  • Patent number: 4927273
Abstract: A linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly includes a rail having a U-shaped transverse cross section and a pair of guide grooves defined on the opposite side walls of the rail and a slider which is received in the U-shaped rail to travel along the rail. The slider is preferably provided with a pair of endless circulation paths located side-by-side each of which is provided with a plurality of rolling members. A part of each of the endless circulation paths is defined as a load path section which is located opposite to the corresponding one of the pair of guide grooves and where the plurality of rolling members are partly exposed to come into engagement with the pair of guide grooves of the rail to provide a rolling contact between the slider and the rail. The slider is also provided with a feed-in port for each of the pair of endless circulation paths, and thus the rolling members may be fed into the endless circulation paths through the feed-in ports.

  • Patent number: 4925077
Abstract: An arcuate turning guide for a running web over which the running web is floatingly suspended on a cushion of air. The guide has a pair of air nozzle slots positioned transversely and spaced circumferentially apart from one another, the slots being directed toward one another for providing pressurized air to said air cushion. The air slots are defined in part by a nozzle knife which has a sharp nozzle defining edge and also has a heel edge, the guide has a pocket for securely receiving the knife heel edge, and an adjustment is provided for the sharp edge to vary the width of the nozzle slot. The guide has a pair of vane members, one located at each transverse end of the guide, and adjustable means are provided for selectively adjusting said vane members transversely toward and away from one another.

  • Patent number: 4925078
Abstract: A gripper feed devices comprises a housing, first and second tension grippers, first and second toothed rods fixedly connected to the first and second tension grippers, and a rotatable pinion meshing with the toothed rods for converting the rotational movement of the pinion into linear, symmetrical movement of the tension grippers in opposite directions. The pinion is cyclically driven, via a main shaft and a crank disk mounted on the main shaft, by two piston/cylinder arrangements connected at different points on the crank disk. The two piston/cylinder arrangements are designed to operate alternately and in opposite directions, thus imparting a cyclical rotation to the pinion. An adjusting disk mounted on the main shaft and an adjusting sled to which the piston/cylinder arrangements are connected are also provided to vary the stroke length of the piston, and thereby the extent of linear movement of the tension grippers.

  • Patent number: 4917283
Abstract: A strip feed roller for feeding paper or paper-like material or the like. The roller is created for use as a part of apparatus, such as a folder machine, or the like. The strip feed roller has a cylindrical surface portion of substantially uniform diameter along the length thereof. The cylindrical surface portion of the roller has axially extending relatively straight sections of relatively hard or rigid material, such as metal, and relatively straight sections of a rubber-like material, such as urethane. The sections are arranged in alternating relationship. Thus, the roller is capable of applying a firm grip upon a strip, without creasing or wrinkling or cutting the strip. Also, the roller is capable of feeding the strip accurately and precisely without angular, lateral, or longitudinal slippage.
