Abstract: An apparatus for storing data includes a latch circuit comprising a first set of transistors that propagate an input signal to an output signal and a second set of transistors that do not propagate the input signal of the latch circuit to the output signal wherein a gate pitch for the first set of transistors is substantially greater than a gate pitch for the second set of transistors. Also disclosed herein, a method for improving circuit performance includes receiving an electronic representation of a plurality of latching circuits associated with a design file and increasing transistor gate pitch for selected transistors of the plurality of latching circuits, wherein the selected transistors comprise transistors that propagate an input signal to an output signal. The method may also include fabricating a chip comprising the plurality of latching circuits. A computer program product corresponding to the method is also disclosed within.

  • Patent number: 9871387
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein disclose a wireless charging system configured to generate and transmit power waves that, due to physical waveform characteristics converge at a predetermined location in a transmission field to generate a pocket of energy. Receivers, associated with an electronic device being powered by the wireless charging system, can extract energy from these pocket of energy and then convert the extracted energy into usable electric power for the electronic device associated with a receiver. The pocket of energy may manifest as a three-dimensional field (e.g., transmission field) where energy can be harvested by a receiver positioned within or nearby the pocket of energy. Video sensors capture actual video images of fields of view within the transmission field, and a processor identifies selected objects, selected events, and/or selected locations within the captured actual video images.

  • Patent number: 9858374
Abstract: An improved approach is provided to displaying waveform data, where a schematic and corresponding waveform data can be displayed directly on a schematic of an electronic circuit. By providing both the schematic and waveform results in a same display, circuit designers and verification engineers are given more control over their working environments and can more efficiently utilize available data including the schematic and the waveform data. Furthermore, results can be pinned to a relevant net to which those results correspond providing circuit designers and verification engineers with an ability to view only the available data they wish to view, and to do so in a context of the electronic circuit itself on the schematic.

  • Patent number: 9851407
Abstract: The invention relates to a power management system for supplying backup DC power to peak and/or high current demand battery applications, such as motor starting or an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) used to power a critical load, such as, a data bus or other critical load, after an event, such as loss of primary AC or DC input, during relatively cold ambient temperatures. Two or more heaters can be provided; for example, a low power heater and a high-power heater. In a maintenance mode, the low power heater is used to maintain batteries at a predetermined temperature. In this mode, a battery charger is used to power the low power heater. In a boost mode, after the primary AC or DC input is restored, and battery temperature is too low to back up the critical load, the battery charger supplies power to one or both of the heaters.
