In one example, a mobile device is configured to: obtain beam support information of a plurality of cells; perform measurements of one or more signals at the mobile device based on the beam support information of the plurality of cells to support a location determination operation for the mobile device; and transmit results of the measurements of the one or more signals to at least one of a location server or to a base station to support the location determination operation. The beam support information may include: a number of beams supported at each cell of the plurality of cells, information to identify each beam of the number of beams supported at the each cell, beam width information of the each beam, and/or Positioning reference Signals (PRS) codebook information which encapsulates the beams which are enabled along various elevation and azimuth angles.

The UE may return the threshold to an original value after the positioning session.

    Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) in which the UE evaluate available positioning methods based on one or more criteria to determine a prioritized positioning method and provides an indication of the prioritized positioning method to a location server. The UE may additionally provide an indication of the criteria upon which the prioritized positioning method was determined. The UE may send the indication of the prioritized positioning method before the UE performs the positioning measurements and the location server may accept or reject the prioritized positioning method. The UE may alternatively send the indication of the prioritized positioning method and the criteria used in the priority determination after the UE performs the positioning measurements. The location server may use the prioritized positioning method and the criteria used in the priority determination, e.g., in subsequent positioning requests for the UE.

    Abstract: A battery charger is provided that includes a switching power converter that regulates an output voltage on an output voltage rail. A transistor couples between the output voltage rail and a rechargeable battery for a system. An error amplifier controls the conductance of the transistor based upon a difference between a battery current conducted by the transistor to the battery and a battery current threshold. A pulse width modulator controls a duty cycle of the switching power converter responsive to a selected error signal from a group of error signals. Based upon which error signal is selected for the duty cycle control, the battery charger either increases or decreases the battery current threshold to assist in keeping the output voltage above a minimum system voltage for the system.

The UE receives conditional reconfiguration information from a serving base station, which includes a list one or more candidate target base stations and their associated resources for handover. During a positioning session, the UE receives assistance data and determines a target base station for handover based on the list of candidate target base stations and the assistance data. The UE, for example, may select a candidate target base station for handover during the positioning session to minimize the number of measurements gaps that are required for positioning measurements, or to increase bandwidth or minimize self-interference. Where timing advance measurements are requested, the UE may select a candidate target base station based on sub-carrier spacing to improve measurement resolution.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for enhancing vehicle operations safety using coordinating vehicle platooning or enhancing platooning safety against location spoofing attacks. In one example, a source user equipment (UE) detects a potential spoofing event associated with location information being altered in an unauthorized manner, the source UE may transmit a request to a platoon control system (PCS) to join a vehicle platoon. In another example, a first UE associated with a lead vehicle in an existing platoon may detect a potential spoofing event associated with location information being altered in an unauthorized manner. The lead vehicle may transmit to a second UE of another vehicle in the platoon an indication of the detection and a request to exchange the respective roles in the platoon. The PCS may also monitor the conditions of the first and the second UEs, and arrange for the platoon reorganization.
