    Abstract: A device for forming components from billets having a thickness profile which is essentially symmetric to the central plane of the billet, i.e., the billet contains a thickness transition on both sides, and wherein the thickness transitions on both sided of the billet are transferred to one side of the formed such that the side of the formed component is planar. The forming surface of the forming device which faces the side of the billet that has a thickness transition in the formed state of the billet has a shape is adapted to the thickness transition to be realized, and the forming surface of the forming device which faces the side of the billet that becomes planar in the formed state is planar. Due to these measures, it is possible to transfer the thickness transitions that originally existed on both sides of the billet to one side of the billet in only one step.

    Abstract: A method and a device for flexibly rolling a metal band by guiding the metal band through a roll gap formed between a first working roll and a second working roll, and by varying the size of the roll gap in such a way that band sections with a greater band thickness and band sections with a lesser band thickness are obtained over the length of the metal band. In the device and method, the time of contact between each point on the circumference of the first working roll and the metal band is shorter in duration than the time of contact between each point on the circumference of the second working roll and the metal band such that an asymmetric band thickness profile is obtained in a region of the band sections with a lesser band thickness.

    Abstract: A method for the flexible rolling of a metallic strip in which, during the rolling procedure, the metallic strip is lead through a roll gap which is formed between two working rolls, and during the rolling operation, the roll gap is deliberately changed in order to obtain different strip thicknesses over the length of the metallic strip. A good planeness of the metallic strip can be obtained, and particularly, also for relatively wide strips, in that, during each setting of the roll gap or directly afterward, the deflection curve bending line of the working roll is controlled depending on the setting of the roll gap for the achievement of planeness of the metallic strip.
