Patent number: 10849553Abstract: Systems and methods for sonifying electrical signals obtained from a living subject, particularly EEG signals, are disclosed. A time-domain signal representing the activity of an organ is obtained. A voltage of the time-domain signal over a time block is determined. An acoustic signal based on the time-domain signal over the time block is produced. The acoustic signal comprises one or more audibly discernible variations representative of the activity of the organ. If the determined voltage is over a threshold voltage, the time-domain signal is squelched over at least a portion of the time-block as the acoustic signal is produced. The time-domain signal can be squelched by ramping down the signal as an input to produce the acoustic signal. The frequency spectrum of the acoustic signal can also be adjusted as it is produced, such as by flattening the signal and/or attenuating high frequencies along the frequency spectrum of the signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2019Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: CeriBell, Inc.Inventors: Alexander Grant, Chris Chafe, Josef Parvizi, Jianchun Yi, Raymond Woo, Xingjuan Chao

Patent number: 10838585Abstract: A system configured to determine interactive elements for non-traditional computing devices is disclosed. The system receives a portion of a webpage with a first interactive element and an element identifier. The system determines that a threshold number of interactive actions are associated with a second interactive element in a data store. The threshold number of interactive actions indicates that the second interactive element is selectable to perform an action in response to an interaction by a user. The system determines that the first interactive element is similar to the second interactive element by a similarity measure. The system provides to a computer, a selectable option associated with the element identifier of the first interactive element. The selectable option is for selection by an indirect input to the computer and for causing the action associated with the first interactive element upon the selection of the selectable option.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2017Date of Patent: November 17, 2020Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Alexander Grant Douglas, Muneer Mirza, Charles H. Patent number: 10748179Abstract: Adaptive control of exposure. A proportional exposure cap is a maximum fraction applicable to a recipient's total viewable attention in a time window. The total viewable attention represents viewable area and exposure duration of all viewable advertising content which will be provided to the recipient. A notification of availability of an opportunity to expose a specified recipient to advertising content is received during the time window. The specified recipient's consumed viewable attention (representing viewable area and exposure duration of the advertising campaign's advertising content) is detected. The specified recipient's total viewable attention for the time window is predicted. Responsive to the maximum fraction of the specified recipient's predicted total viewable attention for the time window being greater than the consumed viewable attention of the specified recipient, the advertising campaign's advertising content is sent to the specified recipient and the consumed viewable attention is updated.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2016Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: Quantcast CorporationInventors: Seph Zdarko, Ryan Lei Hin Chan, David Alexander Grant

Patent number: 10743809Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for seizure detection. The method for seizure detection may include receiving a plurality of electroencephalography (EEG) signals over a plurality of channels for a subject, preprocessing the plurality of EEG signals by segmenting the plurality of EEG signals for each channel into a plurality of temporal data segments, extracting a plurality of features from each temporal data segment for each channel, and applying a machine learning algorithm to the plurality of features to perform a seizure binary classification for each temporal data segment for each channel. A control policy may be employed to determine a seizure burden on the aggregated seizure binary classifications. When the seizure burden is equal to or exceeds a threshold, a notification may be generated. The notification may be usable by a healthcare practitioner to assess whether the subject may be at risk of having a seizure.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2019Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: CeriBell, Inc.Inventors: Baharan Kamousi, Mehdi Hajinoroozi, Suganya Karunakaran, Alexander Grant, Jianchun Yi, Raymond Woo, Josef Parvizi, Xingjuan Chao

Patent number: 10594338Abstract: A compression system includes an encoder and a decoder. The encoder can be deployed by a sender system to encode a tensor for transmission to a receiver system, and the decoder can be deployed by the receiver system to decode and reconstruct the encoded tensor. The encoder receives a tensor for compression. The encoder also receives a quantization mask and probability data associated with the tensor. Each element of the tensor is quantized using an alphabet size allocated to that element by the quantization mask data. The encoder compresses the tensor by entropy coding each element using the probability data and alphabet size associated with the element. The decoder receives the quantization mask data, the probability data, and the compressed tensor data. The quantization mask and probabilities are used to entropy decode and subsequently reconstruct the tensor.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2019Date of Patent: March 17, 2020Assignee: WaveOne Inc.Inventors: Carissa Lew, Steven Branson, Oren Rippel, Sanjay Nair, Alexander Grant Anderson, Lubomir Bourdev
