Abstract: A method and system are provided for a user interface. The system can include a plurality of information categories and option nodes organized into a hierarchy. A plurality of menu columns can be contained within a window. The menu columns can each be configured to display a portion of the plurality of categories and option nodes. A first scrolling control can be located adjacent to the plurality of menu columns and be configured to scroll the plurality of menu columns in a defined direction across the screen. A second scrolling control can be located adjacent on an opposite site of the plurality of menu columns. The second scrolling control can be linked to the first scrolling control to enable either scrolling control to be moved in the defined direction in order to scroll the menu columns and unused scrolling control simultaneously.

Abstract: Configurations for a cellular user interface are provided. In one embodiment, a client configuration includes a viewer and a content development kit. A content server distributes cellularized content among several client viewers. Connectors in a scheduled configuration regularly acquire updated content from data sources. An integration server interfaces between the connectors and the content server for distributing content. A monitoring agent assists with content updating upon detecting source changes. A registration server enables cell content update in client viewers through the content server. Cells in the cellularized environment include a visual proxy component and a metadata component. The visual proxy component can be configured for displaying different content at various levels of detail. The metadata component enables intelligent organization and display of content through queries, channels, and data updates.

Abstract: A system and method that relates to a plug-in architecture that enables accelerated rendering and compositing of one or more graphical effects instantiated by one or more separate visual effect plug-ins. The plug-in architecture enables setting up visual effects, accepting graphical output requests, customizing visual effects, and/or allowing enhanced graphics rendering for desktop usage, among other things. The invention provides a modular approach to customizing and rendering visual effects. The plug-in architecture enables plug-ins to be exchanged, modified, removed, and added, among other things.

Abstract: Previewing content included in an enterprise database associated with an enterprise system is disclosed. A first indication is received for an overlay object associated with an object from the enterprise database that is being displayed. an action list is dynamically determined associated with the object being displayed using a first method to retrieve actions from the enterprise system that are associated with the object being displayed. The action list is provided to the overlay object. Content associated with the object is dynamically determined using a second method to retrieve content from the enterprise system. The content is provided to the overlay object. The overlay object is displayed to preview the content included in the enterprise database and to provide the action list.

Abstract: A method for responding to a request, comprising accepting the request, mapping the request to a control tree wherein the control tree is a logical representation of a graphical user interface (GUI) and wherein the control tree includes a set of controls which are related hierarchically to one another, advancing the control tree through at least one lifecycle stage based on the request, wherein the control tree includes at least one portlet control that represents at least one portlet, providing the request to a portlet container that contains the at least one portlet, and aggregating the output of each of the at least one portlets and providing the output to the GUI.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for providing Unified Communication (UC) service, which includes obtaining communication information displayed on a terminal where a mouse locates; triggering a corresponding UC service based on the communication information. The present invention also discloses a UC client. The UC client includes a communication information obtaining unit, capable of capturing communication information displayed on a terminal where a mouse locates, and a UC service unit, capable of triggering a corresponding UC service based on the communication information. In this way a user needs to move a cursor or press a key in the active interface to enter corresponding communication information into the UC client, therefore the complicated operations of manually keying in communication information or searching an address book in the UC client interface according to conventional technique are avoided and the users' burden will be relieved.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for locking in a mathematical relationship between a set of at least two parameters in a computer program. The method selects a first parameter. The method defines a mathematical relationship that ties the value of the first parameter to the value of a second parameter. In some embodiments, the mathematical relationship can be a mathematical function, a Boolean function, or a lookup table. The relationship could be directly entered by the user, or the computer program itself could derive it from the user's actions. In some embodiments, the first parameter can be locked to the mathematical relationship. The lock prevents the value of that parameter from being changed, except by changing the value of the second parameter. Some embodiments implement this method by using a GUI with an intuitive set of controls.

Abstract: A method of switching among management system applications includes displaying data associated with at least a first one of the management system applications using a graphical user interface screen for use with a computerized management system for at least one of products and services. Abstract: A call center support and documentation system is provided. The call center support and documentation system assists an agent of a call center in processing calls. Specifically, the system assists the agent in processing calls more quickly by providing, on a single display screen, all of the information to process a call (including the customer's information, troubleshooting steps, and documentation). The system also assists the agent in documenting calls in an efficient and standardized manner. Documentation, such as the customer information and troubleshooting steps for a call, may be automatically populated in a uniform manner so that the agent may update the documentation database.
