  • Patent number: 8588173
Abstract: Disclosed is a frequency band allocation method which reduces PAPR (peak to average power ratio) when performing a single carrier transmission in the uplink line of an LTE+ (LTE Advanced) system in a system using both of an LTE (Long Term Evolution) system and the LTE+ system. In the frequency band allocation method, a UL band for the LTE is arranged adjacently in a lower frequency band than the UL band for the LTE+. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent division of the band for the LTE+ by the uplink line control channel (such as PUCCH) transmitted by an LTE mobile station and to allocate a wide band continuously with the LTE+ mobile station. Especially when the LTE+ mobile station performs a single carrier transmission with the uplink line, the PAPR can be reduced since it is possible to allocate a band continuous with the single carrier signal.

  • Patent number: 8582526
Abstract: A method for multipacket communication in an asynchronous wireless system includes the steps of transmitting at least two packets of 2M digital signals from a plurality of transmitters without other transmission taking place within a predetermined number of symbol durations from each side of each packet. Each transmitter generates digital signals denoted as at least two super-symbols according to an Alamouti coding scheme corresponding to M symbols of first set of super-symbols in a first transmission interval and a second set of super-symbols in a second transmission interval. The received packets include inter-symbol interference of the super-symbols when imperfectly synchronized which expands the time interval of the received packets. A symmetric Alamouti structure for the received packets is generated by folding the expanded received signal on itself, multiplying by a factor of ?1, and decoding using the Alamouti structure for the received packets at each antenna of the receiver.

  • Patent number: 8576782
Abstract: Baseband recovery in wireless networks, base transceiver stations, and wireless networking devices may be implemented to minimize the number of timing symbols while at the same time enabling wireless devices to use a relatively low per-symbol sampling rate, so that minimal processing is required to implement the timing recovery. In one embodiment, a relatively low number of samples is taken per expected symbol interval during the training sequence. A subset of the samples is selected and processed to determine error signals for each of the samples. The error signals are multiplied by the expected symbol and summed to form an error signal. The error signal is used to adjust the set of samples that will be used and processed in connection with subsequent symbols. The error signal is also used to interpolate between available samples to infinitesimally approach the point of maximum eye opening.

  • Patent number: 8570977
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate system frame number (SFN) indication and identification during a random access procedure (e.g., associated with a handover). As described herein, a target cell can configure one or more Random Access Responses (RARs) designated for transmission to a terminal during the access phase of a handover to include the SFN of the target cell. Techniques are further described herein by which the target cell can include SFN information in a sub-header associated with a RAR, in the payload of a RAR, and/or in other appropriate manners. In addition, the target cell can configure one or more flags of the RAR to indicate the presence of SFN information. Upon receiving a RAR with embedded SFN information, a terminal can utilize the SFN for operations such as frequency hopping or uplink resource configuration as described herein.

  • Patent number: 8570940
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for operation of densely-deployed low-cost Internet base stations (LCIBs). In an embodiment, an LCIB controller determines that a plurality of LCIBs are densely deployed. • Patent number: 8559318
Abstract: A method for obtaining link aggregation group (LAG) information, and a node and a system thereof are provided, which belong to the field of communication technologies. The method includes the following steps. An ingress node of a label switched path (LSP) sends an echo request message to another node on the LSP, in which the message carries identification information, and the identification information is for identifying that the LAG information on the LSP needs to be obtained. The ingress node receives an echo reply message returned by said another node, in which the message carries LAG information between said another node and a next hop node on the LSP. The present invention implements the obtaining of LAG information on the LSP and brings great convenience to OAM of MPLS network, and has the advantages of being simple, convenient, and easy to implement and having strong practicality.

  • Patent number: 8547899
Abstract: A channel aware scheduler (CAS) is disclosed that takes advantage of changing wireless channel conditions in order to maximize aggregated system throughput. The CAS is aware of the different channel conditions for one or more stations and adjusts its scheduling of packet transmissions in light of the same. A related CAS algorithm may take advantage of that knowledge in order to increase aggregated system throughput while concurrently addressing other potential fairness constraints.

  • Patent number: 8542708
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for signaling the phase and frequency of constant bit rate (CBR) clients over a network or fabric. An incoming CBR client stream is segmented into variable sized segments, such as packets or general framing protocol (GFP) frames, and is regenerated on the other side of a fabric or network phase-locked to the incoming stream. Regeneration of the CBR client clock is based solely on segment sizes, and in the case of GFP frames, the rate of the SONET Path or OTN ODUk stream carrying the GFP frames. No overhead bytes are inserted into the GFP frames to convey phase and frequency information. The method disclosed is important for reducing the cost and complexity of communications networks by allowing CBR clients to be transported with low jitter and wander without requiring the source and sink network elements to be phase-locked to a common stratum reference.

  • Patent number: 8532084
Abstract: A method can be used for facilitating an uplink synchronization between a first transceiver and a second transceiver within a cell in a multi-user cellular communication system. The first transceiver receives a reference from the second transceiver and generates a set of signature sequences based on the reference. The first transceiver selects a first signature sequence from the set of signature sequences and incorporates the first signature sequence into a signal. The first transceiver transmits the signal to the second transceiver. The signal is used for a uplink synchronization between the first transceiver and the second transceiver. The set of signature sequences are generated from sequences with zero-correlation zone.
