBCH in 5G communication system, signaling overhead is also reduced.

  • Patent number: 11044121
Abstract: A modified orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system based on virtual decomposition of the channel is proposed. The system is fully compatible with standard OFDM transmitters and maintains several blocks of standard OFDM receivers. The proposed approach achieves also incoherent reception of multicarrier signals even with a simple autocovariance DPSK detector. This novel system substantially surpasses the performance of current approaches while requiring low computational complexity. Two preferred embodiments are described; one with coherent reception using pilot signals, and the second with incoherent receiver of differentially encoded signals.

  • Patent number: 11025519
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for measuring packet delays are provided. An input port of a network device is tapped to duplicate an input packet stream having a first packet. An output port of the network device is tapped to duplicate an output packet stream including the first packet. The duplicated input packet stream and the duplicated output packet stream is transmitted to a programmable device. The first packet in the first input packet stream is matched to the first packet in the first output packet stream. An arrival time and a departure time for the first packet is measured. The difference between the departure time of the first packet and the arrival time of the first packet is determined and the value is reported to an external collector.

  • Patent number: 11019484
Abstract: Systems and/or methods for distributing Internet-of-Things (IoT) can include a Service Capability Server (SCS) for facilitating an exchange of messages between an IoT device and an Application Server (AS). The SCS may store a priority value associated with the IoT device in a priority value database. The system may determine that a network condition has experienced a first change (e.g., an outage occurs), and may store incoming messages in a message database. Upon determining that the network has experienced a second change (e.g., the outage ends), the SCS may send the message to the IoT in a sequence of transmissions based, at least in part, on the priority value. In some instances, the priority value may be determined based on a registration process, the message, and/or one or more device parameter(s) of the IoT device.

  • Patent number: 11012920
Abstract: An access point that implements operating modes in which beacons may be selectively disabled. Beacons may be disabled when no device is actively associated through the access point. Beacons may be enabled in response to one or more triggers, which may include events such as a client forming an association through the access point following a probe request message identifying the access point. In addition, active beaconing may be triggered by user input or may occur during periodic brief intervals that allow client devices to discover the network identifier for the access point. Selective control of beaconing may lead to more effective wireless communication, particularly in areas where users congregate with computers implementing soft APs for personal networks.

  • Patent number: 11013041
Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses for a Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR) enhanced Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH). These techniques include a user device transmitting a request to a base station for a UE-specific PDCCH format. In aspects, the user device transmits an uplink Radio Resource Control (RRC) message or a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE). The base station can then grant the user device a particular PDCCH format, based on the request, by using downlink RRC messages or a MAC CE. This allows the user device to identify the UE-specific PDCCH format and an appropriate aggregation level with which to decode messages on the PDCCH. These techniques reduce the amount of power consumed when decoding the messages on PDCCH in comparison to conventional techniques that rely on blind decoding.

  • Patent number: 11012281
Abstract: Devices and methods of determining offsets for different eNBs in a dynamic switched CoMP network are generally described. A UE may receive, in an RRCConnectionReconfiguration message, DL parameter sets associated with different eNBs and having reference signal information for a PSS, SSS and DRS. The UE may receive reference signals based on the DL set associated with the eNB and determine a timing/frequency offset based on the reference signals. The offsets may be used to decode a dynamically switched PDSCH indicated by a PDCCH. The DL sets may indicate which PDCCH to detect or the PDCCH from the same cNB may be used and the PDSCH determined from a DCI in the PDCCH. A UL DCI may indicate which of UL parameter sets to use. The UL sets may indicate a reference signal to determine path loss and a timing advance value.

  • Patent number: 11013040
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for identifying transitory WiFi users and providing a differential treatment of such users in terms of delaying associating steps between user stations (STAs) and an access point (AP). A transitory user refers to a user or user device that connects to a WiFi AP but does not run applications that require association or assigning IP addresses, such as short-term or temporary connected WiFi users that are on the move. In an embodiment, a STA connects to an AP. Upon the STA indicating its transitory behavior to the AP or the AP detecting criteria of transitory behavior of the STA, the STA obtains a delay time value from the AP. The STA then delays sending an association request to the AP, or alternatively, the AP delays handling the association request from the STA in accordance with the delay time value.

  • Patent number: 11013014
Abstract: According to one configuration, a wireless network includes first wireless stations and second wireless stations. The first wireless stations and second wireless stations support different wireless communication protocols and compete to use a wireless channel. Via monitoring of a control channel generated by a management resource associated with at least the first wireless stations, a given wireless station of the second wireless stations determines availability (unused time slots, frames, etc.) of the wireless channel via monitoring of the wireless channel itself and/or a control channel. In the latter instance, the control channel indicates scheduled usage of the shared wireless channel by at least the first wireless stations. In accordance with the scheduled usage as indicated by the control channel, the given wireless station transmits over the wireless channel during free slots, times, gaps, etc., to communicate with a remote wireless station of the second wireless stations.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a novel architecture for capturing contextual attributes on host computers that execute one or more machines and providing the captured contextual attributes to middlebox service engines executing at the edge of a physical datacenter. In some embodiments, the middlebox service engines run in an edge host (e.g., an NSX Edge) that provides routing services and connectivity to external networks (e.g., networks external to an NSX-T deployment). Some embodiments execute a context header insertion processor that receives contextual attributes relating to network events and/or process events on the machines collected using a guest-introspection (GI) agent on each machine.
