A logic `1` flag is set in the reception confirmation flag area corresponding to the serial message number N of the message lastly stored. When a message having a message number M is newly received, the numbers M and N are compared. When M.noteq.N+1, logic `1` flags are set in all the reception failure flag areas corresponding to the serial message numbers from N+1 to M-1 for indicating the reception failure of these messages.

    Abstract: A radio pager having a frequency correcting function of the present invention includes an arithmetic section for determining, during an interval between the start and the end of a particular signal, a center amplitude based on the maximum and minimum values of the signal, producing a difference between the center amplitude and a reference voltage, and feeding back the resulting center voltage data to a quartz oscillation section or reference oscillation section. As a result, the oscillation frequency of the oscillation section is automatically corrected. This insures an accurate voltage amplitude and therefore accurate decision on a multilevel digital signal.

    Abstract: Time zones are handled in a telecommunication system with personal mobility and time dependent routing, particularly in a telecommunication system such as UPT (Universal Personal Telecommunication) system. The system is arranged to calculate the time difference between a time zone which is obtained from a subscriber, particularly a time zone where a subscriber permanently or temporarily is located, and a time where the routing takes place, particularly where a node is located, and to calculate the subscriber's current time by adding the time difference to the current time where the routing takes place. The time-dependent routing may include at least one time table for at least one subscriber. The time table includes at least two time periods for each time period. At least one terminal of function is defined to which the subscriber incoming traffic is intended to be routed. Corrections for daylight saving rules may be included. Menues for handling failed call setups and menues for callback are provided.

    Abstract: The transmitted power of a mobile telephone is established by power control bits that are transmitted in a traffic channel from a base station and that are demodulated by a rake receiver in the telephone. The rake receiver includes a plurality of demodulators that demodulate respective fingers of the traffic channel which may be caused by multipath conditions, with the power control bits from each demodulator being combined with the power control bits of the other demodulators in the rake receiver regardless of whether the demodulators are in lock with their respective fingers. The combined power control signal from a rake receiver associated with a first base station is then tested against a threshold. If the combined power is at least equal to the threshold, the combined power control signal is sent to a logic combiner. If other base stations are communicating with the mobile telephone, the combined power control signal from each of these other base stations is also sent to the logic combiner.

    Abstract: A method is provided which reduces post-dial delay in a number portability environment. In particular, a switching office which controls call routing to portable numbers (NPA-NXXs) contains a cache for which location routing number response information may be stored. The processing office concurrently checks the cache for LRN response information corresponding to the dialed number and launches a query to a number portability database. Thus, if the LRN response information in the cache is valid then the call will be routed in the timeliest manner. However, if either the cache does not have any LRN response information or the LRN response information in the cache proves not to be valid then, the switching office will have received the LRN response information from the database more quickly based on the concurrent launching of a query. Therefore, a more timely attempt at establishing a proper connection to the dialed number will occur thereby reducing post-dial delay.
