    Abstract: During an analysis technique, a three-dimensional (3D) image of a portion of an individual is iteratively transformed to facilitate accurate determination of detailed multi-point annotation of an anatomical structure. In particular, for a given marker point, in response to receiving information specifying a two-dimensional (2D) plane having an angular position in the 3D image, the 3D image is translated and rotated from an initial position and orientation so that the 2D plane is presented in an orientation parallel to a reference 2D plane of a display. Then, after annotation information specifying the detailed annotation in the 2D plane of the given marker point is received, the 3D image is translated and rotated back to the initial position and orientation. These operations may be repeated for one or more other marker points.

    Abstract: A computer system that provides a simulated 2D fluoroscopy image is described. During operation, the computer system may generate the simulated 2D fluoroscopy image based on data in a predetermined 3D image associated with an individual's body. For example, generating the simulated 2D fluoroscopy image may involve a forward projection. Moreover, the forward projection may involve calculating accumulated absorption corresponding to density along X-ray lines through pixels in the predetermined 3D image. Then, the computer system may provide the simulated 2D fluoroscopy image with a 3D context associated with a predefined cut plane in the individual's body. Note that the providing may involve displaying, on a display, the simulated 2D fluoroscopy image with the 3D context.

    Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a gesture recognition application enables interactive entry via a touch pad. In operation, the gesture recognition application partitions the touch pad into multiple zones. Upon detecting a gesture via the touch pad, the gesture recognition application determines whether the gesture is zone-specific. If the gesture is zone-specific, then the gesture recognition application determines the zone based on the location of the gesture and then selects an input group based on the zone and the type of gesture. If the gesture is zone-agnostic, then the gesture recognition application selects an input group based on the type of gesture, irrespective of the location of the gesture. Advantageously, by providing zone-specific gesture recognition, the gesture recognition application increases the usability of touch pads with form factors that limit the type of gestures that can be efficiently performed via the touch pad.

The virtual AP (VAP) is accessible to devices associated with the owner of the gateway and to roaming Wi-Fi devices. A datastore conveys information about the roaming Wi-Fi devices to the VAP to permit them to access the VAP without the need for manual configuration of the VAP. A roaming Wi-Fi device may communicate with a gateway via a tunnel to maintain session connectivity during roaming. A session may be initiated on one network, such as a Wi-Fi network or a cellular network, handed off to another network, such as a cellular network or a Wi-Fi network, and then returned to the network on which the session was initiated.
