  • Patent number: 6768059
Abstract: An electrical connector crimping tool die set for crimping an asymmetrical electrical connector onto at least one electrical conductor. The die set includes a first crimping die adapted to be removably mounted to a crimping tool; and a second crimping die adapted to be removably mounted to a movable ram of the crimping tool opposite the first die. The second die includes a generally convex shaped rear side and a generally concave shaped front side. The front side forms a crimping groove with a center axis that is offset from a center axis of the generally convex shaped rear side. The asymmetrical electrical connector can be crimped between the first and second dies at an angle to a center axis of movement of the ram to provide a direction of crimp force substantially along or parallel to the center axis of movement of the ram.

  • Patent number: 6668613
Abstract: A transmission for connecting a rotary motor output shaft to a rectilinear actuator which is moveable rectilinearly along an actuator axis of translation. The transmission comprises a frame, an eccentric, and a rectilinear guide. The frame has a bore formed therein. The eccentric is adapted to position the frame on the rotary motor output shaft. The eccentric is rotatably mounted in the bore of the frame to rotate relative to the frame. The rectilinear guide is connected to the frame. The rectilinear guide has a slide surface adapted to be slidably seated against the rectilinear actuator allowing the frame to slide substantially rectilinearly relative to the rectilinear actuator. While this drive is especially suited for use on a hydraulic crimping tool, the drive is also suited for use with any kind of hydraulic power tool.

  • Patent number: 6666064
Abstract: A hydraulic tool having a frame, and a movable adapter. The frame defines a workspace with an anvil adapter at one end and a substantially flat face guide surface on one side of the workspace. The movable adapter is used for working a piece in the workspace against the anvil adapter. The movable adapter is movably mounted to the frame to move in the workspace relative to the frame along an axis of translation. The movable adapter has a substantially flat face seating surface seated against the guide surface of the frame. When the movable adapter is moved, the seating surface of the movable adapter rides upon the guide surface. The seating surface and guide surface interface with each other for maintaining the movable adapter in a predetermined orientation relative to the frame.
