Abstract: A system and method for accurately sort items for delivery and track the delivery of items in an item distribution network using a purpose built confidence event recorder. Items can then be tracked while out for delivery through the use of confidence data recorded by a confidence event recorder carried by an item carrier. Confidence data can be used to accurately record when and where item carriers deliver items and can be used for generating and transmitting an expected delivery window.

One of the methods includes receiving, from one or more image sensors and one or more weight sensors, data collected by the one or more image sensors and data collected by the one or more weight sensors; identifying, based at least on the data collected by the one or more image sensors, one or more product items removed by a person from the store; calculating an expected total weight of the one or more product items based on information associated with the one or more product items stored by the computer system; determining, based on the data collected by the one or more weight sensors, an actual total weight of the one or more product items removed by the person; and verifying the actual total weight is consistent with the expected total weight.

Abstract: A method of establishing a paint color to be displayed by a procurement system based on information received from an external punchout site. A formula corresponding to a desired paint color selected by a customer that is not included in a color palate of predefined colors regularly available for purchase from a paint supplier is received. Based on the formula, a standardized color value within a color gamut of the electronic display device is generated for the desired paint color. The standardized color value is stored in a network-accessible database entry specific to the customer to be retrievable by the customer over a communication network for generating a preview of the desired paint color during a subsequent purchase of paint having the desired paint color by the customer over the communication network.

The method receives a selection from the group of policy configuration options to create a policy instance for the payroll processing system. The method configures the payroll processing system according to the policy instance.

Abstract: Technology for optimizing automated inventory management is described. In an example implementation, a method, implemented using one or more computing devices, may generate unit identifier sets based on affinities between items uniquely identified by the unit identifiers, determine first and second contribution values for each of the unit identifier sets, and calculate a difference between the first and the second contribution values for each of the unit identifier sets. The method may further calculate an incremental carton and expense prevention opportunity (ICEPO) value for the unit identifier sets, calculate an adjusted fulfillment center stocking score using the ICEPO value and the difference between the first and the second contribution values for each of the unit identifier sets, select a subset of the unit identifier sets based on the adjusted fulfillment center stocking score, and output the subset to an inventory replenishment system that manages stocking of items.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for incorporating drive-through wait times into a route calculation. A user often wishes to stop by a drive-through facility on their way to a final destination such as home or work. Disclosed embodiments factor the estimated wait time at the drive-through in determining an optimal travel route. The route is optimized for travel time based on received drive-through criteria.

Abstract: Items may be stored at an inventory location using an instrumented hook system. The instrumented hook system may include a hook from which items may be suspended. The hook may be affixed to a support arm using a weight sensor. The weight sensor provides weight data indicative of the weight of items suspended by the hook. The system may also include other sensors such as capacitive sensors, photodetectors, image sensors, and so forth. Sensor data from these sensors may be used to determine interaction data indicative of a quantity on hand, quantity picked, quantity placed, and so forth.

Abstract: Embodiments provide approaches to selectively integrate with various providers based on reliability factors, user preferences, and/or other criteria. For example, a user in a location where an on-demand provider is available may attempt to utilize services provided by the on-demand provider in a different location where the on-demand provider has limited or no services available, but where one or more other on-demand providers may be available. The user may attempt to access services provided by the on-demand provider using an application provided by the on-demand provider. However, in the situation where the user is in the location where services provided by the on-demand provider are not available, the user would have to secure other means of accessing those services. In such a situation the user may be able to utilize the application to request services with at least one partner on-demand provider.

Abstract: Interaction data provides information about particular items that have been picked or placed from a particular fixture. A radio signal that conveys designation data indicative of a particular user is coupled to a body of the user. A smart floor tile may emit the radio signal that is electromagnetically coupled to the user and propagates along the user's body. As the hand of the user approaches the fixture, the radio signal is received using antennas at the fixture. When the user touches an item, the propagation pathway may improve, resulting in an increase in received signal strength. By using information about the radio signal and the known location of the antennas, information such as a position of a hand of the user or which item has been picked or placed may be determined.

Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for processing offline payments from a mobile wallet. A computing system may receive, from a financial institution system, an authentication request message comprising a first offline token. The computing system may determine that the mobile wallet application is not online and determine that the first offline toke comprises first offline token data that matches the first offline token reference data. The computing system may send to the financial institution system a first authentication message indicating that the first offline token is associated with the mobile wallet application.

Pre-determined payment options can be configured by a provider, asset holder, and/or potential asset holder. The pre-determined payment options can include an option for financing a balance. A configurable financing option may enable a guarantor to request terms and receive automatic approval, subject to authorized terms.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for using a boarding pass as a financial instrument to make payments and other financial transactions. A passenger name record, a standardized computer reservation system protocol, can be associated with one or more financial accounts. When a point of sale device scans the boarding pass, either on a mobile device, or a traditional paper boarding pass, the passenger name record can be used to find a travel itinerary associated with the customer. By matching the travel itinerary to location of the point of sale device, and the time, payments can be authorized, and then initiated using financial account information associated with the passenger name record.

Abstract: Stock cards with machine readable tags are placed on article packaging in a point of inventory. When an employee wishes to order an article, the employee selects a state switch on the stock card to place an order for a predefined quantity. The machine readable tag of the stock card generates an order for a predefined quantity of the identified article. The order is sent to a fulfillment server which processes the order and sends it to the appropriate supplier.
