Abstract: A printer transfers print data received from a host computer to a cloud server, requests a response, from the cloud server, indicating an ending time period when the cloud server processes the print data, receives the response indicating the ending time period returned from the cloud server, and shifts the printer to a sleep state during the ending time period. After the printer returns from the sleep state when the ending time period has elapsed, the printer requests processed data from the cloud server, receives the processed data returned therefrom, and performs print processing on the processed data.

Abstract: An optical scanning apparatus includes a light source, rotational polygonal mirror, correction data calculating unit, modification computing unit, and adjustment unit. Abstract: E-mail correspondence is repurposed to save paper and ink. An indication that a printout of e-mail correspondence from a printer has been requested is received. Further, a plurality of e-mail messages that belong to an e-mail conversation tree is detected. In addition, the plurality of e-mail messages in the e-mail conversation tree is reordered according to a respective timestamp associated with each e-mail message in the plurality of e-mail messages. The respective timestamp indicates a time of transmission. A root e-mail message is determined according to an earliest respective timestamp. The root e-mail message is a root node of the e-mail conversation tree. Further, a plurality of content blocks from the root e-mail message is recorded as a set of print blocks. In addition, a plurality of subsequent e-mail message content blocks with the set of print blocks.

Abstract: Conventionally, it is not possible to evenly correct a color conversion table of a reading device in the entire color region even with a limited number of patches. In order to correct a color conversion table, a color conversion table from a device-independent color space into a device-independent color space is newly stored. A shift in read data between devices is reflected in a correction 3D-LUT and a color conversion table is corrected using the correction 3D-LUT. Thereby, it is possible to correct the entire color region with a smaller number of pieces of data and with less time and effort than when a color conversion table is newly recreated.

Abstract: The systems and method herein provide a design logic that extends Distributed Scan Management (DSM) by integrating the scan setting features of a network scanner with DSM and enhances DSM by providing a means for quickly locating Post Scan Processes (PSP) based on specified search criteria. In this regard, a network scanner is controllable via the PSPs of a DSM protocol. A user interface of the network scanner is operable to receive login information associated with a user that is used to grant access to one or more of the PSPs. The network scanner also includes a storage module operable to store scanner software instructions that direct a processor to determine whether the one or more accessed PSPs have settings that are overrideable and present the one or more accessed PSPs to the user for selection. The user may then override settings of a selected PSP via the user interface.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus which can avert wasteful processing of disconnection from and reconnection to the same host when a currently-connected host and a host that should be connected next are the same. When a print request is received from one of a plurality of hosts, host information indicative of the host is registered so that an order of print requests can be identified. Connection and disconnection to and from the hosts are carried out according to the host information. Printing is carried out based on print data received from the hosts. When a host as a source of a print request received next after a print request from a currently-connected host is the same as the currently-connected host, print data is received from the currently-connected host, and then print data corresponding to the next print request is received from the currently-connected host without disconnecting from the currently-connected host.

Abstract: What is disclosed is a system and method which addresses the problem of inheriting color management intent from a fleet color management LUT into a 4-to-4 cascaded LUT. The LUT is updated starting with a set of patches that either form a uniform or non-uniform grid of the LUT or can be projected to a uniform or non-uniform grid in the CMYK space using, e.g., PCA. A set of L*a*b* target as well a variable that serve the purpose of preserving the GCR and other elements of the fleet profile is obtained by passing the set of CMYK values to the fleet printer model. By iterating on the printer (or the printer model of the engine at the moment of the engine change) and converging to the targets, the engine device cmyk set is obtained. The LUT is formed between the uniform or non-uniform gridded CMYK and the device cmyk.
