  • Publication number: 20070108400
Abstract: A self-contained, modular electrically-operated faucets is disclosed which has all of its components which are likely to need replacement over the life of the device contained in removable modules which may be quickly and easily removed and replaced without necessitating the removal of the device from its installed location. The modular electrically-operated faucet of the present invention is configurable to be either deck mountable or wall mountable, and to allow either a conventional faucet spout or a gooseneck spout to be mounted thereupon. Optionally, when the modules of the modular electrically-operated faucet of the present invention are accessed for removal and replacement, the flow of water through the device may be automatically deactivated by merely removing the housing of the modular electrically-operated faucet.

  • Publication number: 20060059151
Abstract: A mechanism for routing content, e.g., an electronic document, an invention disclosure, etc., to a person or group of persons, e.g., a reviewer/review team, for review and evaluation of the electronic document. This mechanism involves receiving the content and analyzing the content to generate identifiers of subject matter of the content. Subject matter categories are then determined to be associated with the content based on the analysis. The mechanism then retrieves profiles for people that are authorized to review and evaluate content. These profiles include identifiers of categories of knowledge that indicate areas of knowledge held by an associated person. A person is then selected based on the subject matter categories and categories of knowledge. The content may then be routed to a client computing device associated with the selected person or group or persons.

  • Publication number: 20050228762
Abstract: A system and method for an on demand workforce framework is presented. A profession-specific framework includes core skills, dimension skills, and functional skills which measures a user's capabilities within an organization. A framework generator uses business objectives and market conditions to identify particular skills and corresponding progression requirements for each of the organization's professions. The organization uses a profession-specific framework to evaluate and rank users that correspond to the profession. In addition, each user receives an overall ranking that is based upon the user's individual skill rankings. In one embodiment, other frameworks may be generated, such as a business model-specific framework or a business function-specific framework.

  • Publication number: 20050185220
Abstract: A method and implementing computer system are provided for enabling multiple usages of the same printing job separator page. Separator pages are scanned and an image of the separator page content is obtained in order to determine the location on the separator page of prior print job identification information blocks. The prior identification information block is then obscured and identification information for a newly queued print job is printed in a new information block which is positioned in an unused area of the separator page. The separator pages may be reused until the full extent of each separator page has been filled-up with used or obscured print job identification blocks.

  • Publication number: 20050156749
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for remotely monitoring the status of a variety of illumination devices. A fiber optic cable coupled to a light fixture transmits a light display. Based on the light received, the status of the light is determined. The status is determined without the use of elegant and expensive electronics that are more subject to failure and with minimal power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20050140572
Abstract: A method and implementing system are provided for enabling a user, through the use of a specialized viewing device, to view information on a display device which is not viewable by others who are not equipped with the device. In an exemplary embodiment, selected sensitive information on a display screen is obscured from normal view. A view-enabling device is provided to authorized individuals who are able to use the device to view the sensitive information on the display device. The user looks through the view-enabling device and is able to see the otherwise obscured sensitive information. Obscuring fields are overlaid upon the sensitive information during an obscuring phase at a known overlay frequency and the view-enabling device is synchronized to effectively block-out the user's view of the display during the obscuring phase resulting in an un-obscured view of the sensitive information on the display device to the user.

  • Publication number: 20050103876
Abstract: A method and implementing computerized system are provided for enabling point-specific temperature control for a given airspace. In an exemplary embodiment, infrared sensing devices are positioned in a vehicle to sense and record temperatures at various points within the vehicle airspace. This temperature profile is mapped relative to points within the vehicle and compared to a preferred temperature database to provide temperature control signals. The temperature control signals are, in turn, applied to temperature control air vent devices which are effective to direct appropriate air flows to specific areas such that actual measured temperatures at control points in the vehicle airspace approach the preferred temperatures for the respective control points. In another example, when sensed temperatures are above or below predetermined emergency condition limits for a predetermined period of time, various alarm systems are activated until the sensed emergency condition is corrected.

  • Publication number: 20050085972
Abstract: A method and implementing computerized system are provided for enabling the setting of automatic door opening limits for doors. In an exemplary embodiment, distance measuring transceivers, such as radar devices, are implemented in the doors of a vehicle to determine the distance between a vehicle door and nearby obstacles which may obstruct the full opening of the door. If the measured obstacle distance is less than the predetermined clearance distance required for a full opening of the door, then the maximum allowable distance for the door to open without encountering the obstacle is determined and limits are set to prevent the vehicle door from opening more widely than the maximum allowable distance. In one embodiment, the door opening is restricted by mechanical limits which are established by a gear-driven or rack-and-pinion system controlled by a limit control motor.

  • Publication number: 20050076300
Abstract: A method and implementing computer system are provided for enabling a document section block selection including the insertion and display of endpoint markers at the beginning and end of the selected block. In an exemplary embodiment, a selected block of text may then be either shortened or extended by using a pointing device to move a corresponding displayed endpoint marker in a selected direction.

  • Publication number: 20050060656
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for managing messages. A viewport is displayed on a display in association with a chat window in which the viewport defines an area on the display. The image is defined as graphical data in the area defined by the viewport to form a selected image in response to a user input to select an image. A marker is placed in a text message in the chat window in which the marker is associated with the selected image.

  • Patent number: 6373660
Abstract: A method and system for protecting a magnetoresistive (MR) head from electrostatic discharge damage is disclosed. The MR head includes an MR sensor having a first end and a second end. The MR head is coupled with a suspension assembly including a first lead coupled with the first end of the MR sensor, a second lead coupled with the second end of the MR sensor, and an insulating film supporting first and second portions of the first and second leads. In one aspect, the method and system include providing first and second test pads coupled with the first and second leads, respectively. The first and second test pads are for testing the MR head. The method and system also include providing a permanent resistor coupled to the first and second test pads. The permanent resistor has a resistance of less than approximately ten thousand ohms. In another aspect, the suspension assembly includes first and second head gimbal assembly pads coupled to the first and second leads, respectively.
