Abstract: A headband satisfying tennis association rules consisting of a first length of a nontransparent vinyl or fabric band coupled to a second, lower positioned length of transparent polyvinyl film of at least 100%-150% greater width in reducing the “blind spot” in overall tennis play.
Abstract: According to the various features characteristics and embodiments of the present invention which will become apparent as the description thereof proceeds, the present invention provides partially fingered gloves intended to increase the overall performance in sports activities including but limited to football and golf. Primarily because of its unique finger configurations, and/or grip enhancers, and/or hand protective properties, the present invention makes a glove more operable in various sports activities.
Abstract: A crane game is provided for amusement, training, and team building purposes. The body of the crane is suspended beneath manually held handles which are attached to the crane body by cords. Two lifting hooks are suspended beneath the crane body and operated by lifting lines which engage the crane body and extend outwardly from the crane body. Multiple persons each control a handle or lifting line and operate the crane through coordinated movement of the handles and lifting lines.
Abstract: An apparatus for playing marbles games. The apparatus is a circular or polygonal playing board or ring, which encompasses a playing surface. A top ring extends above the playing board along its outer circumference, and may extend over the outer perimeter of the playing board, allowing marbles struck off the playing surface to pass underneath into a marble collection mechanism. Marbles drop onto a sloped guide track, and then roll down to one of a plurality of collections slots.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure can comprise systems and devices for improving a player's tennis swing timing. In some embodiment, the systems and devices can comprise a first band having a first sleeve affixed thereto and a second band having a second sleeve affixed thereto. An inner tubing can extend substantially between the first end of the first sleeve and the first end of the second sleeve. Additionally, the first sleeve can house a first magnetic component and the second sleeve can oppose the first sleeve and house a second magnetic component. The first and second magnetic components can be configured to transition the first and second sleeves from an unconnected state, in which at least a portion of the inner tubing is disposed between the first sleeve and the second sleeve, to a connected state.
Abstract: Disclosed is system and method for measuring the tension of a tennis net, and, alternatively or in addition, for determining if a service let occurs via the measuring of the net tension. The disclosed embodiments measure a force exerted on the center-strap or the singles stick by the net. In these embodiments, the measured force provides an accurate reflection of the tension of the net.
Abstract: A puck includes a main body having a first portion and a second portion securely attached to form a generally cylindrical shape with an internal cavity. One or more energy absorbing components are positioned within the internal cavity. A weight component is positioned adjacent to the one or more energy absorbing components within the internal cavity. The weight component is sized to move in a vertical direction and deform the one or more energy absorbing components within the internal cavity in response to movement of the puck.
Abstract: An apparatus including a sensor carried by a racquet and an indicator in communication with the sensor. The sensor outputs a notification based on (a) the number of hits by the racquet based on signals from the sensor and (b) at least one of an elapsed time since a last stringing of the racquet and an input skill level of a person using the racquet. Additionally, an apparatus including a racquet, a sensor carried by the racquet, and an indicator in communication with the sensor. The sensor can be a strain gauge, a load cell, an acoustic sensor and a vibro-acoustic sensor. The sensor outputs a notification based on the number of hits by the racquet based on signals from the sensor.
Abstract: An arcade game with that allows a player to control the game using a video feedback plus a tactile response is provided. A player must use the video feed for controlling the game, and the video feed can be transmitted from a remote location. The video signal can be transmitted via the internet, a wireless connection, or a wired connection.
Abstract: A non-planar table tennis racket includes a racket blade and a racket handle connected together according to an offset angle. The linear configuration of the handle connected directly to the planar racket blade creates a non-planar racket body that is asymmetrical and unbalanced, capable of imparting ultrahigh spin to a table tennis ball.
Abstract: A training racket with a user end on one side and a hitting end on an opposite side. The user end further comprises a first grip, a second grip, and a generally u-shaped segment interconnecting the first grip and the second grip. The generally u-shaped segment extends away from an axis extending through the first grip, the second grip and the hitting end, whereby the player positions a portion of the racket behind their back with a first grip on one side of their body and the second grip on the opposite side of their body to practice their hitting and swinging techniques.
Abstract: An easily assembled and disassembled frame for a net game includes a rigid multi-part frame with a cross-member that is non-sagging. Sections of the multi-part frame have an elliptical profile. A net stabilizer includes a tensioning member coupled at one end to a retention member of the frame, and having the other end of the tensioning member inserted into a center sleeve of the net, and, a center sleeve with a securing member for fastening securely at one end to the cross-member.
Abstract: A sports racquet for supporting at least one racquet string and including a frame and at least one string support assembly. The frame includes handle and head portions separated by throat tubes. The head portion has grommet holes, and includes top, bottom, first side and second side regions. The string support assembly includes a grommet structure and at least one bearing element. The grommet structure includes a strip and at least two barrels extending from the strip. Each barrel includes a string hole extending along an axis of the barrel, and extends through a separate one of the grommet holes. The bearing element is coupled to the grommet structure, and includes an upper portion having a grooved rim engaging the string and a deflectable lower portion having opposing cutouts. The support assembly is positioned at one or more of the top, bottom, first side and second side regions.
Abstract: An easily assembled and disassembled portable golf swing training device includes plural interconnected elongated, linear rods and arms for the development of proper golf club takeaway, backswing and downswing mechanics. The position of the golf club during the swing is compared with generally accepted swing parameters, and club positions not within acceptable limits are evidenced by easily detected golf club contact with one or more of the device's arms which are all adjustable in length and position depending upon individual golfer characteristics, and which are pivotally mounted, padded and flexible to avoid injury as well as damage to the inventive device or to a golf club. The configuration of the various rods and arms is established to provide the golfer an inside-to-out club head path during the downswing to provide for a draw of the ball, or to shape the shot from right to left for a right hand golfer.
Abstract: An apparatus to keep score during a tennis or other racket match being affixed to a set of racket strings, the apparatus includes a housing having a perimeter, a front surface and a rear surface, each surface configured with indicia to indicate game and set score, said perimeter includes a groove therearound to removeably affix housing to the racket strings, wherein the housing includes a pair of stacked polygon apertures, the front polygon being a hexagon and the second being a pentagon, and a pair of stacked pluggable dials, the front polygon being a hexagon and the second being a pentagon, wherein said pluggable dials include a finger grip, indicator, base or stop, and annular male female snap, and thus to facilitate keeping game and set score during a match and to provide vibrational dampening.
