  • Patent number: 9559810
Abstract: According to various aspects of the present disclosure, medium access control (MAC) sublayer logic of a device or a system may generate and implement a preamble structure of a data unit including a signal field which includes a four-bit cyclic redundancy check sequence providing a Hamming distance of two. The signal field portion of the preamble structure may include information related to a plurality of physical layer parameters used for wireless communication of the data unit. The preamble structure may be stored on a machine-accessible medium. The preamble may be generated by a data unit builder of the device, which may further receive a frame including a data payload, and encapsulate the frame with the preamble portion to generate the data unit. A transmitter coupled with the data unit builder may then wirelessly transmit the data unit using an antenna array.

  • Patent number: 9554322
Abstract: A transmission control method for a vehicular ad hoc network system having a plurality of mobile nodes is provided. The mobile nodes include a source node, a destination node, and a plurality of relay nodes. The source node transmits a data packet to the destination node through the relay nodes. The method includes each mobile node capturing mobility information being periodically broadcasted from neighboring mobile nodes to correspondingly update the connection state table thereof, wherein the connection state table records the coverage remaining time between the mobile node and neighboring mobile nodes; when any of relay nodes determines that the coverage remaining time between the relay node and the subsequent mobile node is less than a predefined threshold, the relay node transforms into a proxy node, stores the data packet, and establishes a reliable sub-connection between the proxy node and a next proxy node or the destination node.

  • Patent number: 9554164
Abstract: The present invention relates to a physical layer signalling in a digital broadcast network. In particular, for a digital broadcast network supporting a configuration with a plurality of physical layer pipes, a type indicator is signalled on physical layer for a pipe, the type indicator indicates the format of the input stream which may specify a transport stream, a generic stream or an IP stream. In addition, per physical layer pipe application of header and/or content compression to the user packet headers of the input stream is signalled. Another physical layer parameters are advantageously provided or extended in order to increase the flexibility and efficiency of the layer 1 signalling.

  • Patent number: 9438517
Abstract: In a method of identifying matching packets at different locations in a network, a first plurality of packets is received at a first location in the network, and a first subset thereof is selected in accordance with a filter. A second plurality of packets is received at a second location in the network, and a second subset thereof is selected in accordance with the same filter. Each packet in the first and second subsets is parsed to extract invariant header fields from an outermost IP header inwards, until a minimal set of invariant header fields is obtained for that packet, or until it is determined that a minimal set is not obtainable for that packet. A packet signature is computed from the minimal set for each packet having a minimal set, and the packet signatures are compared to identify matching packets in the first and second subsets.

  • Patent number: 9386550
Abstract: Systems and methods are described synchronizing communications frames and their respective time slots for satellite communications architectures having multiple satellites in the same orbital slot in such a way that addresses inter-satellite inter-beam interference. In some embodiments, the first and second satellites communicate with a respective number of ground terminals (e.g., gateway and user terminals) according to first and second satellite time slots, respectively. The satellites maintain relative positions in their orbital slot to manifest a maximum path delay difference between first and second path delays, the first path delay being between the first ground terminals and the first satellite, and the second path delay being between the first ground terminals and the second satellite. A synchronization system can offset the first satellite time slots from the second satellite time slots as a function of the maximum path delay difference.

  • Patent number: 9385933
Abstract: In one embodiment, a targeted node in a computer network receives a probe generation request (PGR), and in response, generates a link-local multicast PGR (PGR-Local) carrying instructions for generating probes based on the PGR. The targeted node then transmits the PGR-Local to neighbors of the targeted node to cause one or more of the neighbors to generate and transmit probes to a collection device in the computer network according to the PGR-Local instructions. In another embodiment, a particular node in a computer network receives a link-local multicast probe generation request (PGR-Local) from a targeted node in the computer network, the targeted node having received the PGR-Local from a remote device, and determines how to generate probes based on instructions carried within the PGR-Local before sending one or more probes to a collection device in the computer network according to the PGR-Local instructions.

  • Patent number: 9356884
Abstract: In one embodiment, a copy of an original packet of a traffic flow is created at an ingress leaf node of a cloud switch. The ingress leaf node forwards the original packet along a less-specific path through the cloud switch, the less-specific path based on a domain index of an egress domain for the original packet. The copy of the original packet is modified to create a more specific path learn request packet. The ingress leaf node forwards the more specific path learn request packet along the less-specific path through the cloud switch. The ingress leaf node received back a more specific path learn request reply packet that includes an indication of a fabric system port. The ingress leaf node then programs a forwarding table based on the indication of the fabric system port, to have subsequent packets of the traffic flow forwarded along a more-specific path.
