Abstract: The method for managing one or more standard configurations includes calculating a plurality of configuration fingerprints for a plurality of storage systems. The configuration fingerprint is a numerical value that represents information about a configuration for one or more components of a storage system. The method also includes building a result set that includes the plurality of configuration fingerprints for the plurality of storage systems. The method also includes identifying a plurality of standard configurations for the plurality of storage systems from the result set based on the plurality of configuration fingerprints. The method also includes determining that a first storage system from the plurality of storage systems meets a standard configuration from the plurality of standard configurations. The method also includes creating metadata within the first storage system that describes the standard configuration.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for requesting operations at a remote server utilizing a network file system. A client may encapsulate a request for a cache coherency mechanism as an encapsulated message and provide the encapsulated message to a network file system executing on the client. The network file system may be configured to prevent the request for server functionality from being transmitted to the remote server. The client may also cause, via the network file system, the encapsulated message to be transmitted to the remote server.

Abstract: A method for providing a search tool for use in connection with address book management may include receiving an indication of an address book update event associated with a contact of an address book of a user, causing performance, via a processor, of a search responsive to receipt of the indication, and enabling modification of contact information associated with the contact based on the search results. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.

Abstract: Content maintained in an online social network or other online communities is tracked for changes and updates. The content may include user profiles, digital photos, digital audio and video files, testimonials, and identification of users who are friends. When such change or update occurs, users of the online social network or online community are notified according to various criteria that they have set. The notification may be provided by e-mail, an RSS feed, or a web page when accessed. With this feature, users can browse through content of other users with efficiency.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention provide for a user uploading a file and a customized metadata about the file to a file storage system. This information may be forwarded to an application, possibly an API, which may divide the file into a plurality of file chunks if the file is greater than a predetermined file size. One or more tracker servers may check a database to locate optimal file locations for the file or file chunks to be stored within the file storage system. These optimal locations may be returned from the tracker servers to the application/API which may perform an HTTP request to write the file to the file storage system. The file write may be validated and finalized, and the successful write may be displayed to the user on a user interface on a client.

Abstract: There is provided a method for producing a customized content, comprising identifying a customizable content from which to produce the customized content, identifying a base content in the customizable content, and receiving at least one customizing criterion as input. The method further comprises determining a plurality of content modifiers for harmonizing the base content and the customizing criterion, extracting the plurality of content modifiers from a modification library, and integrating the plurality of content modifiers with the base content to produce the customized content. In one embodiment, the method is embodied as instructions stored on a computer-readable medium. A system for producing customized content comprises a content host hosting a customizable content including a base content, a modification library, and a content customizing application.

Abstract: In a contact center, a new contact is compared with other contacts which are currently active at the contact center to identify a matching contact having a common source with the new contact, following which at least one of the new and matching contacts is terminated or provided with increased resources or higher priority according to contact center rules.

Abstract: A method of securely deleting data from a data storage device is described. The method includes the steps of receiving a secure delete command to securely delete a file. A data block of the file to securely delete is identified. A pointer to the data block is stored in a deletion buffer. It is then determined whether the secure delete command has a highest priority over other data storage device commands. In response to the secure delete command having the highest priority, the secure delete command to the data block is performed.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method is provided for presenting a query directed at an information resource. In this method, a number of queries is accessed over a time period. A burst of the number of queries is detected within the time period. It should be noted that a burst is a determinable increase in the number of queries received within the time period relative to a historical number of queries received in a preceding time interval. Event-related information that is associated with the burst in the time is searched, and the query in conjunction with the event-related information is displayed at a display unit.

Abstract: Various methods and apparatuses are described for performing high speed format translations of incoming data, where the incoming data is arranged in a delimited data format. As an example, the data in the delimited data format can be translated to a fixed field format using pipelined operations. A reconfigurable logic device can be used in exemplary embodiments as a platform for the format translation.

Abstract: A breadcrumb method, system and computer program product for a website. In response to a request for visiting the website, a breadcrumb root node is generated in a tree structure. In response to receiving a request for visiting a first web task associated with the website, a first task node is generated in the tree structure at the breadcrumb root node. In response to sequentially receiving requests for multiple subtasks of the first web task, multiple subtask nodes of the first task node are sequentially established in the tree structure. The subtask nodes of the multiple subtask nodes of the first task node are sequentially connected to the first task node according to a sequential order of the sequentially received requests for the multiple subtasks of the first web task. The multiple subtask nodes of the first task node are processed based a policy of the first web task.

Abstract: Systems and methods for social dating are provided. In particular, some embodiments provide recommendations for connections (i.e., candidate users) based on a user's social graph. These recommendations can identify potential single individuals that may be good matches for dating or can identify individuals with other commonalities or shared experiences to create dialog. For example, the recommendations for a user can include single individuals that are friends of a friend. The user can be presented with information about the recommendation and then ask for an introduction from the user's friend. As another example, the recommendations can be based on subject matter selected by the user (e.g., twins, cancer, phone type, etc.) with or without any friendship connections. The user may also be able to filter or further refine the searches based on other criteria such as interests, location, age, and/or other constraints. Rewards can be provided in some cases to encourage participation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided to efficiently generate a fulsome query in order to increase the recall and/or precision provided by the search. A method may construct a query by receiving the one or more initial search terms and then defining a concept for each search term. In order to define a concept, the method may determine if a concept associated with a respective search term has been previously defined. In an instance in which a concept associated with a respective search term has been previously defined, the method at least initially utilizes the previously defined concept. However, in an instance in which a concept associated with a respective search term has not been previously defined, the method constructs the concept based on terms related to the respective search term. The method may then combine the concepts defined for the one or more search terms to generate the query.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for managing address reflectors. In one example, the system discloses a reflector storage 108, 116, 124, 608, with a set of reflector members 304 associated with a set of reflector names 306. The system also includes a computer 100, 604 programmed with executable instructions 500, 610 which operate a set of modules. The modules includes reflector management module 106, 114, 122 which, receives a character-string from user input 104, 120, and identifies the reflector names 306 whose reflector members 304 are partially defined by the character-string.

Abstract: A method and system for ranking an object that contains one or more keywords is disclosed. All linking objects are retrieved that contain a keyword of interest. Each linking object links to the object to be ranked. The locations of each link in each linking object are determined relative to the keywords in the linking objects. A drop off rate is computed for the keyword in each of the linking objects. A perceived importance of the keyword in the each of the linking objects is computed. A partial link rating for each of the linking objects is computed. A total link rating is computed for the at least one keyword across all linking objects. The link ratings each keyword is stored in the object to be ranked.

Abstract: A system highlights search terms in documents distributed over a network. The system generates a search query that includes a search term and, in response to the search query, receives a list of one or more references to documents in the network. The system receives selection of one of the references and retrieves a document that corresponds to the selected reference. The system then highlights the search term in the retrieved document.

Abstract: Methods, computer readable media, and apparatuses for building data models and performing model-based analytics are presented. A data analytics system may be implemented including software components to provide a data analytics platform and/or a data analytics programming interface. The components of the data analytics system may allow users to create and execute software applications to build data models model-based analytics functionality such as classification and prediction. For example, a programming interface may allow users to build data models of various predetermined model types, such as statistical data models, spatial statistical data models, graphical data models, pattern mining data models, clustering data models, and machine learning data models, among others, based on an input data set. A parallel computing infrastructure, for example, a cloud computing environment, may be used to build data models and perform model-based analytics with distributed processing and distributed storage.

Abstract: A storage device may include a main storage part including one or more memories; and a controller configured to control an overall operation of the main storage part. The controller includes a filter manager configured to store data format information and a filtering condition provided from a host; one or more stream filters configured to search and project data stored in the one or more memories in parallel in response to a control of the filter manager to produce searched and projected data; and a merge filter configured to merge the searched and projected data of the one or more stream filters in response to the control of the filter manager.

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for generating clusters for placement into a display is provided. A set of clusters is generated from a document set. A single cluster of related documents from the document set is obtained and at least one new cluster is added. One such document in the set is compared to the cluster. A difference in distance between the document and a common origin and the cluster and the common origin is determined. The document is designated as the new cluster when the difference fails to satisfy a predetermined threshold. One or more cluster spines each having two or more clusters placed along a vector are placed into a display. The clusters along each spine are identified as similar and the clusters of one such spine are also similar to further clusters located along a further spine having a small cosine rotation from that cluster spine.

Abstract: A cooperative data file coloring backup system includes a file color agent (FCA) and a file color storage cloud controller (FCSCC). The FCA assigns a color to a data file. The assigned color is associated with a highest projected data reduction factor achieved when backing up the data file from a host to one of various storage devices comprised within a data backup storage area network. The FCSCC maintains a list of file types and associated data reduction factors that are achieved during a backup of the file types and provides to the FCA a storage path from the host to a particular storage device within the storage area network associated with the highest data reduction factor and file type. The FCA may implement the storage path based upon the assigned color for each backup request received by the host.
