Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for searching an enhanced physical downlink control channel (E-PDCCH), and a device for supporting the methods. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for searching an enhanced physical downlink control channel (E-PDCCH) in a wireless access system can comprise the steps of: performing a blind decoding on a control channel region and searching a legacy physical downlink control channel (PDCCH); and searching the E-PDCCH on the basis of the searched legacy PDCCH. In this case, in a subframe to which the E-PDCCH is allocated, using all symbols of the subframe from a first symbol to a third symbol is always preferred for allocation of the legacy PDCCH.

  • Patent number: 9420518
Abstract: A first wireless device of a wireless local network is operated in an un-associated data transfer mode at a layer-2 level. In the un-associated data transfer mode, communication between the first wireless device and a second wireless device in the wireless local network is allowed to take place without prior authentication and association between the two wireless devices. The first wireless device participates in formulation of routing information in routing nodes of a wireless mesh network while operating in the un-associated data transfer mode. If configured as an end device, the first wireless device thereafter exchanges data packets with another wireless device in the mesh. If configured as a router, the first wireless device routes packets to corresponding wireless devices in the mesh. Operation in the un-associated data transfer mode may result in reduction in power consumption of nodes in the mesh, as well as increased data throughput.

  • Patent number: 9379790
Abstract: In wireless operating environments, wireless user devices are often within the coverage area of multiple base stations. The base station providing the best uplink for the user device may be different than the base station providing the best downlink for the user device. Systems and techniques for asymmetric uplink and downlink communications for a user device are provided. In embodiments, the user device initially synchronizes with a base station. Both the uplink and downlink are initially served by this base station. A determination is then made whether to handoff the downlink for the user device to another base station. When a determination is indicated, the downlink is handed off to the second base station. Thereafter, periodic measurements are made. The determinations whether to handoff the uplink and downlink for the user device are made independently.

  • Patent number: 9380513
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices related to wireless communication via a mesh network are described. In particular, the disclosure is directed to selecting a path between two nodes in a wireless mesh network based on consideration of type of data requested and a determination whether an intermediate node, within a predetermined range of the requesting node, is actively broadcasting the requested data. Such opportunistic consideration in selecting a path between two nodes may avoid unnecessary activation of additional broadcasting nodes and reduce the risk of triggering interference between multiple nodes broadcasting duplicate data.

The common frequency may be a serving frequency of the WWAN, in which case the first and second metrics are one of frequency or power metrics and the calibration factor is one of a frequency offset and a power offset. The common frequency may also be a target frequency for inter-frequency measurements of the WWAN, in which case the calibration factor is based primarily on power measurements.

Abstract: A single hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) entity can be associated with multiple serving units to achieve lower complexity user-side signal processing during multi-point communication. Additionally, configuring a single HARQ entity to establish HARQ operations with multiple serving units may achieve lower latency communication when users are engaging in multi-point communications, such as coordinated multi-point transmission/reception (CoMP). • Patent number: 9319208
Abstract: Radio frequency (RF) duplexing devices and methods of operating the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, an RF duplexing device includes a transmission port, a receive port, a first duplexer, and a second duplexer. The first duplexer is coupled to the transmission port and the receive port, and is configured to provide a first phase shift from the transmission port to the receive port. The second duplexer is also coupled to the transmission port and the receive port. However, the second duplexer is configured to provide a second phase shift that is differential to the first phase shift from the transmission port to the receive port. By providing the second phase shift so that the second phase shift is differential to the first phase shift, the RF duplexing device can provide isolation through cancellation without needing to introduce significant insertion losses.
