  • Publication number: 20200374897
Abstract: Techniques for autonomous uplink (AUL) transmissions are provided that allow for efficient use of shared radio frequency spectrum band resources. A user equipment (UE) may determine a duration of an AUL transmission and modify an uplink waveform or provide an indication to a base station of one or more channel resources that may be available for base station transmissions, in order to more fully utilize shared radio frequency spectrum band resources within a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT). A base station may activate or deactivate AUL transmissions through downlink control information (DCI) transmitted to the UE. A UE and base station may exchange various other control information to provide relatively efficient autonomous uplink transmissions and use of the shared radio frequency spectrum band resources.

  • Publication number: 20200326726
Abstract: Techniques disclosed provide for enhanced V2X communications by defining information Elements (IE) for V2X messaging between V2X entities. For a transmitting vehicle that sends a V2X message to a receiving vehicle, these IEs are indicative of a detected vehicle model type detected by the transmitting vehicle of a detected vehicle; a pitch rate of the transmitting vehicle, a detected vehicle, or a detected object; a roll rate of the transmitting vehicle, a detected vehicle, or a detected object; a yaw rate of a detected vehicle, or a detected object; a pitch rate confidence; a roll rate confidence; an indication of whether a rear brake light of a detected vehicle is on; or an indication of whether a turning signal of a detected vehicle is on; or any combination thereof. With this information, the receiving vehicle is able to make more intelligent maneuvers than otherwise available through traditional V2X messaging.

  • Patent number: 10750506
Abstract: Techniques for managing re-contention on a shared communication medium are disclosed. In order to facilitate re-contending for access to the communication medium, an access point may adjust one or more uplink transmission parameters associated with a triggering condition for invoking a contention timer. In addition or as an alternative, the access point may mute transmission on the communication medium during one or more symbol periods designated for transmission. In addition or as an alternative, the access point may configure a timing advance to create a re-contention gap.

  • Patent number: 10743325
Abstract: Techniques for channel selection and related operations in a shared spectrum environment are disclosed. In one example, a channel selector or the like may be used to select one of a number of available channels as an operating channel based on a comparison of cost functions for each of the available channels, with the cost functions being based on separate utility and penalty metrics. In another example, a channel scanner or the like may be used to trigger a channel scan in response to a channel quality metric indicating poor service for a threshold number or proportion of access terminals. In another example, an operating mode controller may be used to trigger a Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) mode on an operating channel in response to a utilization metric being above a threshold. The TDM mode may cycle operation between activated and deactivated periods in accordance with a TDM communication pattern.

  • Publication number: 20200229116
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for discovery of resources in a wireless communications system. The wireless communications system supports operations for multiple network operating entities that share a radio frequency spectrum. To discover and perform synchronization with the wireless communications system, a common preamble may be transmitted by nodes associated with multiple network operating entities. The common preamble may include information common to each of the multiple network operating entities which may be used by a device to identify neighboring wireless nodes, available network operating entities, or sub-intervals designated for prioritized or opportunistic use by one or more network operating entities.

  • Publication number: 20200173293
Abstract: A turbine blade having an airfoil portion includes a first ceramic matrix composite (CMC) component having a first outer surface and a second ceramic matrix composite (CMC) component having a second outer surface. The second CMC component is positioned adjacent the first CMC component such that the first outer surface and the second outer surface align with one another and at least partially define the airfoil portion. A ceramic bead is at least partially formed at an interface between the first CMC component and the second CMC component. The formation of the bead melts a portion of the first CMC component and the second CMC component, such that the ceramic bead, the first CMC component, and the second CMC component become a single contiguous component and the bead fixedly attaches the first CMC component and the second CMC component.

  • Publication number: 20200150672
Abstract: A method includes determining a current state of an environment of an autonomous agent, such as a vehicle. The method also includes determining, via a first neural network, a set of actions based on the current state. The method further includes determining whether further analysis of the set of actions is desired. The method selects an action from the set of actions using a model-based solution based on a reward and a risk of the action when further analysis is desired. The method also includes selecting the action from the set of actions according to a metric when further analysis is not desired. The method controls the autonomous agent to perform the selected action.

  • Patent number: 10645586
Abstract: The described techniques provide for partitioning resources to coordinate wireless communications between one or more network operating entities within a shared spectrum. Partitioning resources may include assigning certain types of communication for each network operating entity to certain time intervals within a larger time frame. For example, a network operating entity may be assigned time intervals for exclusive communication, time intervals for prioritized communication with respect to other network operating entities, and time intervals for opportunistic communication.

  • Patent number: 10638513
Abstract: Preceded contention reservation signals for synchronous new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) networks are disclosed. A transmitter that uses precoded contention reservation signals may be configured either to skip or use the training phase for determining rank parameters. The transmitter participates in contention resolution with its receiver by transmitting the precoded contention reservation signals precoded with tentative rank parameters. After contention interval, receiver sends feedback to the transmitter identifying proposed rank parameters based on the strongest precoded contention signals of any neighboring nodes that also won access to the channel. When configured to skip the training phase, the transmitter sets the rank parameters according to the proposed rank parameters. Otherwise, the transmitter participates in the training phase with other winning nodes transmitting signals identifying proposed rank parameters.
