  • Patent number: 5128848
Abstract: Given is an operating light, with one or several spotlights, each with a light source, that is shielded by a counter reflector in the direction of radiation. The stream of light is focused by the counter reflector and a reflector onto an optical system closing off the housing in the direction of radiation. To guarantee a homogeneous illumination of deeper surgical wounds also, the optical system is structured as a Fresnel lens made up of annular prisms that contain a dioptric central region and a catadioptric edge (rim) region. The slope of the flanks and the height of the annular prisms are dimensioned such that the light beams emanating from the Fresnel lens cut the optical axis at a distance that is all the greater the shorter the distance with which the light beams emanate from the Fresnel lens is away from the optical axis.

  • Patent number: 5121311
Abstract: An LED holder uses two pivotably connected portions to mount an upper and a lower LED on a printed circuit board. The first portion has a pair of receptacles for holding the bodies of the LEDs, and a pair of bores extending from the bottom of each receptacle. The second portion has a pair of bores for receiving the leads of the top LED when the second portion is in an open position with respect to the first portion. Pivoting the second portion toward the first portion bends the leads of the top LED between the bores, and brings a guide surface to bear on the leads of the bottom LED, bending the bottom LED leads. Further pivoting the second portion latches it into place against the first portion, and holds the bent leads in position for connecting to a printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5118196
Abstract: Wireless Christmas tree lights (1) illuminated by means of Electro-Magnetic Energy eminating from a self contained antenna. Multiple wireless lamps may be placed anywhere on the tree without being constrained by wire length. The Electro-Magnetic Energy is produced from an RF power unit (5) decorated like a gift box that may be placed under the tree or in a remote location several feet away. The various illumination effects are selected via a magnetic wand (8) that activates switches and selector circuits, and a non-linear modulator internal to the RF generator.

  • Patent number: 5109323
Abstract: A socket arrangement for a light fixture holding a tubular lamp having contacts on opposite ends, providing a fixed socket opposite a spring loaded socket with a lamp maneuvering cavity adjacent to the fixed socket, allowing a tubular lamp to be installed nearly straight-in to the sockets, and preventing electrical shock. By providing the maneuvering cavity opposite the spring loaded socket, a first end of a tubular lamp can be maneuvered into the cavity to allow an opposite end of the tubular lamp to insert into the spring loaded contact, and further insertion causes compression of the spring loaded contact, which retracts the first end out of the maneuvering cavity a sufficient distance to swing the first end through a slot formed in a side of the fixed socket and into the fixed socket, whereupon the spring loaded socket expands to resiliently hold the tubular lamp between the two sockets.
