Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and software for enhancing document productivity. In at least one implementation, an attempt to add a data connection in a document is identified. In response to identifying the attempt to add the data connection in the document, at least one other document is identified as relevant to the attempt. A suggestion may be surfaced in a user interface that identifies at least a portion of the one other documents.

Abstract: At least certain embodiments of the present disclosure include an environment with user interface software interacting with a software application. A method for operating through an application programming interface (API) in this environment includes transferring a set bounce call. The method further includes setting at least one of maximum and minimum bounce values. The set bounce call causes a bounce of a scrolled region in an opposite direction of a scroll based on a region past an edge of the scrolled region being visible in a display region at the end of the scroll.

Abstract: A vehicular electronic device such that volume increase/decrease adjustment can be easily performed using a volume switch displayed on a touch-panel type display unit. Upon detection of a touch operation in a reference volume switch region displayed in an operation region of the display unit, an operation area enabling volume increase/decrease is enlarged from the reference volume switch region to a wide-region volume switch region. Thus, the operation for increasing or decreasing (adjusting) volume (volume increase/decrease operation) can be easily performed.

Abstract: A display control device includes an operation-display unit and a controller. The operation-display unit hierarchically displays multiple functions using multiple screens and accepts an operation performed through an approach or touch of an object. The controller performs control so that, when the object approaches a function displayed on an original screen, a next screen associated with the function selected as a result of the approach of the object is temporarily displayed using a display mode corresponding to a relationship between the original screen and the next screen.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for interacting with a 3D virtual image containing activatable objects. The system of the invention includes a 3D display device that presents to a user a 3D image, an image sensor and a processor. The processor analyzes images obtained by the image sensor to determine when the user has placed an activating object such as a hand or a finger, or has performed a gesture related to an activatable object, in the 3D space, at the location where the user perceives an activatable object to be located. The user thus perceives that he is “touching” the activatable object with the activating object.

Abstract: Content presented in association with a transmitting endpoint is obtained by the transmitting endpoint and transmitted to a receiving endpoint of a videoconference, along with associated information regarding interaction of a presenter with the content at the transmitting side. The receiving endpoint presents the presented content obtained from the transmitting endpoint similar to the presentation format at the transmitting side. Where the original presentation format is not suitable for transmission, a video image of the content in the original presentation format may be transmitted. An intermediate control unit, such as a multipoint control unit, may relay content and associated information between transmitting and receiving endpoints.

The computer servers can automatically post the content extracted from the electronic message at the destination at the website.

The method, system, and computer program product can include presenting a stream computing application, presenting metrics associated with at least one compute node and at least one processing element (or portion thereof), receiving input from a graphical display, associating one or more processing elements (or portions thereof) to one or more compute nodes, and updating the graphical display and the metrics to reflect the selective associations.

A method comprises simultaneously displaying a plurality of icons in a clustered arrangement, each icon being assigned to a respective one of a plurality of values; receiving a first input in association with a first icon, the first input indicating a preference for the value assigned to the first icon; adjusting a size of the first icon in response to the first input; redistributing, within the clustered arrangement, the remaining icons to accommodate the size adjustment; receiving a second input in association with a second icon, the second input indicating a dislike for the value assigned to the second icon; deleting, from the clustered arrangement, the second icon in response to the second input; and redistributing, within the clustered arrangement, the remaining icons to fill a space emptied by the deletion.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluating the quality of automatically composed digital content based on non-intentional user feedback obtained through a haptic interface. For example, a method includes accessing non-intentional user feedback collected by a haptic interface executing on a computing device, wherein the non-intentional user feedback comprises information regarding user interaction with elements of digital content rendered by the computing device. The digital content is content that is automatically generated using content generation rules. The method further includes evaluating a quality of the digital content based on the non-intentional user feedback, and generating an evaluation report that includes information regarding the quality of the digital content.

Abstract: Methods and systems for viewing images. One system includes a source of images, a computer, and a screen. The computer is configured to generate a graphical user interface or GUI. The GUI includes a first window in which one or more of the images are displayed. The GUI is displayed on the screen and the graphical user interface module generates an output or modifies the GUI in response to user input (e.g., tap, click, etc.). In response to the input, the graphical user interface generates an image-navigation map. The image-navigation map is displayed in a foreground of the first window and the one or more images are in displayed in a background of the first window. The image-navigation map includes one or more thumbnail images of at least one of the one or more images.

Abstract: Communication using a communication device may be configured using a variety of options and processes. In one example, communication channels may be selected or otherwise designated. Depending on whether a communication channel has been previous selected or designated, differing processes and options may be provided to a user, thereby facilitating communication configuration. The processes and options may also differ depending on whether a communication channel is currently activated. Moreover, in some examples, if a device has not been previously selected as a communication destination, the communication configuration and process may provide an option to select a destination device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods, software, devices and APIs for defining touch events for application level software. Furthermore, some embodiments are directed to simplifying the recognition of single and multiple touch events for applications running in multi-touch enabled devices. To simplify the recognition of single and multiple touch events, each view within a particular window can be configured as either a multi-touch view or a single touch view. Furthermore, each view can be configured as either an exclusive or a non-exclusive view. Depending on the configuration of a view, touch events in that and other views can be either ignored or recognized. Ignored touches need not be sent to the application. Selectively ignoring touches can allow for simpler software elements that do not take advantage of advanced multi touch features to be executed at the same device and time as more complex software elements.

Abstract: An ebook is represented as a plurality of ebook pages associated with a plurality of segments. A summary view command is received, the summary view command requesting a particular type of summary view of a plurality of available summary views. One or more ebook pages are identified, for a summary view based in part on the requested type of summary view, and page thumbnails are generated for each of the identified one or more ebook pages. The generated page thumbnails are grouped by segment, using the plurality of segments. A summary view graphical user interface (GUI) is generated for the requested type of summary view using the grouped page thumbnails, the summary view GUI vertically listing one or more segments, of the plurality of segments, and horizontally listing page thumbnails associated with the one or more segments, and the summary view GUI is displayed.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing graphical user interfaces are described. To provide greater access and consolidation to frequently used items in the graphical user interface, a userbar is established which includes a plurality of item representations. To permit a greater number of items to reside in the userbar, a magnification function can be provided which magnifies items within the userbar when they are proximate the cursor associated with the graphical user interface.

Abstract: A framework is provided for obtaining window information. The window information can be applied to different assignment models to assign windows to different groups. A group may correspond to a task being performed by a user. The window information can be semantic or temporal information captured as window events and properties of windows whose events are captured. Temporal information can be information about switches between windows. Semantic information can be window titles. Temporal information, semantic information, or both, can be used to assign windows to groups.

Abstract: A system for displaying a plurality of registered images is disclosed. A first viewport unit displays a representation of a first image dataset in a first viewport. A second viewport unit displays a representation of a second image dataset in a second viewport. A position indication unit enables a user to indicate a position in the first dataset displayed in the first viewport, to obtain a user-indicated position. A corresponding position determining unit determines a position in the second image dataset corresponding to the user-indicated position, to obtain a corresponding position in the second image dataset, based on correspondence information mapping positions in the first image dataset to corresponding positions in the second image dataset. The second viewport unit displays an indication of the corresponding position in the second viewport.
