Abstract: Techniques for managing a user's tasks based on the user's focus level. High focus time slots are identified during which the user has a high level of focus, as well as low focus time slots during which the user has a low level of focus. Tasks for completion by the user are scheduled such that the high focus time slots are allocated to tasks that require a high level of user focus, and the low focus time slots are allocated to tasks that require a low level of user focus. High focus times may be identified based on user indications and/or on biometric data describing the user's physical state. Interruption requests may also be managed based on the user's focus level. Necessary resources may be pre-loaded prior to the high focus time periods, and breaks may be automatically scheduled to maintain the user's high level of focus.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for assessing risks and efficiencies based on enterprise communications information. A method for assessing risks and efficiencies based on enterprise communications information may include: collecting information from digital data tools over at least one computer network into a storage database in a computer memory; executing instructions on a computer processor to synthesize the employee communications data into structured data; mining the structured data to generate exploratory data; performing analytics on the structured data to generate confirmatory data; disambiguating the confirmatory data and exploratory data; determining a business impact based on the exploratory and confirmatory data; and implementing a business process based on a quantification of said business impact.

Abstract: In a method for estimating a severity of a current security incident reported by a customer for the customer's computer system, a processor receives from one or more administrators for a plurality of prior security incidents reported by the customer, identifications of a respective plurality of actual severities for the plurality of prior security incidents. The processor estimates, based in part on the plurality of identified actual severities of the prior security incidents, a severity of the current security incident. The processor reports the estimated severity for the current security incident.

Abstract: Techniques for creating a nomenclature to represent one or more groups within a process are provided. The techniques include obtaining a process, wherein the process comprises one or more groups, and creating a nomenclature to represent the one or more groups, wherein the nomenclature facilitates usability of the process in at least one of an operation and design environment. Techniques are also provided for generating a database of one or more processes, wherein each process is represented by a nomenclature.

Abstract: Systems and methods for recommending merchant actions include a physical merchant location having a plurality of beacon devices. A system provider device receives a plurality of first location information from the plurality of beacon devices that is collected from a customer beacon communication device that is associated with a customer. The system provider device also receives a plurality of second location information over the network from the plurality of beacon devices that is collected from a merchant beacon communication device that is associated with an asset of the merchant. The system provider device analyzes the plurality of first location information and the plurality of second location information to determine at least one merchant action recommendation related to the customer and the asset of the merchant and provides the at least one merchant action recommendation over the network for display on a display device.

Abstract: A method is provided for analyzing energy or environmental factors relative to energy. One or more processors of a data management system receives a plurality of signals relating to a plurality of streams of data. The signals directed to at least one of: energy physical assets, energy related environment factors, energy availability, energy usage and energy source. A data transformer is used to transform the data to item and attribute characterizations. The data transformer uses a processor to organize the first, second and third streams of data according to their associated items and attributes. One or more analytic engines are used to receive the items with their attributes from the data management system and provide multi-dimensional analysis relative to a scale of study for at least one business intelligence, where multi-dimensional analysis is defined as analysis that compares, calculates, correlates, or operates on items and/or attributes from at least two distinct dimensions.

Approval indications that correspond to user interactions with the approval user interface elements are obtained. An item score is maintained and adjusted based at least upon the approval indications received. The adjustment to the item score is based upon a number of received approval indications and/or a reputation score of users to which the approval indications correspond.

Abstract: A system provides quantification and mapping of cultural characteristics. An analytic engine collects and organizes cultural attribute information by binary score and by cultural tendency. A cultural score engine coupled to the analytic engine receives cultural attribute information by category and scores the cultural attribute data for each cultural attribute to create scored data. A map engine receives the scored data and maps the cultural attribute data to a graphic output. An assessment engine quantifies areas, organization priorities, or cultural tendencies associated with each graphic output. A comparison engine compares a plurality of graphic outputs in a single comparison graphic output of cultural tendencies.

Abstract: A method for conveying application information for power tools is disclosed. In one embodiment, information describing a task which is to be performed by a handheld tool is accessed. In one embodiment, the handheld tool is a power tool. Based upon the information describing the task, at least one operating parameter for performing the task is conveyed to the handheld tool. The handheld tool is then configured with the at least one operating parameter prior to initiating the task.

An analytic engine is included. In operation the data management system receives first, second, and third streams of source data. The first stream is client source data, the second stream is public source data and the third stream is acquired by the data management system. The data management system organizes the first, second and third streams of data into items and their attributes. The analytic engine receives the items with their attributes from the data management system and applies logic to provide multi-dimensional analysis relative to a scale for at least one business intelligence.

Abstract: A business method associates provisioning costs with a usage history indicative of user computing demand, and coalesces the cost data to identify an appropriate provisioning level balancing the provisioning cost and the usage demand cost. Conventional computing environments suffer from the shortcoming of being prone to overprovisioning or underprovisioning a user. Such misprovisioning is inefficient because it denotes underutilized computing resources or ineffective and/or disgruntled users. Costs increase either due to the excessive hardware bestowed on the overprovisioned user, or in support costs addressing the underprovisioned user. Configurations herein substantially overcome such shortcomings by defining a policy indicative of overprovisioning and underprovisioning indicators (misprovisioning flags), and defining rules to specify a triggering event indicating the need to reassess the provisioning of a user.

Abstract: Metrics are calculated from information acquired during execution of transactions for transactions that cannot be identified during execution. In-flight or execution related metrics are grouped by transaction type and time period. The transaction name is associated with the metrics once the transaction has completed, and data is reported for the time period once all transactions executing in that time period have completed. When a transaction has completed execution, in-flight metrics may be determined for the transaction for each time period in which other transactions executing in that time period have completed. When all transactions executing during a particular time period are complete, the in-flight metrics for transactions executing during that time period are determined and stored. The in-flight metrics may include concurrency, stalls and other data.

This dynamic staffing can include identifying wages which should be offered to workers to induce them to meet the business' needs, based on, for example, historical information stored in a database. Systems which include dynamic intraday staffing can be run using remote servers and interfaces accessed through various types of devices, such as internet enabled personal computers.

Abstract: A computer based machine system and method for coordinating a meeting between a meeting requester and a meeting prospect are described. The invention includes a meeting requester interface that allows a meeting requester to submit a meeting request. A computer readable identification code associated with a complementary article set, including at least two functionally complementary articles, is stored in a database and cross-referenced with the meeting request. A complementary article of the complementary article set is shipped to the meeting requester and a second complementary article of the complementary article set is shipped to the meeting prospect. If the meeting prospect accepts the meeting, the complementary articles may be united at the meeting and a corresponding donation to charity made.
