  • Patent number: 5683126
Abstract: The dumpster dual locking assembly includes a housing having two side walls each having an opening. Extending through the openings is a rotatable sleeve which has at one end a flange with a hole for receiving the barrel of a padlock. A rotation bar, which also has at one end a flange with a hole for receiving the barrel of a padlock, extends through and is rotatable relative to the sleeve. A locking bar for securing the hinged lid of a dumpster is coupled to the rotation bar. Both the sleeve and the rotation bar can be manually locked together by placing a lock through their flanges. When the dumpster is upright, a gravitational lock prevents the sleeve from rotating in the housing. The gravitational lock includes a support fixed to the sleeve, a pendulum supported at one end by and rotatable relative to the support, and a latch. The latch locks into a catch mounted on the interior surface of the housing when the dumpster is upright.

  • Patent number: 5683215
Abstract: A fastening device for fastening a first element to a second element, for example for mounting a component of a motor vehicle screen wiping apparatus on a panel of the bodywork of the vehicle, is of the general kind comprising a bolt and nut assembly, with the shank of the bolt passing through a hole in the panel. A shock absorbing bush, e.g. of rubber, is interposed between the bolt and nut assembly and the hole. When the device is tightened, this bush is compressed axially between an annular and radial thrust surface carried by the bolt and the annular gripping face of the nut. A gripping spacer element is disposed axially between the radial thrust surface and the annular gripping face of the nut.

  • Patent number: 5678438
Abstract: A cabinet lock is disclosed which is easily convertible between a drawer lock and a door lock, by rotating the lock cylinder 90 degrees within the lock body. The cabinet lock includes a lock body with a mounting plate and an extending sleeve that defines a central opening. A portion of the sleeve is indented inward to form a two-sided right angle notch that projects into the internal cavity of the sleeve, with an aperture through each side of the notch. The lock cylinder has first and second notch mating sections, rotated 90 degrees from one another about the cylinder, each having a threaded bore therein. The lock cylinder can be inserted into the sleeve in a first position, or in a second position rotated 90 degrees from the first position, and fixed in place with a screw that passes through one of the bores and one of the apertures. A lock plug with a bolt driving mechanism is adapted to fit within a longitudinal opening in the lock cylinder, and a bolt is operatively attached to the bolt driving mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5676408
Abstract: A pocket door latch assembly has a housing with a latch arm pivotally mounted therewithin. The latch arm has a latch nose at one end and an inverted generally V-shaped slot adjacent its other end, and the arm is pivotable between a first position wherein it is entirely within the housing and a second position wherein the latch nose extends outwardly of the housing. An actuator has a portion slidable within the slot between a first position adjacent the one end of the arm and a second position spaced from the one end to pivot the latch arm between its first and second positions. The actuating means is manipulable outwardly of the housing to slide the slidable portion of the actuating means within the slot between its first and second positions, thereby pivoting the latch arm between its positions.
