Abstract: The invention is directed to a system and method for collection, distribution and delivery of university student enrollment, progress, and degree completion data, media content, and other data to campus students, faculty, users, employees, and external stakeholders, and more particularly to an integrated distribution system and method that obtains data from multiple sources into a single database, extracts and validates relevant data from the multiple sources and removes legacy formatting and non-essential information, provides user-centric reports, and distributes graphic media from one or more filtered special-purpose user-centric reports that is published to user display devices.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying a first menu item on a standard menu of an establishment. A first plurality of ingredients of the first menu item are determined. A first subset of the first plurality of ingredients of the first menu item are categorized into a substitutable category. A second subset of the first plurality of ingredients of the first menu item are categorized into a non-substitutable category. Each ingredient of the first menu item that is in the substitutable category is compared to user preferences. A substitutable ingredient of the substitutable category is excluded, based on the comparisons, where the substitutable ingredient is in the first menu item. An available substitute is automatically identified for the substitutable ingredient of the substitutable category. A personalized menu of menu items selected from the standard menu is generated, where the personalized menu includes the first menu item modified with the available substitute.

Abstract: Methods and systems for optimizing item assortments are disclosed. One method includes receiving a request for an optimized assortment. Data relating to items within a selected initial item assortment and item universe is accessed. Constraints are applied to the items in the assortment to arrive at an optimized item assortment. Constraints include goals for optimization, lock in and lock out rules, and item attribute rules. The method may be performed by a system including one or more computing devices communicating via a network with one or more data storage devices.

Abstract: One example of computerized inventory redistribution control includes, for each location inventory record in a set of location inventory records, calculating a quantity change that will bring a current item quantity to a different item quantity for the location inventory record. Determining a cost of a minimum-cost redistribution among the physical locations to effect the quantity changes. Determining a scaling factor that maximizes total revenue when the quantity changes are scaled by the scaling factor after deducting the cost scaled by the scaling factor. Generating transfer instructions for a redistribution of the item by scaling the transfer quantities of the minimum-cost redistribution by the scaling factor. Transmitting each transfer instruction to a computing device associated with a physical location indicated in the transfer instruction.

Abstract: The disclosed techniques relate to improving sensor data collection/reporting at an automatic replenishment device (ARD). For example, sensor data associated with the item stored at an ARD may be collected. The ARD can calculate a change in the amount of the item stored by the ARD from the sensor data. If the change is over a reporting threshold, the sensor data (or the amount of change) may be transmitted to a back-end system. Reporting may not occur if additional sensor data (e.g., accelerometer data and/or images captured at the ARD) is not commensurate with a user interaction. If the difference is under the reporting threshold or unlikely due to user interaction, the ARD may refrain from transmitting the sensor data. These techniques conserves power at the ARD, relieves the back-end system from needless processing, and enables more accurate indications of the amount of the item stored by the ARD.

Abstract: A vehicle authentication method, a recording medium storing a program, a terminal device, and a vehicle authentication system which may raise security level on vehicle authentication by a user are provided. In the vehicle authentication method, the terminal device acquires a vehicle authenticator for authentication of a reserved vehicle, sends a reference vehicle a request for a vehicle authenticator for authentication of the reference vehicle, and determines whether the vehicle authenticators of the reference vehicle and the reserved vehicle coincide. Then a message that the reference vehicle is the reserved vehicle is displayed on the display unit upon determination that the vehicle authenticators of the reference vehicle and the reserved vehicle coincide. And a message that the reference vehicle is not the reserved vehicle is displayed on the display unit upon determination that the vehicle authenticators of the reference vehicle and the reserved vehicle do not coincide.

Abstract: A disclosed computer-implemented method may include (1) receiving, from a participant of a discovery service of a social networking system, a request for a friend of the participant to assist the participant in making connections with other participants of the discovery service, (2) identifying at least one set of information that is associated with the discovery service and that is designated as private to the participant, and (3) providing the friend of the participant with access to at least a portion of the set of information via a recommendation interface that enables the friend of the participant to make recommendations to the participant regarding the set of information to assist the participant in making connections with other participants of the discovery service. Abstract: Some embodiments provide a system that facilitates use of a question-and-answer system. During operation, the system determines a community value of a question submitted by a first user to the question-and-answer system. Next, the system prioritizes answering of the question by a second user in the question-and-answer system based on the community value.

Abstract: A vending device has at least one display area and an evaluator. The display area is formed by a rigid body, and has at least two, spatially-separated product areas, the rigid body of the display area being held by force transmission areas of at least two weighing cells. The evaluator is configured to, at periodic intervals or when a total weight detected by the at least two weighing cells changes: determine new coordinates of a center of gravity from data of the weighing cells, and transmit the new coordinates to a controller. The controller is configured to: determine a product area within the display area based upon changes in the coordinates of the center of gravity, determine, from the change in a total weight, the weight of goods removed from or added to the determined product area, and update an inventory, stored in a memory, for the product.

Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for fan identification on a communication device for a performer during a performance. A service provider may determine attendees to a performance given by a performer. The service provider may also determine fan information for each of the attendees, for example, using media related to the performer on a communication device of the attendees, biometrics of the attendees during the performance, and/or social networking interactions. Based on the fan information for one or more attendees, the service provider may choose to recognize certain attendees during the performance, such as with a message from the performer or an upgrade. The service provider may notify the performer on a wearable or prompter device during the performance. The service provider may further track the attendees' interest during the performance and provide feedback to the performer.

Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure provide techniques to optimize dynamic third party review generation for transmitting redirection request links. In one implementation, a system is provide that comprises a memory to store profile data for one or more merchants; and a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory, to receive an indication to generate an online review for a client device associated with a location of a merchant. Responsive to receiving the indication, one or more weighted event factors associated with the merchant are determined. One or more distribution parameters specified by a merchant system are selected based on the weighted event factors for the merchant. An online third party review site is identified based on the distribution parameters. Thereupon, the online third party site is caused to transmit a reviewing object to the client device for posting the online review of the location of the merchant.

Abstract: A processing device is to: identify, using digital interview data of interviewees captured during interviews, a subset of the interviewees that have a disability; label a first group of the interviewees as disabled and a second group of the interviewees as not disabled with reference to the disability; identify features from the digital interview data for the first group that correlate with the disability; formulate a digital fingerprint of the features that identifies how the first group differs from the second group with reference to the disability; map the digital fingerprint of the features onto a dataset of an interviewee belonging to the second group of the interviewees, to generate a mapped dataset; and determine, from the mapped dataset, effects of the digital fingerprint on a job performance score for the interviewee.

Abstract: Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure improve the functionality of electronic messaging and imaging software and systems by determining the current activities of users based on location sensor information from the users' computing devices and generating customized media content items based on their activities. The media content can be generated for a variety of topics and shared with other users. For example, media content (e.g., images or video) can be generated and displayed on a user's computing device, as well as transmitted to other users via electronic communications, such as short message service (SMS) or multimedia service (MMS) texts and emails.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that improves usage of an application. During operation, the system identifies, in a set of social media posts, a question related to use of the application. Next, the system responds to the set of social media posts with a set of answers to the question on one or more social media platforms and tracks social media responses to the set of answers. The system then calculates a set of relevance scores for the answers based on the tracked social media responses, wherein each relevance score represents a relevance of one of the answers to the question. Upon identifying the question in a subsequent social media post, the system selects an answer from the set of answers based on a relevance score of the answer and posts the answer in response to the subsequent social media post.
