  • Patent number: 10189693
Abstract: A filling element for filling containers includes a liquid valve disposed to control flow into the container. The valve has an elastic diaphragm and a valve surface. An actuator causes the diaphragm to transition between a first state, in which it butts against the valve surface, and a second state, in which it is spaced apart from the valve surface.

  • Publication number: 20180327197
Abstract: A container-conveying segment includes a driving conveyor and a driven conveyor that couple to each other at a handoff area at which containers are transferred from one to the other. The conveyors comprise star wheels that rotate in opposite directions about their respective vertical machine axes. The rotors interact with one another at the handoff area. A drive couples to the driving conveyor but not to the driven conveyor. The driving conveyor transfers torque to the driven conveyor at a torque-transfer area.

  • Patent number: 10005617
Abstract: A container conveyor arrangement is used to convey containers, which arrangement includes a replaceable guide structure to guide containers. The guide structure comprises an upper guide element and a lower guide element, which are connected by an elongated connecting device to a carrier element. The connecting device can be rotated between a secure position, in which the lower guide element is secured to the carrier element, and an unsecured position, in which the lower guide element is not secured to the carrier element.

  • Patent number: 9969603
Abstract: A filling element includes a common actuator that controls both a liquid valve and a gas valve. The actuator implements a two-stage control stroke. In a first operating state, both the liquid valve and the gas valve are closed. As a result of a first partial stroke in the second operating state, the gas valve opens but the liquid valve remains closed. Then, in a third operating state, as a result of a second partial stroke, the liquid valve is opens while the gas valve remains open.

  • Publication number: 20180086571
Abstract: A container gripper has pivotable gripper arms and a blocking element that comprises a spring element with first and second regions that preloads the gripper arms into a closing position. The blocking element moves between a releasing position and a blocking position such that a closing force exerted in the blocking position exceeds that exerted in the releasing position. The spring elements interact with control surfaces of the gripper arms such that, when the blocking element is in the releasing position, the control surface takes effect against the first region, thereby causing the spring element to exert the first closing force and wherein, when the blocking element is in the blocking position, the control surface takes effect against the second region, thereby causing the spring element to exert the second closing force.

  • Patent number: 9850075
Abstract: A method for processing containers in a container-processing machine includes identifying a first container behind an adjacent second container in a container flow, the first container being positioned within the container flow such that the first container will, absent intervention, occupy a first processing position that has been designated as not to be occupied by any container, holding the first container back, thereby causing the first container to move with a second velocity, that is less than the first velocity, forming a gap between the first and second containers, and releasing the first container. As a result of having been held back, will now occupy a second processing position instead of the first processing position.

  • Patent number: 9604791
Abstract: A method for transporting containers using a handling and transporting apparatus comprising two transporting elements, and a gripping element and force introduction elements disposed on one of the transporting elements. A container is transported between the transporting elements at a transfer region by opening the gripping element and either releasing or receiving the container. The gripping element is closed to grip the container. In order to open or close the gripping element, a control element of a gripping finger of the gripping element is engaged with a control structure to pivot a base element of the gripping finger. Upon pivoting, a gripping region of the gripping finger is pressed against one of a pair of the force introduction elements to thereby deform the gripping region into a sickle shape.

  • Publication number: 20170073208
Abstract: An apparatus for filling containers with a product, includes a product supply, a pre-filling chamber having a controlled outlet, a movable sealing arrangement having a closed position for isolating the product supply from the pre-filling chamber, and a displacer arrangement that extends into the pre-filling chamber and that has an elastically deformable wall. The displacer arrangement is interactively connected to a control medium in such a way that an elastic volume change in the displacer arrangement changes a volume of the pre-filling chamber, thereby permitting control over an amount of product delivered through the outlet.

  • Patent number: 9567198
Abstract: A closing machine for closing containers has closing stations. Each station has a closer tool, a magnetically acting coupling element, a drive space, a product space, a linear drive, and a driver. The magnetically acting coupling element has inner and outer magnet elements. The drive space is formed separately from the product space. The linear guide positively drives the outer magnet element. The driver positively carries along said closer tool in a required height movement.

  • Patent number: 9546083
Abstract: An apparatus for filling containers with a filling material includes a transport element that rotates in a transport direction, filling positions formed on the transport element, and a common carrier common to all positions and moving with the transport element. Each filling position has a filling element, a weighing cell secured to the carrier, a container carrier, and a functional element assigned to the filling position on the common carrier. The common carrier is adjustable to move by an adjustment unit either in or opposite to the transport direction. The adjustment unit corresponds to a distance between functional elements of filler positions that are adjacent to each other in the transport direction.
