  • Publication number: 20090304329
Abstract: A light source supplies optical signal to an optical switch and a detector detects light receiving level. A control unit changes a deflection control amount for changing an angle of a tilt mirror, and outputs the deflection control amount to a driving unit. When an input and an output ports are same, optical offset of the tilt mirror is calculated based on optimal angle at which the light detector detects an optimal point of the light receiving level. Whenever the input and the output port are different, a structure parameter of the tilt mirror is calculated based on the optical offset and the optimal angle. The optical offset and the structure parameter are stored in a memory as a test result.

  • Publication number: 20090260217
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a coil assembly of a rotary electric machine is disclosed wherein first and second coil wire segments are located on an axis direction in opposition to each other to allow first turn portions of the first and second coil wire segments to intersect with each other (in locating step). Engaging movement, composed of a forward transferring movement, a rotating movement and a translating movement, is conducted on the second coil wire segment with respect to the first coil wire segment to allow the first turn portion of the second coil wire segment to engage a second turn portion of the first coil wire segment (first engaging step). Conducting the engaging movement allows to engage a third turn portion of the first coil wire segment (second engaging step).

  • Publication number: 20090260219
Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing a stator coil for a rotary electric machine, which is formed by winding up a plurality of phase wires. The method includes a shaping step for shaping a plurality of shaped wire members from electrically conductive wires, an integrating step for integrating the plurality of shaped wire members with each other to form an integrated body, and a winding-up step for winding the integrated body about a core member to form a wound body. At the winding-up step, curve forming is performed by plastically deforming turn portions of the integrated body into a curved shape, during conveyance of feeding the integrated body to the core member.

  • Patent number: 7248759
Abstract: In controlling an optical switch that includes an incoming light deflection section to deflect incoming light from a predetermined input port in an arbitrary direction, and an outgoing light deflection section to deflect outgoing light from the incoming light deflection section in an arbitrary direction and couple the outgoing light to a predetermined output port, a monitoring section monitors optical coupling efficiency of the outgoing light into the output port and controller controls deflection characteristics of the deflection sections so that the monitored optical coupling efficiency is maximized. Therefore, even when optimal controlled variables for the optical switch are displaced due to temperature drift and/or drift over time, the time taken to find the optimal controlled variables can be significantly reduced and rapid switching of optical paths can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 7233741
Abstract: An optical exchange for a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) network performs a switching operation on a plurality of optical signals, which are input via a plurality of input ports, and outputs the resulting optical signals to a plurality of output ports, which are allocated to the input ports, by making deflection the optical signal; target amounts of the deflection to which the respective input optical signals are stored. The deflection is made using a switching controller, which reads out the target amount of deflection for such destination-of-switching output port with respect to such object-of-switching port, and controlling the deflection in such a manner that the individual input optical signals are deflected based on the respective target amounts of deflection. And during the switching, the power-level controller performs a feedback control for adjusting a power level of the individual deflected output optical signal to a target power level.

  • Patent number: 6875140
Abstract: Engine auxiliary unit driving equipment for transmitting an engine driving force from a crank pulley to a plurality of engine auxiliary units include an alternator and a driven poly-V pulley, provided at least in the alternator, has a plurality of grooves extending in a circumferential direction. A poly-V belt, which has a plurality of projections extending in a longitudinal direction to correspond to grooves of the poly-V pulley, bridges between a crank pulley and the poly-V pulley. The poly-V belt is substantially divided in an axial direction of the driven poly-V pulley into two pieces each having plural pieces of the projections. Accordingly, a tensile strength acting in a width direction of the poly-V belt is substantially divided midway between the divided poly-V belts to reduce cracking in the round poly-V belt, resulting in longer life of the poly-V belt.
