Abstract: The present disclosure concerns embodiments of a polymeric compound, embodiments of a method for making and using the disclosed polymeric compound, and embodiments of a polymerizable composition. The polymeric compound is formed via photopolymerization of a photoinitiator and various polymerizable monomers. The disclosed polymeric compound and its components are useful as biomaterials, photolithography, and other applications. In particular disclosed embodiments, the photoinitiator comprises one or more chromophores capable of absorbing energy at particular wavelengths suitable for promoting formation of a carbanion capable of reacting with a polymerizable monomer.
Abstract: A radiation curable aqueous coating composition having a 85° gloss of ?60 upon drying comprising (A) 10 to 99 wt % of a polyurethane, (B) 1 to 90 wt % of a radiation curable component; (C) 0.1 to 10 wt % of an associative thickener; wherein at least 80 wt % of (A)+(B)+(C) has a particle size greater than 500 nm and wherein the C?C bond concentration of the composition is 0.2 to 5.0 mmol per g of (A)+(B)+(C).

The UV-curable metallic compositions provide a high gloss metallic finish, retain the gloss level over storage duration, and maintain press and shelf stability, while maintaining fast cure speeds. The metallic finishes of the instant compositions have gloss above 190 GU measured at 60°.
Abstract: There are provided a photosensitive composition, and a cured product of the photosensitive composition, the photosensitive composition being an ultraviolet curable composition that is curable in a short time while a portion of the photosensitive composition such as a dark portion where radicals are not generated at all is curable.
