  • Patent number: 4847938
Abstract: A cleaning apparatus, particularly for cleaning window panes includes a shaft-like hollow handle and a replaceable approximately strip-shaped cleaning tool mounted between two clamping jaws which are adjustable relative to one another. One of the clamping jaws has an extension by with which it is connected to the handle by means of a hinged bolt. This cleaning apparatus is superior as compared with usual apparatuses in that the extension of the one clamping jaw is pivotably connected to an elongation of the handle and comprises at its broad side facing away from the elongation an arcuately extending, relatively coarse toothing which is in cooperation in a manner known per se with a spring-loaded stop lever guided in the handle and formed as a slide.

  • Patent number: 4847936
Abstract: A toothbrush in which the bristles define a surface across the width of the handle having a convex portion along the midline of the handle and concave portions on either side of the convex portion, thereby to conform to the corresponding complementary surface portions of the molars. In a preferred embodiment the bristles are longest along the center of the handle and shortest along the sides of the handle. To facilitate gripping, the handle has a cross-section that is concave along the front of the handle and of uniform thickness across the width of the handle. To minimize displacement of the handle when brushing various portions of the teeth, the handle is rearwardly curved along the lower portion thereof and is forwardly curved along the upper portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 4841591
Abstract: A golf bag cart wheel cleaner for cleaning the wheels of a hand-operated golf bag cart. The invention includes a platform having an apertured generally horizontal upper surface which is structured to allow dirt and debris to pass downwardly therethrough. A pair of elongated horizontally disposed brushes are also included having downwardly pointing bristles spaced above the apertured surface a distance somewhat less than the diameter of golf bag cart wheels. Dirt and debris are dislodged from the wheels as the golf bag cart is manually moved along between the brushes atop the apertured surface. The brushes are preferably pivotally suspended to swing longitudinally while maintaining a generally horizontal orientation so as to accommodate various diameter wheels.

  • Patent number: 4832262
Abstract: A heat exchanger member contoured to fit along one side of an exhaust pipe is retained in place on the exhaust pipe by clamps. In one form of the invention the exhaust pipe forms a part of the heat exchanger reservoir in which case leak preventive adhesive secures the heat exchanger member to the pipe. The heat exchanger member is provided with intake and discharge tubes, the intake tube connected to the pump of an existing windshield washer assembly and discharge tube being connected, through a manifold to the discharge nozzles adjacent to the windshield. In another form of the invention, the discharge from the heat exchanger is directed along a header or manifold of a nozzle assembly adjacent to and for washing the rear window of the automobile. In still another form of the invention, the heat exchanger forms an essentially closed reservoir so that the exhaust pipe does not come in contact with the fluid flowing therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4831678
Abstract: A cleaning tool with a bristle body has bristle sets on its underside. On its top side a handle is removably fixed. In order to attain a varied use of cleaning tool, less weight of the bristle body and a simple fastening of the handle, the bristle body has a hollow chamber extending over its length, which is opened in the area of its top side by a continuous slit. Furthermore the handle attachment has a clamping piece disposed in the hollow chamber and at least partially adapted to its cross section, which is connected with the handle by means of a threaded pin extending through the slit.

  • Patent number: 4831680
Abstract: A windshield wiper blade holder has an auxiliary lever arm having first and second free ends. Each one of the free ends presses against the back of a windshield wiper blade for increasing the force applied to the windshield wiper blade when the curvature of a curved windshield increases. The auxiliary lever arm is preferrably hinged to the armature at a point between the hinging of the armature to a driving arm of a vehicle and an end of the armature to which a compensator is pivotably attached. Various compensators and secondary compensators can be pivotably attached to the armature for holding a wiper blade and for cooperating with the auxiliary arm for enhancing the force pressing the wiper blade against the convex windshield.

  • Patent number: 4831679
Abstract: The invention relates to a wiper arm assembly for motor vehicles, comprising an oscillating mounting head (1), a rod (2) rigidly secured to the mounting head (1), a slidable element (3) pivotally (12) secured to a channel (4) and arm extension (7) and capable of sliding on said rod (2). Inside the channel (4) spring means are provided which are capable of biasing the arm extension (7) towards the surface to be wiped. A stationary bar (8) is rigidly attached to the vehicle body and a movable bar (9) is pivotally secured (10) to the stationary bar (8) at one of its ends and pivotally secured (11) to the slidable element (3) at the other of its ends. When the mounting head (1) and said rod (2) are oscillating the movable bar (9) oscillates too and imparts a back and forth movement to the slidable element (3), to the channel (4) and to the arm extension ( 7). A radial movement is thus superimposed on the oscillating movement.

  • Patent number: 4821637
Abstract: A baling machine for forming large cylindrical bales of hay has a gate which can be raised to enable a campleted bale to pass under it for discharge. The bale initially rests on a horizontal support which is biased by a compression spring to swing to a discharge position in which it forms a ramp down which the bale rolls onto the ground. The support is maintained in the horizontal position by a abutment bar on the gate during the time that the gate is closed, but is released on the gate opening. In this way energy from the bale is not used for swinging the ramp, so the bale tends to roll further so that it is properly clear of the gate so as not to interfere with the closing of the gate.

  • Patent number: 4821358
Abstract: A golf club head washing device, suitable for attachment to a golf cart or for mounting on posts at various locations on a golf course, includes a cylindrical housing for holding a cleaning fluid. The housing has guide rails located in it for supporting a pair of plastic brush blocks, with the brushes thereof facing one another across a diameter of the housing. A removable cover is releasably attached to the top of the housing; and the cover has an elongated slot in it, which is aligned with the space between the brush blocks. The brush blocks have tapered flanges on the opposing edges for engagement between guide rails on the inside of the housing to permit the blocks to be easily inserted and then wedged in place within the housing. When the brushes wear out, the blocks are removed by lifting them out of the housing. Then they are replaced with new blocks.

  • Patent number: 4821359
Abstract: A brush including a laminate having a handle end portion adapted for manual engagement, and an opposite head end portion; and a plurality of rows of bristles having end portions adhered between adjacent plies in the head end portion of the laminate and projecting outwardly. The brush is formed from pieces of oriented polymeric film, portions of which are adhered to individual plies to be incorporated in the laminate and have portions projecting from the plies separated into bristles before the plies are laminated to form the brush. Lamination is done by driving moisture out of pasteboard layers coated with dried water activatable adhesive by exposure to radio frequency energy which activates the adhesive to form the laminate.
