Abstract: A mechanical joint restraint including a clamping ring for pressing against a seal of an annular flange, the clamping ring having an annular lip, a pipe grip ring assembly including a yoke with a pair of transverse fastener receiving members, one or more transverse fasteners for fastening the transverse fastener receiving members to one another, and a plurality of grip elements, tightenable against an outer surface of a pipe, wherein the annular inner surfaces of the yoke include adjoining abutment surfaces that form an acute angle, and the grip elements have a wedge shape that is received in and abuts against the adjoining abutment surfaces and one of the abutment surfaces has an extension which is an annular lip that fits over and abuts against the annular lip of the clamping ring.

The invention provides a twin-lip seal profile particularly useful in combination with a pipe coupling, the seal comprising: a substantially flat base element, having a first (inner) face and a second (outer) face and two outer edges. Two spaced-apart support blocks projecting upwardly from the first face of the base element, each support block having an outer and an inner face. Abstract: The invention relates to a pipe clamp. The invention provides an improved external clamp for use on pipes, provided with a self-aligning mechanism. The self-aligning means is particularly useful in combination with a band pipe clamp or a band pipe coupling. The means comprising a first and a second rounded wedge-like shapes, the wedge base of the two shapes being disposed at an acute angle to each other when installed, the rounded wedge tips being in contact with each other, the metal band of the pipe coupling or clamp, when tightened by at least one screw fasteners reducing the acute angle between the bases of the wedge-like shapes. The wedge like position being provided with at least one aperture allowing passage for at least one screw fastener therethrough. The first wedge being provided with an alignment projection while the second wedge being provided with a complementary recess.

Abstract: The invention relates to external sealing of pipe joints. The invention provides a wide seal strip useful in combination with a coupling for pipes, the length, and hence the diameter of the seal strip being adjustable also on site. The invention provides a pipe clamp flexible seal strip adaptable to be easily shortened by the user to a required length. The seal strip being configured for use inside a pipe coupling, and having at least one narrow dividing cut which extends across the width of the seal to almost completely divide a major portion of the strip length from a minor portion thereof. The minor portion remaining connected to the major portion by at least one bridge member which can easily be severed on site for removal and disposal of the minor portion.
