Abstract: A system and a method for controlling logistics transportation includes a control server to transmit position information of a trailer to an autonomous tractor, and a trailer managing device to receive information on an identification of the autonomous tractor from the control server and to open a door of a warehouse corresponding to the position information of the trailer, when information on an identification of an autonomous tractor, which is extracted from a surrounding image of the warehouse corresponding to the position information of the trailer is matched with the received information on the identification of the autonomous tractor.

In some embodiments, a system comprises a mobile device configured to receive user input to request a meeting room, determine a location of the mobile device, and transmit an indication of the request, the location of the mobile device, and the user, sensors associated with the meeting rooms configured to detect occupancy of the meeting rooms, a scheduling database configured to store scheduling information for the meeting rooms, the control circuit configured to receive the indication of the request, the location of the mobile device, and the user, determine that all meeting are booked, receive occupancy information for the meeting rooms, determine that one of the meeting rooms is unoccupied, reassign the one of the meeting rooms to the user, and cause transmission of a notification that the one of the meeting rooms has been reassigned.

Abstract: Systems and methods that automatically process returns or exchanges. Upon receipt of product return requests, the system obtains information about the products and customers to facilitate the returns, aggregates multiple return requests and carries out optimization processing to generate optimized routes for product pickups. Logistic partners evaluate the routes for acceptance. Once accepted, a driver proceeds to a product pickup location and conducts an inspection of the products, which includes photographing the products and placing the products in special uniquely identified containers. The picked-up products are transported to a designated drop-off location, and a second inspection of the products is carried out. Upon successful inspection, retailers are informed of the inspection results and proceed to initiate a refund or product exchange. Refunds or exchanges may be initiated after the first inspection. Other features and functions are employed in various embodiments.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and a system for facilitating seamen ticket booking. The system provides means for the user to specify requirements and book tickets. The system, by contacting associated service providers, identifies suitable flight schedule from an airport which is nearest to the location mentioned by the user. Upon identifying at least one suitable schedule, details of the same are sent to the user, and any other authorized person who may be monitoring the user's actions. Upon getting approval, the system books ticket and send confirmation and other details to the user. The system also provides visa requirement related information to the user, and allows filing of visa request online.

Abstract: A computing system can process utilization data from computing devices of requesting users of a transport service and identify a plurality of the requesting users being transported by a third-party transit means, such as a train, bus, or ferry, to an arrival location. For each of the plurality of requesting users, the system can determine a destination requiring additional transport from the arrival location of the third-party transit means. Based on the destination of each of the plurality of requesting users, the system can coordinate with a set of transport providers within a certain proximity of the arrival location of the transit means to facilitate transport for the plurality of requesting users at the arrival location.

Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing and solving an optimization problem involving trade-offs in a container delivery system (e.g., trade-offs at least between prioritizing crane movement and prioritizing the wait time for trucks that have already arrived in a port) are described. According to some aspects of the described techniques, a cost function of the optimization problem reflects both of these concerns (e.g., a cost function is described that penalizes crane movement, rewards clearing of containers, etc.). Among other advantages, the methods and systems described may result in increased port operation efficiency, improved container flow, etc.

Abstract: A system and method for food traceability from a food service location to the consumer is disclosed. The method comprises marking food items with a received label as the food items are received. This received label identifies a storage location for the food item and generates traceability information for the food item. If the food item is not intended for storage, then the food item is transferred to a prep table and unique item information is generated for the food item. The food item can then be prepped for usage. During the prepping process, the food item's expiration date is verified, and a serial number is generated, and a use by date is calculated. If the prepped food item is to be served to a consumer, a label is generated with traceability information, and unneeded ingredients are re-purposed or properly disposed of.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a distance traveled by a vehicle for the purpose of assessing and settling a road usage charge allows a mobile device to determine distance traveled with a vehicle while paired with a PAN transceiver of the vehicle by using GPS location information. The mobile device can also capture odometer images that are reported to a system that processes the images to obtain the odometer values and find the difference between the odometer values. Once the actual distance traveled by the vehicle is determined by the system, a road usage charge can be determined. Fuel excise taxes paid by the vehicle operator for fuel used by the vehicle can be subtracted from the road usage charge to determine a road usage settlement amount that can be paid from, or refunded to a financial account associated with the vehicle.
