  • Patent number: 10339541
Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering application media content to multiple social media systems (SMSs) for display to SMS members. The method includes the steps of providing initial application media content to respective SMSs. Once a respective SMS member interacts with the initial content, a social relationship management system (SRMS) receives indication from an SMS of such interaction, and retrieves a unique application media file relating to application media content. The unique application media file is then applied to an application media container file that overcomes certain formatting protocols and requirements of the SMS and enables transmission and delivery of the application media content to the SMS. The application media content is then delivered to the SMS member on the SMS through the application media container file.

  • Patent number: 10318978
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an approach for enhancing computer interaction challenge-response tests (e.g., Completely Automatic Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart, or CAPTCHA). Furthermore, embodiments of the present invention provide an approach for introducing advertising in such challenge-response tests, such that users are presented with opportunities to learn about or reinforce brands. In a typical embodiment, when a user attempts to access content (e.g., web content), the user will be presented with a CAPTCHA test. The CAPTCHA test typically includes an advertisement (e.g., logo, label, etc.) and an associated question for the user to answer. Along these lines, the advertisement is generally selected based on the user's demographics (e.g., interests, gender, age, etc.). If the user successfully responds to the question and/or responds within a certain amount of time, a reward can be determined (e.g.

  • Patent number: 10282754
Abstract: An approach to commercial information tagging. A digital radio receiver may be configured to receive commercial metadata that is part of a digital radio stream. A user may be able to provide input indicating that a particular commercial is of interest, thereby selecting the commercial metadata. The digital radio receiver may then determine one or more devices, from a set of devices that are communicatively connected to the digital radio receiver, that are configured to receive advertising associated with the commercial metadata. The digital radio receiver may then transmit the advertising to the various devices. In response, the devices may display information about the entity that sponsored the particular commercial; for example, a cellular phone may display a coupon, while a GPS device displays directions to the nearest location.

  • Patent number: 8645207
Abstract: In one aspect, a database in which target subscribers of different subscriber classes that can be reached via a communications system are allocated, and one respective marketer is assigned to each of the subscriber classes. When the communications system establishes a first communications relation between a first subscriber and a target subscriber while using a destination address given by the first subscriber, the subscriber class of the target subscriber is determined based on the destination address. The determination of the subscriber class results in the establishment of a second communications relation between the first subscriber and a marketer assigned to the determined subscriber class.

  • Patent number: 8412575
Abstract: Offers, such as bids in an advertising network, may be determined and/or managed by accepting an ad budget and at least one ad serving constraint, and then generating offer information using the ad budget and the serving constraint(s). The offer may be generated by obtaining, for each of the ad serving constraint(s), a plurality of points, wherein each point includes a cost per event value and an event quantity value. These points collectively define a landscape. A convex landscape for each of the ad serving constraint(s) is then determined from the landscape(s). One or more points from at least one of the convex landscapes is then used to generate the offer information.

  • Patent number: 8407092
Abstract: A data processing system is described wherein use of resources in the system is metered. Metering evidence is generated which is difficult to forge and is, thus, relatively resistant to tampering. Such a system finds application, for example, in the field of metering the amount of time a person spends reading advertisement that are published on the World Wide Web. If reliable, such metering evidence may be used by the owner of the web server that contains the advertisement to bill the originator of the advertisement.

  • Patent number: 8407089
Abstract: A method and means by which a mobile phone can participate in a promotional offer that is sponsored by an interested party is disclosed. The sponsor creates a promotional campaign and defines its parameters using promotional offer code (POC) data. The POC data is then pre-provisioned into the mobile phone. If a mobile phone user becomes aware of the promotional campaign and wishes to participate, he navigates his mobile phone menu structure to a “promotions” menu and inputs a POC that was included in the sponsor's advertisements. The mobile phone then links the input POC to the pre-provisioned POC data. Another function in the mobile phone then constructs a promotional offer entry (POE) that conforms to the parameters set out in the pre-provisioned POC data. The POE is then transmitted to the sponsor. The sponsor reviews all valid entries and chooses one or more winners. The sponsor can then broadcast a status message to all entrants to inform them whether they won anything from the promotion.
