  • Patent number: 4157797
Abstract: An aircraft seating arrangement for an aircraft in which the seats for the pilot and passengers are disposed on first and second pairs of longitudinally extending rails in a fashion that permits the seated occupant to position his seat at a desired location along the fuselage of the aircraft. The rails or tracks are disposed in the floor of the fuselage and roller members cooperate with the parallel tracks and with the seat frames to facilitate sliding the seats back and forth along the rails or tracks. A suitable detent is provided for locking the seat with respect to the rails at the desired location. Also, provision is made for rotating the seat cushion assembly from a normal, horizontal orientation to a substantially vertical orientation when a latching device is released.

  • Patent number: 4152035
Abstract: A cabinet for a trash or refuse compactor having a recessed area formed in the inside surfaces of its side and rear panels and extending upward from the floor thereof for a predetermined distance, the depth and size of the recess in the side and rear panels being such that the vertical sides of a box-type container may be disposed completely within the recess so as to avoid contact with a descending compaction plate.

  • Patent number: 4130258
Abstract: A powered aircraft having an auxiliary thruster engine normally disposed within the fuselage of the aircraft, but which, when activated, is moved to an operative position outside of the fuselage prior to its energization, the auxiliary thruster engine providing sufficient thrust to power the aircraft if one or more of its normal engines is inactive.

  • Patent number: 4041856
Abstract: An improved baling machine for compacting loose waste material, such as paper, cardboard and the like. A pair of hydraulic cylinders, oriented crosswise to one another, when energized, cause a platen to move downward within a cabinet structure to compress the waste material contained therein. Because of the manner in which the hydraulic cylinders are pivotally mounted with respect to the cabinet frame and the movable platen, the force applied to the material to be baled increases as the stroke of the cylinder piston increases. Also, a unique arrangement of platen guide bars, cooperating with guide slots in the cabinet frame, prevent the platen from tipping and binding during the traversal of the platen.

  • Patent number: 4034878
Abstract: A hand truck having elongated telescoping frame means for raising and lowering the load bearing flanged bed which is secured to the base portion and extends forwardly of the frame means. A pair of support wheels are mounted on opposite ends of an axle shaft for supporting the truck, and a screw shaft is mounted for rotation within the frame means for raising and lowering the respective segments of the telescoping frame means. Auxiliary carriage means are swingably mounted upon the base of the frame and have a pair of castors at the free end thereof, and bracket means are secured to the telescopically arranged frame at a certain elevation to form a generally triangular support for the frame with the auxiliary carriage. Winch means are coupled to the frame at a point between the location of the carriage bracket and the base, and means are provided for operating the winch means. A battery power source is provided, with a battery supporting cradle positioning the battery and cradle in the structure.

  • Patent number: 4007677
Abstract: A waste compacting system for use in commerical establishments is described. Refuse to be compacted is fed via a chute into a first chamber and when a given level is reached, a first hydraulically actuated ram is automatically or manually activated to push the refuse from the collecting chamber into a compacting chamber. A second hydraulically actuated ram or platen then operates to apply a high compaction force to the refuse, forcing it into a container in the bottom of the compaction chamber. An electrical control network which includes various interlocks insures safe and reliable operation of the system.
