  • Publication number: 20130133447
Abstract: An operator ratchet mechanism for effecting reciproctable lateral movement if an element of a geared drive train in a door, gate or barrier operator. The operator ratchet mechanism can be utilised to cause disconnection between the geared drive train and an electric motor of the door gate or barrier operator to enable the door gate or barrier to me manually moved, and subsequent reconnection between the geared drive connection and electric motor. An embodiment of a tilt door operator which enables disconnection and reconnection between a geared drive train and an electric motor of the operator by effecting lateral displacement of an element of the geared drive train is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120237298
Abstract: Disclosed is a double wall dam with a reservoir between the walls with opening doors mounted on the front wall to allow oncoming waves to open the doors and fill the reservoir. A hole with a turbine and generator is mounted in the bottom of the front wall to allow the water in the reservoir to flow out and spin the turbine and generator to create electricity. The dam can collect the entire wave and stack the water in a column that can be higher than the wave. This dam can produce many times the power than other over the top wave energy converters.

  • Publication number: 20120067012
Abstract: A particulate extraction system is disclosed, which passively removes particulates and some acids from a flue gas by forcing a series of volume and/or temperature changes on the flue gas. The system may have an interconnected series of chambers of varying cross-sectional sizes to effect the changes in volume. The system may also be uninsulated to allow the flue gas to be cooled as by radiation.

  • Publication number: 20110109088
Abstract: The windsock horizontal axes windmill is much like a conventional horizontal axes windmill with two unique differences. The propeller is replaced with a cone shaped turbine that runs slower with less noise very much like a squirrel cage type vertical axes windmill. The cone shaped turbine can also be seen so birds don't fly into it. The windsock turbine used underwater has the same advantages and also has the advantage of deflecting seaweed and other garbage pass the turbine because of the cone shape with the point facing the oncoming water. The windsock acts like a weedless, environmentally friendly prop in the water.

  • Publication number: 20110086329
Abstract: An oral care agent delivery device is provided which comprises a permanently deformable backing layer, an oral care layer, and a non-woven binding material with a first part that is substantially invested in the oral care layer and a second part that is substantially invested in the backing layer. The device is sized to fit over a plurality of teeth in an upper or lower dental arch of a subject. The oral care layer comprises at least one oral care agent and at least one hydrophilic polymer. When hydrated, the oral care layer has an adhesiveness relative to the surface of a user's teeth that is sufficient to retain the device on the user's teeth when placed thereon. The device can also have an oral care agent which is activated on hydration of the oral care layer, or an oral care layer which releases the oral care agent over time.

  • Publication number: 20100171313
Abstract: Disclosed is a device to convert the energy of ocean waves into electricity. The device has a barrel shaped body mounted on legs on the ocean floor. The body extends from below the trough of a wave at low tide to a height above the largest wave at high tide. There is a vented top and a hole at the bottom of the body. The hole in the bottom is smaller than the body to cause the water flow to speed up as it passes the turbine. A turbine generator is mounted at the hole in the bottom of the body. When the crest of a wave passes the device, water flows up into the body through the hole in the bottom spinning the turbine generator. As the trough of the wave passes the device the water flows out of the bottom spinning the turbine generator producing electricity.
