  • Patent number: 6793516
Abstract: A pivoting lever which is part of a connector plug used to connect an electrical cord to a jack of a telephone, computer, other electrical device or other terminal housing. The pivoting lever is part of the mechanism used to lock the plug to a jack of electronic devices or other terminal housings. Compression of the pivoting lever against a matter of opposing force allows the lever to return to its original state thereby allowing the locking of the connector plug to a jack cavity of an electronic device as well as providing for the connector plug's from an electronic device or terminal housing when the lever is compressed.

  • Patent number: 6793505
Abstract: A socket may comprise an array of first contacts and a set of second contacts having a greater conductive cross-sectional area than the first contacts. The set of second contacts may also have a greater conductive area efficiency than the array of first contacts, with conductive area efficiency defined as a total conductive cross-sectional area divided by a total occupied area. The array of first contacts may electrically couple signal pads of a land grid array (LGA) component with a plurality of signal lines in a printed circuit board (PCB). The set of second contacts may electrically couple power delivery land pads of the LGA component with power and ground planes of the PCB.

  • Patent number: 6790084
Abstract: A watertight modular system for floor-mounted electrical and/or data receptacles which includes a cover, a lid, a gasket and a base plate. The cover has a plurality of retaining walls extending downwardly from the lower surface and defining a plurality of enclosed regions and can also include a data port module which slidably engages a slot in the cover. The cover has at least one lid that includes a pivot mechanism at a first end for mounting the lid flush with the upper surface of the cover when in a closed position and for exposing the receptacle when in an open position and a snap-in mechanism at a second end for providing a positive hold in the closed position. When the base plate, gasket and cover are assembled, the top surface of the base plate is flush with the upper surface of the cover and the retaining walls and the continuous perimeter wall sealably contact the gasket.

  • Patent number: 6669487
Abstract: A multifunction IC card (MFC) has compatibility with a multimedia card, an SD card, etc. in that connector terminals (#1 through #13) are disposed on a card substrate (1) in two rows in a zigzag fashion, and realizes multifunction facilities in that a memory card unit (3) and an SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card unit (4) are respectively exclusively connected and mounted to predetermined terminals of the connector terminals (#1 through #13). The memory card unit (3) and the SIM card unit (4) are respectively separately provided with areas for storing secrete codes for security. Thus, one IC card is capable of implementing multifunction facilities different in security level.

  • Patent number: 6398596
Abstract: A universal ground clamp for connecting a ground wire to a grounding electrode of various diameters having a thin insulating layer without damaging the grounding electrode. The universal ground clamp having an elongated strap that wraps and is secured around the grounding electrode. A first end of the strap has an abrasive outer surface. A fastener frictionally engages against the first end in a direction normal to the grounding electrode, causing the abrasive outer surface to intimately contact the grounding electrode. In a preferred embodiment, the universal ground clamp further comprises a U-shaped bracket which has a first leg having an opening registered with a threaded opening of a second leg. A second end of the strap has a plurality of longitudinally spaced apertures, one of which is aligned between the openings of the first and second legs. A bolt is threadably couplable with the threaded opening and passable through an aperture of the second end of the strap and the opening of the first leg.

  • Patent number: 6350144
Abstract: A communications cable terminal block switching mechanism employs a terminal block housing with a number of chambers and a number of openings for service wires to be inserted into the chambers. A cable stub enters the terminal block and contains feed-in pairs and feed-out pairs. Based on the condition of the switching mechanism, a wire pair may be expressed through the terminal block unterminated, or, a wire pair may be terminated to a service wire at the block. Specifically, a number of sets of electrical contact elements, corresponding to the number of openings, is provided, and one of each of the sets of contact elements is configured in one of each of the chambers.
