  • Patent number: 5836839
Abstract: Game apparatus for tossing and catching a ball includes a sling having a generally rectangular web suspended between a pair of rigid handles. A cord loop runs slidingly through each tubular handle such that when the handles are parallel and drawn apart from one another to the maximum distance the cord loop's length will allow, parallel, first and second taut cord portions run between the first ends of the handles and between the second ends of the handles, respectively. The web is constructed of either foraminous or nonforaminous fabric, and includes hemmed, parallel side edges constructed as tubes through which the parallel cord portions easily slide. A ball approximately the same size and weight as a regulation baseball is used with the embodiment having the nonforaminous web, and a lower-density, sponge rubber ball is used with the foraminous web. The elements described are also presented as a kit for selective use of either web with its respective preferred ball.

  • Patent number: 5836837
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a round ball rebounding game played on a circular court consisting of a spherical structure supported by a single pole and having a plurality of goals placed at equidistant intervals about the maximum horizontal diameter of the sphere and parallel to the playing surface. The apparatus further comprising a plurality of discharge tubes inserted into the bottom of the sphere, said number of tubes corresponding to the number of goals. Openings are further cut into the sphere relative to the position of each goal such that a net attached to the bottom of each goal can direct a round ball into the interior of the sphere with the ball eventually departing the bottom of the sphere through one of the discharge tubes which then deposit the ball at the base of the structure along the playing surface.

  • Patent number: 5833538
Abstract: An apparatus and method for automatically switching between any of a plurality of theoretical expectations on a gaming or amusement device of the kind where the outcome is determined by a combination of random or pseudo-random events yielding an associated score from a table of values. Any one of a plurality of predetermined random "trigger" events will cause the amusement or gaming device to automatically vary the likelihood of certain random events, without altering the associated score for any particular outcome, for a minimum "duration" period. By altering the likelihood of any particular outcome, the device will operate at a different theoretical expectation.

  • Patent number: 5830083
Abstract: A challenging and patience developer toy. This invention has a handle perpendicular to a four ended receptacle shaped like a cross. The four ends constitute the male extensions and form the axes of the male connector. The male extensions are: a peg, a cup, a fin and a cross-fin. Extending from the point of intersection of the four male extensions, at the opposite end, from the handle is a short piece of string. Attached to this string is a part of the toy that I refer to as the female connector. The female connector is a cylinder with one of its circular bases attached to the string. It has a central hole of a size corresponding to the peg of the male connector. It has a circular void concentric to the central peg hole of a size corresponding to and complementary to the edge of the cup on the male connector. It also has a groove diametrically passing through the central hole and the concentric circular void and a second groove diametric and perpendicular to the first diametric grove.
