  • Publication number: 20070298928
Abstract: In the case of the on setting of an eco switch signal ESW, when a torque demand Tr* is less than a good fuel consumption-assuring minimum torque Temin, the hybrid vehicle of the invention stops the operation of an engine and controls a motor MG2 to output a required torque for constant speed drive. When the torque demand Tr* is not less than the good fuel consumption-assuring minimum torque Temin, on the other hand, the engine is driven at a drive point in a good fuel consumption range among drive points on an optimum fuel consumption operation curve to ensure output of the required torque for the constant speed drive. Such control enhances the fuel efficiency for the constant speed drive.

  • Patent number: 7086450
Abstract: A continuous casting method is demonstrated, in which a slab including a liquid core 11 is bulged and then reduced in its thickness with a reduction roll pair 7, in which case, the uppermost surface of the lower roll 7b in the reduction roll pair 7 is located at a higher level than the lower pass line 9 of the slab. With this method, the slab can be efficiently reduced in its thickness without any loss of reduction force and the generation of segregation can be suppressed at the center area of the slab in the thickness direction. A continuous casting apparatus according to the invention is suitable for carrying out the continuous casting method according to the invention. A slab produced by the method according to the invention has good quality, since the segregation at the center area can be improved over the entire width in which the liquid core 11 is included.

  • Patent number: 6851795
Abstract: A cartridge is detachably mountable to a holder of an ink jet recording apparatus, so as to be freely reciprocatable to scan across a recording medium and record thereon by discharging ink. The cartridge is defined by a cartridge main body, and is provided with a recording head for discharging ink from plural nozzles formed in parallel on a lower face of the cartridge main body facing the recording medium. A front face of the cartridge main body is provided with an electrical connection portion having cartridge electrodes, which are electrically connectable with corresponding electrodes of the holder. A rear face opposite to the front face is provided with an ink connection portion connectable to corresponding supply ports which supply ink to the recording head from a main tank installed elsewhere on the ink jet recording apparatus. With the cartridge thus structured, the force exerted for connection to the supply port does not affect the precision with which the cartridge is mounted on the holder.

  • Patent number: 6847695
Abstract: A fuel assembly lower tie-plate with better performance in capturing linearly elongated foreign substances. The lower tie-plate has a screening plate positioned below the network section in the lower tie-plate cavity. The screening plate is arranged substantially horizontally so that the lower tie-plate cavity is divided into upper and lower parts by the screening plate. Tubular filters are attached to the screening plate so that the tubular filters have openings below and above the screening plate. Top ends of the tubular filters are closed, and the openings above the screening plate are formed in side walls of the tubular filters. The lower tie-plate may be assembled by combining the screening plate, the network section and the nozzle section together, after the tubular filters have been attached to the screening plate.

  • Patent number: 6805437
Abstract: The invention prevents drawbacks resulting from the bubble generated at the downstream side of the filter, while minimizing the waste in the ink. The recording head has a sub tank for storing ink supplied from the exterior, and a liquid chamber storing the ink supplied from the sub tank and supplying ink directly to a nozzle for ink discharge. A filter is provided between the sub tank and the liquid chamber. The liquid chamber holds ink of a predetermined amount in such a manner that the ink therein is separated by gas between the filter and the liquid chamber.

  • Patent number: 4988244
Abstract: A machine includes a pair of spaced supports, one of which may mount an operator such as a tool in a spindle and the other of which may mount an object such as a workpiece. The spaced platforms are joined by six powered and extensible legs joined to the respective platforms by universal joints. The length of the legs is individually manipulated to vary the position of the platforms and therefore the object and operator relative to each other in six axes. The powered legs may be hydraulic cylinders or recirculating ball screw driven. The distance between the spaced platforms may be measured by separate instrument arms which join the platforms. The instrument arms may use a digital position device to measure the extension and contraction of the instrument arms or may use a laser interferometer for that purpose. The changes in the instrument arm's lengths may be used to generate signals which are used to control the extension and contraction of the powered legs.
