  • Patent number: 5075832
Abstract: This is a safety strap for a light fixture. It is mounted on the body or shade under the light tubes. The safety strap keeps the tubes from falling out of the light possibly from incorrect installation of tubes or someone may bump the light causing the tubes to fall which may result in injury not only from broken and sharp glass but also harmful gasses that escape from the broken tubes, thus injury may be prevented if the safety strap is used.

  • Patent number: 5073847
Abstract: A lighting instrument having pivotable dichroic filters arranged in a substantially radial arrangement with respect to a projected light beam. Multiple sets of such filters are spaced along the axis of the light beam to vary the color of the light beam emitted from the instrument. A gearing mechanism rotates all filters of each set in synchronization with each other and independently with respect to filters of the other sets. The filters may be positioned to pass unfiltered light to vary the saturation of the light beam.

  • Patent number: 5072342
Abstract: A hand-held pulsed-light generator is presented for temporarily blinding and assailant at a distance. The light generator comprises a high energy storage capacitor, charged by high voltage power supply, and a high intensity flashtube. A high current electronic switch discharges the capacitor through the flashtube thereby generating an intense flash of light. The flash is focused by a reflector to form a concentrated beam pulse which is aimed at an assailant's head. The intensity of the pulsed-light beam striking the eyes is sufficiently strong to cause temporary blindness, thereby rendering the assailant immobile. By using a discharge capacitor with very high energy storage, and an ultra high intensity flashtube, and a focusing reflector for concentrating the light, it is possible to project a light flash that is several orders of magnitude brighter than the sun.

  • Patent number: 5072338
Abstract: An inspection/detection system for use in forensic applications includes a carrying case, a high intensity lamp assembly and a plurality of notch filters. The carrying case has a cover-lid and is a rectangular box with a closed end and an open end to which the cover-lid is hingedly coupled. The high intensity lamp assembly generates light energy of multiple wavelengths within the visible spectrum and infrared spectrum. The high intensity lamp assembly has an output aperture and is mounted within the carrying case. A power supply unit is mounted within the carrying case and energizes the high intensity lamp assembly in order to generate light energy therefrom. An optical connector is optically coupled to the output aperture of the high intensity lamp assembly. A flexible optical fiber cable is optically coupled to the optical connector.

  • Patent number: 5067055
Abstract: An integrated combination of a headlamp section and a sidelamp section for a vehicle, with the sidelamp section being oriented and rotatable at a predetermined wrap-around side facing angle with respect to the forward lighting direction of the headlamp section. This angle may be typically on the order of 90.degree. so that the sidelamp provides good continuous wrap-around side lighting and good night vision for persons riding in the vehicle or exiting therefrom. The sidelamp section may be operated in response to the turning on and off of the dimmer bulb within the headlamp section or it may be operated independently of the operation of the dimmer bulb by the use of an OR gate logic circuit in combination with an electro-mechanical relay and switch. This circuit is operable for energizing and de-energizing the relay and switch in response to power applied to any one of a plurality of parallel connected inputs of the OR gate logic circuit.
