  • Patent number: 9679479
Abstract: An induction vehicle detection and identification system comprising electronic identification devices with electronic memory, mounted on vehicles, and a reader capable of reading and/or writing data obtained from devices in HF-band. Devices have a non-volatile memory and are integrated into the vehicle's license plate. The reader combined with a magnetic frame is in a dielectric casing, which is mounted under the roadway. It generates an alternating magnetic field, which determines the detection and identification range. Minimum time the reader requires to read discrete responses generated by electronic identification devices and to identify the vehicle is less than 25 ms. The identification devices and the reader exchange data at the rate of 1 Kbit/sec or higher, and provide data encoding and decoding, as well as data access restriction.

  • Patent number: 9659199
Abstract: An indicia reading terminal is disclosed that eliminates unwanted flickering effects in an illuminated screen reading mode, among other advantageous features. The indicia reading terminal, in response to a screen reading signal, is operative to activate a screen reading cycle. In the screen reading cycle, an imaging subsystem is activated at least once at the same time that an illumination subsystem is activated for one of a plurality of active illumination periods, for a first illuminated exposure period. The imaging subsystem is activated at least once while the illumination subsystem is not activated, for a first unilluminated exposure period, which is longer than the first illuminated exposure period. An aimer subsystem is activated for a plurality of active aimer periods when neither the imaging subsystem nor the illumination subsystem is activated, wherein intervals of time between the active aimer periods are equal, within nominal tolerances.

  • Patent number: 9659316
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing navigation functionality in a retail location using local positioning technology are presented. In some embodiments, a customer assistance computing platform may receive one or more attributes associated with a beacon signal received by a customer computing device and an identifier associated with the customer computing device. Subsequently, the computing platform may determine an identity of a customer using the customer computing device. The computing platform then may determine a location of the customer using the customer computing device based on the one or more attributes associated with the beacon signal. Thereafter, the computing platform may generate one or more navigation instructions to guide the customer to another location. Then, the computing platform may send the one or more navigation instructions to the customer computing device.

  • Patent number: 9639798
Abstract: A wireless identification (RFID) tag, an electronic product PCB having same, and an electronic product management system using the RFID tag. The RFID tag includes an insulating means, a pair of upper terminals provided on the upper surface of the insulating means, a tag chip connected to the upper terminals, and a pair of lower terminals provided on the lower surface of the insulating means so as to face the upper terminals. The lower terminals are connected to first and second patterns of an electronic product PCB. When a radio wave radiated from a reader-writer is received in the first and second patterns, reactive coupling through an electric field is created between the upper and lower terminals, which are then electrically connected to the upper terminals. Since the pattern already formed in the PCB is used as an antenna, there is no need to form a dedicated antenna pattern.
