  • Patent number: 6768243
Abstract: A small-size motor has a case cover 11 formed with three voids, and electric elements such as chip capacitors are contained in the three voids. A first electric element is mechanically fixed between a pair of brush units in a first void and is electrically connected. The remaining two second and third electric elements are located on both sides of the first electric element and are pressed on a brush base in a motor shaft direction by a body earth terminal 14 in second and third voids, so that the body earth terminal 14 is fixed to the case cover 11 and the two electric elements are mechanically fixed and electrically connected. A sufficient space is secured in the motor case cover made of synthetic resin, so that three electric elements such as chip capacitors can be incorporated together with their wiring and support arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6768238
Abstract: A rotor for permanent magnet synchronous machines with a reduction in the stray flux transmitted through the rotor shaft includes substantially ring-shaped punched sheet metal plates with a central opening for receiving the rotor shaft, and a plurality of recesses arranged in the circumferential direction, wherein at least two permanent magnets can be inserted in each of the recesses. A corresponding intermediate sheet metal segment is arranged or can be arranged in each of the recesses between the permanent magnets. At least one of the recesses is shaped so as to form an air gap between the surface of the intermediate sheet metal segment that is oriented radially inwardly towards the center and an edge of the recess that is oriented radially outwardly from the center, when the permanent magnets are inserted radially towards the outside. The air gap aids in attenuating the stray flux.

  • Patent number: 6762527
Abstract: A DC brushless motor comprises a stator; a casing; a rotor and a cover. The magnet and the enhancing plate are locked by studs other than using glue agent. A block on the lower surface of the enhancing plate is embedded into a central hole of the magnet so as to support the magnet and cause that the rotary shaft will not con tact the magnet directly. A cover is extended with an inner sleeve. A groove seat is installed with a lower bearing and the inner sleeve is installed with a middle bearing and an upper bearing. The bearings are installed with respective enhancing pads. The rotary shaft of the rotor is installed with an annular enhancing flange and an annular inner flange which resist against the upper bearing. The inner flange resists against the enhancing pads of the middle bearing.

  • Patent number: 6731034
Abstract: An electric motor with an electromagnetic brake is disclosed, particularly for use in an angle grinder, which has a stator having at least one pole pair, in which at least one pole has a pole shoe which points to the inside towards the rotor periphery and is surrounded by a stator winding. The pole accommodates the brake means for braking of the rotor of the electric motor. The brake element can be adjusted against the braking force by the magnetic field of the stator winding when the motor is activated. The brake element is constructed of magnetically conductive material as a rocker which is exposed to the braking force off-center of the swivel axis of the brake element. As a result of the off-center application of force the brake element having a disengagement arm can be arranged in the magnetic flux of the stator winding such that a high disengagement moment can be achieved and rapid braking can occur at shutoff.

X is a circumferential dimension between a circumferentially innermost one of first and second opposing points of a first tapered portion and a circumferentially innermost one of first and second opposing points of a second tapered portion. The first and second opposing points radially oppose first and second imaginary end circles, respectively, defined by outer peripheral surfaces of the cores. Furthermore, n is the number of the teeth that are entirely placed within a range defined by X when a circumferential center of one of the teeth is radially opposed to a circumferential center of the range defined by X.
