Patent number: 9243481Abstract: A compressor free, generator free system production well for accelerated oil and gas removal from a reservoir using a magnetically coupled expander pump assembly, which include an outer expansion turbine that rotates around a pump. A magnetic coupling couples the expansion turbine to the pump. An inner portion of the magnetic coupling can be coupled to a pump shaft that drives the pump. An outer portion of the magnetic coupling can be driven by the expansion turbine, which rotates circumferentially around the pump. The expansion turbine drives the fluid to pump a driven fluid stream through the magnetic coupling. In this manner, flow directions of both driving and driven fluid streams remain separate and coaxial, thereby facilitating a reduction in an overall diameter of the expander pump assembly.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2015Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: GEOTEK ENERGY, LLCInventors: Michael Pierce, Allen Swenson, Angel Sanchez, Blake Sellers

Publication number: 20150120218Abstract: A method for detecting events associated with partial discharges (PDs) in high voltage equipment and installations diagnoses insulation conditions in real time by using PD signal noise discrimination by the parallel use of multiprocessors, which are additionally used for the discrimination, in real time, of different PD sources located in a single position or in different positions. In order to identify the various PD sources, three-dimensional clusters are formed using the coordinates of three parameters characteristic of each pulse: the parameter associated with the front time of the impulse, the parameter associated with the tail time and the parameter associated with the pulse frequency. The diagnostic method can be performed with grid voltage or independent generators as a voltage source, and the invention particularly relates to a novel voltage source designed therefor. A system for the implementation of the method captures PDs, and performs the necessary analysis and measurement.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2011Publication date: April 30, 2015Applicant: UNIVERSIDAD POLITECNICA DE MADRIDInventors: Fernando Garnacho Vecino, Miguel Angel Sanchez-Uran Gonzalez, Javier Ortego La Moneda

Publication number: 20090017506Abstract: A process to obtain multiple bacterial cellulose sheets without the need to replace new fermentation medium in the tray is provided. The medium is prepared and medium components in water are dissolved. The medium is sterilized and heated to 115° C. for 20 minutes, cooled to 30° C., inoculated with a suspension of bacteriae, and distributed in the trays that are left to rest. The sheets are harvested and drained over the corresponding trays. Further steps include repetition of the fermentation in the trays left to rest and harvest of the sheets from the trays, draining them over the corresponding trays until the volume of medium in the tray is 15%-25% of the initial volume. Then, a new medium should be added. Fermentation and draining is repeated until the volume of medium in the tray is 15%-25% of the initial volume, when new medium is added and the cycle is re-started.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2005Publication date: January 15, 2009Applicant: BIONEXT PRODUTOS BIOTECNOLOGICOS LTDA.Inventors: Luiz Fernando Xavier Farah, Pablo Angel Sanchez Podlech, Cristiane do Rocio Archanjo, Lucila Adriani Coral

Patent number: 7351848Abstract: Unexpected corrosion of downstream sections of a dialkyl carbonate manufacturing apparatus has been traced to alkyl chloroformate impurities, which slowly decompose to yield hydrochloric acid. An improved process and apparatus for dialkyl carbonate synthesis reduce corrosion by physically removing or chemically decomposing the alkyl chloroformate impurities within the corrosion-resistant upstream sections of the apparatus. The alkyl chloroformate may be decomposed by passing it through a passageway at a temperature of about 30° C. to about 130° C. for a time of about 0.5 hour to about 10 hours. The passageway may include one or more holding vessels or a tubular section that promotes plug flow.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2002Date of Patent: April 1, 2008Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Eugene Pauling Boden, Ganesh Kailasam, Larry Neil Lewis, Alberto Nisoli, John Yaw Ofori, Angel Sanchez Gonzalez
