  • Patent number: 9934355
Abstract: A test and measurement apparatus, system, and method for synchronizing an acquisition or triggering system to a specific burst of interest. The subject apparatus and method triggers on varying energy content of a signal qualified by time in the presence of high-frequency input signal bursts, by using an adjustable pulse width envelope detector, disposed in the signal path of the trigger circuitry, as a digital rectifier or to otherwise process and extract an envelope signal. An RF envelope probe having an analog envelope detector among other suitable components is disclosed. A method is implemented for isolating an interval of interest in a signal under test. An envelope detector circuit produces an envelope signal from the signal. Trigger circuitry receives the envelope signal from the envelope detector, and isolates the interval of interesting in the signal under test using the envelope signal.

  • Patent number: 9921058
Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamic tracking of on-stage objects using microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) presented herein do not require illumination to track a randomly moving object and are easily configurable for various stage sizes and for stages movable relative to the ground. In some instances, a tracking method includes determining an initial state of an MEMS motion tracker carried on a dynamic object, such as a performer. Acceleration and orientation information gathered by the motion tracker is monitored. A change of state in response to the monitored acceleration and orientation information is then determined. An instant state is calculated using the change of state and the initial state. Actuation signals based on the calculated instant state are generated for actuating a gimbal. The gimbal faces a device supported thereby toward the dynamic object.

  • Patent number: 9886419
Abstract: A test and measurement instrument provides for increased transient event detection by adjusting data sampling periods. The test and measurement instrument includes a data sampler for acquiring first sampled data and a data processor structured to process the first sampled data. The data processor operates during a first data processing period. Also included in the instrument is a sample time adjustor structured to allow a user to select a time for the data sampler to acquire second sampled data. The time for the data sampler to acquire the second sampled data occurs during the first data processing period. The time for acquiring the second sampled data may be determined by generating a probability distribution function, then applying the distribution function to the available times during the first data processing period that the second sample data may be collected. Methods of use of the test and measurement instrument are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9710056
Abstract: The present description discloses systems and methods for changing the state of a device. One embodiment may include a device configured to provide a device in a first state, receive a signal indicative of first angular data of the device, and compare the first angular data to a first threshold. The device may then execute instructions to initiate a timer when the first angular data is greater than the first threshold, receive a signal indicative of a second angular data of the device, and compare the second angular data to a second threshold. When the second angular data is less than the second threshold and the time passed is within a pre-determined time period, the device may execute instructions to transition the device to a second state.

  • Patent number: 9709511
Abstract: Apparatus, system, method and computer-readable medium for isolating chemical exchange saturation transfer contrast from magnetization transfer asymmetry under two-frequency RF irradiation. A two-pool model for magnetization transfer (MT) can be established fully based on Provotorov's theory of saturation, and then extended to the situation of simultaneous two-frequency RF irradiation. Numerical simulations and experimental results demonstrate that two-frequency RF irradiation can make MT effects independent of irradiation frequency over a wide range, and thus can suppress MT asymmetry. Exemplary embodiments can be provided to isolate chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) contrast from MT asymmetry contrast by using the two-frequency RF irradiation technique. A further embodiment can isolate a narrow-frequency spectrum MT mechanism from a broad-frequency spectrum MT mechanism.

Abstract: Continuous capillary pressure (Pc) curves of subsurface rock formations adjacent wells are determined based on translation relaxation time (T2) data from nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and from wireline well logs, such as resistivity logs, to obtain water saturation (Sw) of the rock in the formations. The T2 data and the hydrocarbon density, water density, free water level, and paleo-water level of the formation are processed to obtain parameters of Thomeer hyperbolas that closely conform to water saturation values obtained from the other well logs.
