  • Publication number: 20240123638
Abstract: A guard for a hair clipper includes a body having a comb and a retention wall disposed at a distal end of the body opposite the comb. The comb defines a cutaway. A first tab extends from the body and partially defines an opening through the body. The first tab includes a first notch oriented towards the opening. A second tab extends from the body and partially defines the opening through the body. The second tab includes a second notch oriented towards the first notch. A magnet is disposed in the opening and includes a cuboid geometry. The magnet defines a first channel in a first surface and a second channel in a second surface opposite the first surface. The first notch engages the first channel, and the second notch engages the second channel.

  • Publication number: 20230192144
Abstract: System, methods, and computer-readable media for training an object path prediction model to reduce an uncertainty of a predicted path when the predicted path of an object adjacent to another object. The training penalizes an uncertainty area prediction associated with a predicted future location of a nearby object to an autonomous vehicle (AV) when the uncertainty area prediction overlaps with another object to which the first detected object would be adjacent at the predicted future location. The training also penalizes a set of predicted future locations that implies improbable vehicle kinematics, whereby the object path prediction model becomes trained to avoid predicting similar sets of predicted future locations with improbable vehicle kinematics.

  • Publication number: 20180082349
Abstract: A product assistant device may attach to a shopping cart or other baggage cart and provide information and guidance on products within a retail space. The assistant device may provide physiological information from sensors such as heart rate, blood pressure, or other non-invasively measured characteristics via a display. As the device moves through a retail space it may wirelessly communicate with beacons placed around the retail space in order to provide location specific information on products that may be nearby. Information may include pictures, health impact, selection guides, recipes, and directions to other locations within the retail space where other products and beacons may be located. Using such a system, a number of beacons and corresponding information displays may be used to guide a shopper through the store and introduce them to healthier food choices.

  • Publication number: 20160149446
Abstract: The patent entitled “Improvements to rotating magnetic field machines” relates to changes to the structures of the stator and of the inductor system of conventional rotating magnetic field machines. The first change consists of the fact that the stator poles are axial, so that there are no slots between the shoes thereof in the air gap, the windings are in the axial portion and are prefabricated coils, eliminating power loss, electromagnetic and mechanical vibration, electromagnetic emissions, and start-up torque, with a much lower copper content. The second change concerns the inductor system, which is made up of multiple cores, with a shared collector and yoke, which greatly reduces the amount of copper needed, with external dimensions similar to those of the conventional electromagnet that they replace in these machines or in any other sphere of use, for the same number of amperes per turn. It may be used in all rotating field machines.

  • Patent number: 9322907
Abstract: A method for behavior based Friend/Foe/Neutral determination is disclosed. The method receives RF communications from a plurality of perceived entities and records a plurality of first level characteristics of the RF communications. The method determines, from an analysis of the first level characteristics a plurality of second level characteristics of the RF communications. From these second level characteristics, the method determines transmission patterns of the entities over time which lead to an ultimate classification of the perceived entity as a Friend/Foe/Neutral based on the patterns.

  • Publication number: 20150084472
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical power motor-generator excited by magnetic transference, and which further comprises a stator (1) and a rotor (2) with an external core (3) stationary relative to the stator and rotor, said external core (3) comprising: an outer axial part, or axial armature (6) joined to the stator (1), an inner part that communicates through an air gap (4) with the rotor (2), a third part, disk (8), that joins the other two parts, where the rotor does not have any excitation coils, and hence no rings or collector brushes. The outer core (3) has an axial permanent magnet (12) and permanent magnets (10) on the outer axial part (6) thereof, and electromagnets (11) in the other two parts or on the disk (8). The rotor does not have brushes to create a magnetic field, which is created by the magnets and coils of the outer core (3), the magnetic flow transmitting the induction flow to the rotating rotor, through an air gap, thus dispensing with rings and collector brushes.
